Also computer part companies actually want to make profit vs console companies units. And to point out that that $800 pc is also more then 2x faster then PS4 and can do more.

For the jobs that an $800 PC can handle, how much extra would it cost you if you only have a PS4? You certainly wouldn't be posting here with a PS4.

But what is a PS4 plus a computer going to cost you? Especially when you consider you have to pay a subscription to play online games on PS4.

A PS4 plus four years of online gaming is $600, and then in that extra $200 are you just going to buy a tablet, or a super cheap laptop?

Or you can spend $600-$800 on PC ($800 if you need EVERYTHING; you can recycle parts after your first build) and get a PC that destroys the PS4 in performance, and is amazing at everything computers are capable of doing. You'll also get 10x the amount of games easily, and the best thing is there are no limits on what genres work, or don't, so you get games of all types.

Guess how many released on the PS4 in the same time frame? 4

4 games on the PS4 in the same time frame as 62 games on Steam. Think about that for a second.

Whoa there are Sony exclusives/consoles exclusives that are as good if not better than anything on PC. There is nothing better about a civic over the ferrari. Which coupled with the cheaper price is worth it. Also games are actually optimized for consoles and I get to play on a 50 inch Samsung. No porn viruses either! Not saying consoles are better just saying there are definitely reasons to own one. I wont spend any on hardware for another 7-8 years when the next console comes out.

I'd just like to throw this out there: the new Thief runs completely maxed at a smooth 60fps on my 7870Ghz Ed., whereas the PS4 version struggles to run the game at 30fps, and from what I've heard, can drop as low as 12fps. From what I've gathered from reviews, the PS4 version also has ridiculously long load times, something which I haven't experienced whatsoever on PC. Seems odd that the performance on PC would be so far ahead of the PS4, especially because the PS4 is supposed to have a GPU as good as the 7850. Dat netbook CPU holding it back!

PS4 let alone the X1 have major weak points. First is the cpu's in both, they may be an eight core based cpu but games only have access to six of them and then the jaguar architecture is only on average 15% faster clock per clock then the bobcat series which was also meant for tablets and net books. The bobcat series is slower then the old Athlon X2's from 2006 and the jaguar is on par to being slightly faster in processing power. still another blow is the sub 2 ghz core clocks on them the 1.6/1.75ghz so much weaksauce. Now the harddrives in both are slow ass drives being 5400rpm with only 8mb cache.

Who wouldn't want to buy a PS4 to play gems like Killzone Shadowfall or Knack? lolz

optimisation (compare 1.75 TF radeon 7850 with 1.84 TF ps4 in BF4, yes it exists but it is not sorcery and the facts don't support it helping yet)

yes there are some "advantages" like static hardware, but it partly depends on how you look at it.

in the case of static hardware, i don't entirely accept it as an advantage, i believe it is a compromise, because it takes away your ability to upgrade - which i consider an advantage!

Well thats an opinion but you look at metacritic some of the highest rated exclusives are only on PS. Yes I know pc has its fair share as well.

Metacritic averages are one of the worst things one can look at to understand a game's actual quality in comparison to other games.

Mass Effect 3 is a good example of why the average metacritic user score is useless. It included people who think it deserved a 0, and people who think it deserves a perfect score.Reviewers who disagree with you are useless for determining if you will like a game or not. But, by averaging out the scores, metacritic equal weight to the reviewers who are useful to you and those who aren't. Thus making the overall score useless for everyone.

Its not perfect but for the most part its accurate.

Disregarding the fact that reviews are often times terrible, all one has to do is compare the list of reviewers for two separate games, and they'll often be wildly different. I remember when KZ2 got a 9, and its metacritic was being compared to Halo 3s, yet if you look at both of their metacritic averages, while some review sites are the same, there are something like 50 unique reviewers thrown in that reviewed one game or the other; not both. How do you compare Killzone 2's 91 Metacritic with Halo 3's 93 Metacritic when 50 reviews come from unique sources?

And even then, the reviews that come from the same sites may be from entirely different reviewers. (Using Gamespot) Tom McShea has different ideas of what makes a game good than Kevin VanOrd.

The idea that metacritic is "accurate" is barfworthy. That's no way at all to judge a game's quality. It may in fact be the worst way.

Also remember that metacritic isn't a straight average, they weight the scores from different publications differently when determining the crtic score

Which is why its the cancer of the game industry.

It made sense to invest in a gaming rig for 7th gen, 7th gen games would kill my eyes just from looking at it. But now? I find it hard to justify the investment.

It has zero games I want to play right now. That's how. That is not to say I wouldn't give Resogun or Killzone a spin. But do I have any actual desire to play them? No.

But you've yet to give a reason why I should be "jelly" of PS4?
