If it's like Metroid Prime 3 I'll be sad.  If it's like Metroid Prime 2 I guess it's better than nothing.  If it's like Metroid Prime the WiiU will be the single greatest console of this generation.

Incredible deep story, check.

Much longer game, check.

Much harder areas to explore, check.

It doesn't have to be another entry in the Prime series. When people say 'new Metroid Prime,' they aren't referring to that story arc as much as they are referring to a new first person Metroid game with the same style of gameplay as the Prime games.

Which is why I agree with Zero on this one, I love the prime games (even though 3's controls are a bit difficult for me, like most shooters), the first Prime being my favorite game that I've played, but I want something new from the series and if Retro's working on it I know they could shake it up best.

Never take out scanning though, a surprisingly good feature, keep that going.

Yes, yes, yes!

This is where I have to disagree with zero (and the RPG part) I respect Platinum, but they make action games, and they do it well. Metroid Is not a pure action game and I don't think it is suited to be (see: MoM), let alone an RPG.

Metroid Prime 1 and 2 were both amazing, but 3 was weeaker in comparison. That and the story ended at Prime 3 anyways. The only reason I would really want another Prime-esque game to be made is if it were on the Wii U; to see how great the game would look in HD. Outside of that, I can't say I want another Prime-esque game that much.

I'd rather they take the series back to its roots or do something new with it at this point.

If you want something new.. I think a 3rd person game would be cool like the alpha of prime. But definitely have Retro develop it.

As much as I don't really like the sound of it, I'd trust Retro enough to do something like that. I don't mean this to sound like I'm overhyping Retro, I don't think they're infallible-- Just really good, and especially trustworthy.
