[QUOTE="Adrian_Cloud"]this is almost as bad as the Forza 3 mandatory install for the second disc. I'm definitely not happy about this, why not just release it as a part of the game? I mean DAY one? seriously now. people haven't even gotten the time to get used to the normal maps. :|pyromaniac223
While I totally agree that this is a terrible decision, why did you have to bring in Forza 3?

Yeah, Forza 3's second disk just has extra cars and maps on it that come with the game, you don't have to buy the second disk like DLC.

No you already paid for the disc, which is why it makes it worse. This gen is getting stupid with all this DLC, why not just release the game when its complete? Day one DLC, this is unbelievable.

Wait...so including content on a separate disc that requires an install is worse than taking content out of the finished version to charge for separately? You really need to go out of your way to hate on Forza, don't you?

Yeah that just made my decision not to buy this game day 1. Used off ebay a month later for $20-25 less with Act$ not getting a penny!

If true. **** you Activision. If true, who wants to bet that the content will already be on the disc and you're just paying for a download key?

I'll buy the game asap. The map packs? Ridiculous. It made me mad when Gears 2 released a map pack a month after launch. Now COD MW2 day 1 map packs? I'll pass. Thanks Activision. Becoming more and more greedy everyday.

Jesus Activision are we paying $60 bucks for an incomplete game? You're so bold as to force us to pay an extra 10 dollars for things that a normal, non-greedy company would just include in the final product because they care more about their fanbase than some extra cash in their pockets. I know your a company and your primary goal is money but why not thinktwice aboutthe people who give that money to you in the first place before you screw them over?

Go ahead, milk the Call of Duty name. Milk it goooooooood. Do what you do best, right?

Please, everyone, stop whining already... you know we'll all piss and moan about it, then just cough up the money to buy all the DLC like good little consumers because that's just what we do... Activision and Infinity Ward aren't aren't some noble benefactor(s) who purvey their games for our enjoyment, at their expense - they're BUSINESSES who have a mandate to make money... lots and lots of money... just be grateful that they don't start you off with just a pistol and make you buy all your weapons and gear via online microtransactions... Just resign yourselves to this simple fact, enjoy the milkage (because frankly, you have no other choice), and start saving your pennies for November, because it'll be here sooner than you think...

Or we can refuse to buy it. Why should I pay more when I can get other games that are better for less?

Not buying it is a choice. I personally need more info on this. It could be due to the size limitations of the DL DVD, of coarse the option to make extra $ is aparent. I decided not to buy it when they were spending an insane amount of $ on ad campaigns and throwing threats to try and tell a company what they need to sell their product at. Seriously though your right it will sell loads I'm just glad I'll be playing MAG.

I really doubt im even gonna get COD MW2, unless every review out there says its better then sliced bread. It just looks like an expansion pack imo.

This is what I hate about this age of gaming, I'm all for map packs, I don't mind paying $10 for three maps as long as the maps are great, and they are put out (normally two to three months is when I feel its time for some new maps) at a good time, I'm cool. Day one DLC that you have to pay is just robbery and sadly Activison will get away with it and do it all over again. It was bad enough when Gears of War 2 was pretty much unplayable online because of so many bugs, glitches, and lag (most of the glitches and bugs were present in the previous title which just makes it more fail) and EPIC shoved a $10 map pack down our throats and wouldn't acknowledge that the game was broken, but I would say this is even worse. When I pay $60-70 for a game, I shouldn't have to pay more money to get what should have shipped on the disk. Now if this was free DLC it would be differen't but becuase I have to pay for it, forget it.

tried finiding any proff of this (would have been a pretty major topic on the cod forums) and the firts thign that came up in google was this very thread so i dont think its true

Hey if they announce a map pack BEFORE RELEASE of the game...they probably launch the map pack along release too. Look it up eventually youll find it. Im way too lazy to post a link.

All the articles are strictly about them having DLC available to 360 owners FIRST. Not releasing the game with DLC day one. Wow everyone is FREAKING out over them announcing that there would be DLC for MW2. Did you any of you that are exploding think that they wouldn't sell DLC for this?? Seriously?? Come on.

No problem with map packs if they aren't day-1. Though they do seem a little overpriced.

That is a fighting game and I have yet to see any DLC for it. Other than new characters I don't see how they can add anything IMO.

Or we can "save our pennies" for much better FPS's... like Bad Company 2, and MAG.

Only game with a chance of being on caliber with MW2 in my opinion is Bad Company 2. I'll be picking up MW2 on PC though so i'll just wait for the maps to be released on PC for free which will be a month or two most likely. :) Bad Company 2 I already have some money put down on the PC version.

Considering how much playtime most will get out of MW2 i'm sure especially XBL players will pay it. Though it's the very definition of milking. Even more reason to pick it up on PC other than superior controls (KB/Mouse, like with most genres), better graphics, Mods, and more players (20,000 servers that have players in them constantly in MW1 don't lie). I don't mind DLC as I've picked up all the new content on Fallout 3 PC but, well, what they're doing with MW2 is ridiculous. Luckilythe maps willbe released on PC for free a month later.

I'll be happy Playing Demon Souls by that time, I dont need more shooters so I dont really care, although this is a very nasty form of milkage, it'll succeed anyway... many people will pay for the maps at launch.

I think it's rumored to have 2 sets so it would be $80 plus tax LOL. From the same company who is whining about the price of the PS3 LMAO.

Really, it's $89.99... $69.99 for game plus $20 for the two map packs.

Someone early said it was because of DVD space... +1 point for BluRay, if that's true.

Well if that is true, why not just do what Gears of War 2 and include a key to unlock the maps? I really don't see why Activison has to charge you for the maps (especially if they are just rehased geometry fromt the campaign levels).
