More JRPGs coming overseas! ( PS3, PSP and DS )

real time action combat is nice but many people prefer the more strategic approach like turn based usually real time combat doesn't require much strategies.

As long as they make some good games its welcomed also I'm still waiting for Bamco to start Localizing their tales games == at least tales of graces.

I fail to see how Production team 1 tried to appeal to Western audiences with the gameplay concept found in FFXIII.

Actually i spent over 200 hours playing DS xD before the game was released in NA.

It's a real shame and a huge loss for Bamco.

I know several people that started playing JRPGs again on the DS and PSP. They've become fans of the smaller devs on the systems like Atlus, NIS and believe or not Imageepoch. These are people that haven't played a JRPG since the PS1.

This is really tarnishing Bamco's brand as a publisher. Fans are starting to hate them and new gamers don't know about them. It's just another example of a Japanese dev not understanding the western market and becoming less and less important.

Generic wasn't FFXIII's problem.

The worst thing about FFXIII was it's story, and even then I still don't think it's as bad as people say it is. I actually found it fairly enjoyable up until the first fight with Barthabdelous.

I think the JP ver was off and on good and bad up until that point, the English ver was almost all bad, and both went downhill from there. The ideas were original and fresh but the writing team didn't appear to have the skills to deal with them.

Actually all SE game this generation are decent and great on handhelds.

Too bad, was hoping for Soma Bringer, Xenosaga Episodes I & II DS, Phantasy Star remakes, Xenoblade, Last Story, PS2 remakes of DQ4 & 5

There isnt 1 title specified for localization so where are you getting justPS3 and PSP from? They also have games on the DS, moreso than the former.

Next time dont single out the DS or you might look like a fanboy.

Targeting JRPG fans first and foremost is a weak strategy.

If they don't start trying to appeal to gamers that didn't grow up playing classic jrpgs the genre is going to continue to become more and more niche.

I'm happy to see BRS find its way over. Will be disappointed if we don't get the epic LE with the White Rock Shooter figma though. I'll have to import a JP copy then and pay 10000 Yen :S

Maybe somebody can wake namco bandai up and make them localize the tales series.... One of my favorite series and Namco hates us for some reason:cry:
