I don't agree but the mods make it look very nice..
Here is a video; Mine looks similar to his.

but I'll agree with a "Crap Graphics to Modded Great Graphics" King (New Title?)
Hence why the title points out that this is "modded" GTA IV. He was never claiming stock GTA IV was graphics king.Games should be judged on their own rights -- not by attributes given to them by a third party.

No s***!? I never claimed wether GTA IV in any state is/is not was/was not graphics king. I merely made a statement...and apparently touched a nerve.

Yes apparently you did touch your own nerve, since you are awfully snappy at someone explaining something to you.Better City Textures. Visual Mod, RealizmIV, ENB Series, and some car models. I get 45ish frames @ 1080p. But I'm running 2 gtx 460's. Unmodded I get like 110 frames. What mods are those?

Car and environment king, characters all look like garbage though :D. Also poor optimization king.InconsistancyMaybe its cause I got it so late, but the game ran fantastic on my system straight away.

Don't get preachy. And at least according to the GS review all this mod does is cover up flaws.
On graphical mods - Just because you can download mods like, for example, Complete 2009 doesn't automatically mean that Shadow of Chernobyl suddenly became a better looking (or better game). It just means that some flaws were covered up with something pretty.

But it does in fact become a better looking game, regardless of the methods used. I don't get your point.[QUOTE="R3FURBISHED"]

So Crysis 2 is the graphics king? We all know vanilla Crysis is pretty bad now. Depends on if you consider custom config files mods. Personally I don't.[QUOTE="R3FURBISHED"]

I have that game as well, and its not even close.Just cause 2 looks better, it just doesn't have a realistic artstyle.

I've only ever played vanilla Crysis - and I've only ever played it on or around High. I also fail to see how it is "pretty bad"...unless its AI we're dealing with.

All the mods I listed have dlc versions. Just have to google em. Took me like 3 hours to get everything setup correctly.Oh yeah, is there a mod like that for EFLC? I played through GTA 4 twice on 360 and feel sick just thinking about doing it again.

Complete 2009 makes SoC have 2009 graphics when the game actually came out in 2007. That's a pretty solid achievement. I personally don't think graphics matter--really at all--when it comes to gaming, but I can respect when something is modified to look that pretty.[QUOTE="ferret-gamer"]

I'm not sure I follow. Graphical mods don't suddenly make the game look better yet they cover up flaws with something pretty? I'm confused. :|[QUOTE="ferret-gamer"]

I'm not following your logic. Lets say GTA IV lacks AA, you see this as a flaw. That mod implements AA, you see this as covering up a flaw but not making the game better looking, even when AA improves image quality. The same type of thing goes for Complete mod for STALKER, f how is adding, for example, better textures and SSAO, just covering up flaws and not making the game better looking?I believe it's called Adobe Photoshop. Try to get a used older version. They can be pretty pricey. i take multimedia classes and i know fully well how to use photoshop, and i own it. but now that you mention photoshop, these do look like bullshots.[QUOTE="taterfrickintot"] the middle picture blows my mind. i want.

The pictures are just downsized to fit on forums and along with that removes stuff like aliasing. The mod does look like those pics in the actual game, except bigger and the aliasing and other stuff isn't covered up.[QUOTE="taterfrickintot"] the middle picture blows my mind. i want.

It may just boil down to a matter of perspective - and I'll use Shadow of Chernobyl as an example. Adding the Complete 2009 mod doesn't mean that the actual game of Shadow of Chernobyl is any better/worse it just means that you have covered up some of the games flaws -- in this case the graphics. The game itself is still good just with the graphical flaws covered by something pretty.
I may have phrased my comment incorrectly, but: I do not think of mods as something that makes the core game better but as something that covers up something in the game that is either lacking or could have been done better.
I would use GTA IV as the example (which would be more fitting since this is a thread about GTA IV) but I haven't played the game on the PC

Still not following you. There are many mods that do in fact make games better. A bunch for oblivion and dragon age. Graphical mods aren't meant to improve gameplay however. They improve graphics. It all depends on the type of mod you want. For example there are just as many AI mods for Crysis as there are graphical ones.As for photoshop, I;m not nearly skilled enough with photoshop to touch up pictures, most I can do is create gifs.
Too bad you can't.....=( Unless Microsoft decides to release it on PC.So basically someone modded GTA4 to look photoreal like PGR4
So what if SOMEONE MODDED PGR4?

You would have better car models, higher res road textures, better foliage, and handling tweaks.
