i just bought my copy digitally, haven't even hunted yet. it's annoying me that i can't set the item bar to hide until i hold L, and that even though i put the player list on the bottom screen, it won't go away.

First time playing MH, I've played a good 8 hours of it so far. What can I say, I like it. Finally got myself some new armour, haven't upgraded any of my weapons though. I've slayed Great Jaggi, Wroggi and that bear thing. First time fainted on that bird monster mission.
Edit: Almost made a question about warm pelts but decided to google it instead :P

Fought a Royal Ludroth for 45 minutes, finally maimed it under water. One of the hardest battles yet.
man i remember my first fight with a R. Ludroth. epic battle...it just didnt want to go down. it was my first big battle with a great sword as i was finding the lance a pain to use under water. this was with tri on the wii. i only got it yesterday on the 3DS and the game seems to chew through my 3DS battery (yea....good excuses :P). im farming and building as much as i can as i go so i havent even taken on the qurupeco yet. i have several sets to sort out. the learning curve is much nicer on this compared to tri though which is nice. its a real shame the 3DS version lacks online though.....why did capcom do that?
spent most of yesterday playing multiplayer with a friend who had less than an hour of game lol. kinda annoyed that the weakest monster available to fight on multiplayer is a qurupeco that summons a f*cking rathian to help, or a R.Ludroth. or the gobul, though it technically should be tougher than those two. no jaggis, wroggis, arzuros (or whatever the bear is called), nothing. and despite spending so much time playing the game yesterday, we couldn't move to HR 2. also, i just realized that there are NO sub-missions in the game, at all. WTF? i loved those, and now there aren't any.

Yeah I thought Qurupeco was **** but R.L was something else. Easier to fight under water imo. I even got a shock trap for the hunt, but didn't use it in the end. I wonder if they could somehow patch the online for it.

Some items like Bloodstones, Coral, Unique mushrooms you have to farm on the mission though. I'm kinda person who spends a couple hours solo-ing for items.

Assuming your ludroth is low rank (constitution + 1, pelletS +1 & divine blessing), it'd be good if you choose a scatter bow with it. Constitution & divine blessing is passive, & pelletS increases your scatter attack. But I think you should choose your bow basing on elemental attack as well, whatever suit the monster best.
Well, it is an enhanced port of a four year old Wii game...
I own a Wii and never got to play Monster Hunter Tri (though I did play the past ones). I don't see how that affects the overall quality of the game. It's still a fantastic game and, well, that was my opinion. It's not really open for debate. ;)

Oh, it's indisputably great. It's just that the fact that it is a fully priced enhanced port of an old game probably factored into the game scoring a bit low.
