Wasn't it first revealed at E3? It should be coming then, unless the game didn't do well in sales for Japan?

Street Fighter?
That's a house hold name. Ask anyone from the 80s.
Also that's just my opinion don't let it bother you I've never found anything NIS games enjoyable besides Disgaea and I doubt any of those games are going to be criticlally acclaimed.

And Imageepoch's games have actually been given pretty good scores overall.

▲ Will they change the storys and gameplay? Because those are really what people dislike about JRPGs. Turn-based mechanic makes no sense. ▲
Wanderer5
Change the story from what? And what wrong withTurn-based?:? How does it not make sense?
▲ I meant change the storys from the overly emotional, conveluted bullcrap that they usually are. Turn based doesn't make any sense because, in real life while in combat, you do not go by "turns". Is there turn based in Mass Effect? NOPE. I shoot whenever I feel like. ▲

Is that seriously what you can come up with? These are games not real life lol.

No offence but you are not going to win an argument based on realism in games by bringing up Mass Effect.
And games like Kotor, Fallout and Civilization 5 are turn-based so I guess they are bad games as well.

It seems you like action RPG like Mass Effect more which is fine, but to say Time-based doesn't make sense because it not like that in real life? Come on seriously. And Mass Effect is not that much realistic either.

▲ Well, I don't understand why all my characters can't attack at once. Why cant they just be defaulted to attack as soon as they engage an enemy. Most of the time in JRPGs your just pressing X over and over again anyways. And random encounters are also what I hate about it. How tedious is that. ▲

It turn based that how it works so you can control each party members on what to do, don't see how that doesn't make sense. And so what that you keep pressing one button? Turn based aren't meant to do combos and such.
There are no plans of it currently. So I wouldn't count on it.[QUOTE="lazyathew"]

I am thinking of getting Vesperia sometime next week. I heard that it's available for the Playstation 3 but only in Japan. Will they ever bring it here in the States?
NaveedLife
Chances seem to be slim to none :(. I am just hoping now that the new Tales of "exclusive" on coming to PS3 makes it outside of Japan.
That's a shame that the PS3 version more likely won't make it, but I can always make due with the Xbox 360 version. I plan to get it on Ebay new sometime next week.
Too bad, was hoping for Soma Bringer, Xenosaga Episodes I & II DS, Phantasy Star remakes, Xenoblade, Last Story, PS2 remakes of DQ4 & 5

Okay whatever, but you shouldn't compare games to real life (maybe beside the simulators), when they are meant for entertainment.

Real time =/= realistic. The RPG genre is far from realistic.
▲ I'd say it's somewhat realistic. The more you do something in real life, the better you get. Hence the leveling up, the more you fight, the better at fighting you get. I would say Real time = realism. When you're fighting with a group of people irl, the world doesn't pause so you can give orders. ▲

I guess Kingdom Hearts is realistic then!:P
Oh and just saying, Black Rock Shooter looks to be a action RPG kinda like Mass Effect.

Don't see the point since they weren't meant to be realistic, and that doesn't mean they don't make sense.
Final Fantasy XIII did that and apparently people are pissed off for some reason.Targeting JRPG fans first and foremost is a weak strategy.
If they don't start trying to appeal to gamers that didn't grow up playing classic jrpgs the genre is going to continue to become more and more niche.
Juken7
Its bascially a "damned if they do, damned if they don't" sort of relationship. No one is going to be happy.
P.S. I feel bad for Final waiting on that Vesperia port. Really, its one of my favorite JRPGs this gen and one of the best in the "Tales of" series. Can't chose whether I like Vesperia, Abyss, or Destiny II (Eternia) better as my best.

Yea but with dragons, big ol monsters, demons, cat people, space alines, flying ships and far more stuff you kinda throw realism out the window in any type of rpg may it be wrpg or jrpg. THe combat is just what type of gameplay the game has. Some has actual control of a character full movements and some has the turn base which you pick and chose what to do by turn. It doesint make it any less real or more real.

real time action combat is nice but many people prefer the more strategic approach like turn based usually real time combat doesn't require much strategies.

The worst thing about FFXIII was it's story, and even then I still don't think it's as bad as people say it is. I actually found it fairly enjoyable up until the first fight with Barthabdelous.
