Credits don't reveal all. Miyamoto convinced Nintendo to cancel all the pre-orders when it was just Twinkle Popo so that he could tweak it a litte. TPP: 26,000 pre-orders. Kirby's Dreamland: sells 5 million. And Miyamoto was sort of a mentor to Tajiri, and this is addressed in the Japanese version (one of the trainer's names in Satoshi and one for the rival is Shigeru).

He's terrible, he makes a simple platformer BIG WHOOP! Anyone can make a 2D platformer but why is he praised?

Because their are mushrooms that come out of questionmark boxes? Flowers? A strange cape? THATS IT? Thats all you need to make to make a good game? Yeh right, any college student can make this.

What about Sunshine? OOHHH LET ME SPRAY THINGS WITH WATER!! Come on, this is a sad excuse for whatever this game is. It pretends to be platformer and thirdperson shooter with his water pack but there are already a thousand games better than what sunshine did.

Now Galaxy..COME ON THIS IS OVERRATED! The graphics are terrible in comparison to Resident Evil 4 and it does not know what it wants to be! Lik, for example the game wants to be a 2d platformer no wait it wants to be a 3d one oh wait no it wants to be a racing game! Come on, how did THIS overrated trash get GOTY? Halo 3 has multiplayer, singleplayer that blows this away, 5 times better graphics, better action, better balance and forge! What do you get with Galaxy? OHH LET ME RUN AROUND AND SPIN MY WII MOTE!

Im not dissing sheep here, I love Resident Evil 4 Wii but Miyamoto is overrated. In fact id go so far to say that he's terrible at doing his job and does not deserve the praise he gets.

Halo is so over rated. All you do is go around and shot things. The game doesn't even know what it wants to be. sometimes you play alone, other times you can have some one play with you, and most bizarley, you sometimes drive! How this trash ever gets praised is beyond me.

Any college student couldn't have made it back then. And I doubt even today that any college student could have made the game of similar quality. Cloning the gameplay today is no problem, but creating the overall game with a similar level of quality would be quite a feat.

Miyamoto was just a producer on Sunshine. He was not a director. Get your facts straight before you make something like this.

Let's see....Galaxy uses a cartoony art sty1e and RE4 uses a grim, realistic one. You can't even compare the two factually, they're completely different. The entire POINT of a 3-D platformer is variety. Have you ever played one before? Platformers are supposed to have a ton of variety; that's what the genre is known for. Halo 3, on the other hand, is a shooter. You want to compare a shooter to a platformer? Completely different, too. Better graphics from a technical standpoint, I'll give you, but the rest are opinions that hold no water since the two are completely different.

Just because you don't like platformers does not mean Miyamoto is a bad developer. Think about that next time you make a similar thread.

If anything, I'd say you're a 12-year old kid. But I'd also say that Halo is the most overrated game series of all time, and I'm immensely glad to see that GameSpot didn't jump on the bandwagon of handing out a GOTY to a minor upgrade to Halo 2. Super Mario Galaxy deserves the 2007 GOTY. It's easily the most ingenious and clever game to come out this gen (next to the deliciousness that is Portal, of course).

And Resident Evil 4 doesn't look anywhere near as good as Galaxy does. I'm not saying Galaxy has the best graphics ever, but your points sound so poorly thought up that I really just want to put my head down and cry at the inteligence quotient that people on the internet possess today.

And one more thing: Miyamoto wasn't the lead developer of Galaxy, and he has done far more for gaming than anybody else ever will.
