The only reason i bought call of duty games because i like doing walk throughs of maps and see how much level design has improved over the years kinda.
Still havnt played a impressive map in years.
Its about like how nfl,nba or mlb first began. Call of duty is on the same league as those. So it is apart of americas great past times so it will be here forever.people buying call of duty they just want to feel hip and included.

They were better had better level design and less noobish gameplay.

I agree with that, but sometimes you do have to appericiate the good sides of gaming in this day an age.
So one of the most overrated games of all time makes more money than one of the most overrated films of all time.
yay humanity
Even the new sega rallys are easier gameplay wise than the arcade game from 1995 and the music sucks alot more a tracks alot less memorable.
My main gripe with CoD is that I really feel like I'm playing the exact same game with different guns and maps every single entry in the franchise. Its still fun to play, but I hate what its doing to the industry, flooding the market with copycats and an overabundance of FPS games, which I really don't even typically like that much. I want to play MW3, but I refuse to buy it because I don't support it. I might however, go ahead and get either MW or MW2 on PSN. It'll basically be the same thing anyways.
Sad, people wont know a real arcade shooter, these new type of Arcade shooter dont intrest me in general.

DAMMIT! I haven't died yet so I don't know this part of my life yet, then Darklink spoils it for everyone that there's no God.
Thanks for the spoiler, I appreciate knowing a plot important element of my life before its even halfway through. This is almost as bad as when I learned the ending to The Sixth Sense before seeing it.

[QUOTE="Demonjoe93"]More like the opposite. Video games have been owning movies since Halo 2 broke industry records in 2004. These are all good signs. Excessive industrialization hampering innovation and quality, CoD is a prime example of it. Same happens in every entertainment industry, the garbage gets marketed as gold and fools eat it up and quality goes unnoticed and unappreciated. That just reflects negatively on the video gaming industry.

im tired of call of duty, but its always entertaining to see how butthurt the haters get
people enjoy it, get over it.
Gaming is dying.
Peredith
Yes, when a videogame series makes more money then the most profitable movies, books and music albums in history, that is a sure sign of an entertainment media dying. When its so popular that its more profitable then any other medium and hundreds of different titles release each year spanning different genres.
Its a TOTAL sign of videogames dying

Don't think Peredith is saying gaming is dying 'cause it's not profitable. I think, 'least how I feel personally, it could be moving the same way as the 'music' industry, the more profitable it becomes, the more industrialized it becomes, with that quality goes down and where there is quality, it's often ignored. So, rather, gaming as an 'artform' is dying, and just becoming a paper plate, or a Brittany Spears.
But, so long as propperly good games are still able to pull in more than enough profits, I think gaming will survive in a form that I can enjoy, hopefully it never 'dies'.

It was an example to go against Wicko, I think CoD is a bad direction. I didn't say, 'least I didn't mean, the industry is just a husk of it's former self and that there is no innovation or quality games anymore. And I'm not sure it actually helps, it may get people to buy the hardware, but I know people who only play CoD, and they really Only play CoD, maybe it does, but unless there's a study I can't know.
You should be happy the gaming industry is getting bigger even then the movie industry. It doesnt matter if you like MW or not.A game making so much money is a huge step for games.Video games being taken as seriouslly as movies, books ect ect.Is that not what we gamers want?
I'm starting to hate the little whiny b*tches on this board so f*cking much.
