ME2 is a little overrated cuz its too linear and short but how can some1 call Uncharted2 overrated i don't know...silversix_
Because it's as linear as I have ever experienced a game to be and it is also short. Shortness doesn't bother me as much as over linearity especially when it's because the developers are more concerned with making a movie than a game.
[QUOTE="NeonNinja"]I'm trying really hard, but I can't get how you claim that Mass effect 2 is a third person clone to call of duty... I guess super mario bros was just a time traveling platform call of duty copy cat...I haven't played Uncharted 2 so I vote for Mass Effect 2 by default based purely on the fact that it's a dumb game that earned way too much praise for trying to be a third person Call of Duty with dialogue decisions.

When I compare it to Call of Duty it comes in a few key ways that made it eerily similar for me.
1. Level-design- It's too contricted, always funneling you forward, never allowing for exploration. Even areas that look like you can jump and explore are blocked off either by some tiny form of rubble or some invisible wall.Mass Effect 1 didn't have this issue. It wasn't perfect, but I enjoyed the freedom of exploringstrange, alien worlds, either through missions or on the Mako.
2.Enemy AI-Enemies are stupid. There is no combat AI.Enemiesweren't that intelligent in ME1 either, however that game wasn't as action-focused.
3. Heavy-scripting- Pass a certain point and enemies will jump out readyto attack. That itself isn't the issue though. The issue is that no matter how many times you play they will always jump into the same spots. Even if you backtrack for extra ammo/credits and return again, the enemies will respawn automatically again and do the same thing again.
These are all hallmarks pioneered by Call of Duty this gen. Level design that funnels you forward with braindead AI and heavy scripting.
And I don't get your Super Mario joke. In fact, Super Mario is too awesome to insult so don't ever do that again.

lol are you talking about ME2 or U2 cuz both are short and linear except one of them is *supposed* to be an RPG....[QUOTE="Pikminmaniac"]

lol are you talking about ME2 or U2 cuz both are short and linear except one of them is *supposed* to be an RPG....Yeah ME2 for me was moslty perfect, but the game was really short. 1st time I beat the game it was 21 hours, but the great DLC made up for it. Still I hope ME3 is a much longer game.

Right...

How long was you expecting/wanting the length to be then? 40-50 hours?
Don't own a PS3 and never played Uncharted. So I'll go with Mass Effect 2.
It is so overrated, but not a terrible game. The combat was just ****-tier.
And my faith decreases :|.

You're asking me to pick which is more overrated. I'm not saying either necessarily is (though I do think Uncharted 2 gets a bit too much praise) and Mass Effect 2 is like my favorite game of the gen. I'm sorry your collective faith in gamers has decreased because of my opinions on the general opinions regarding the two. :P
I got pretty bored by both games.. Even though I loved both Uncharted 1 and Mass Effect 1
Both games went forward in everything except level design imo.. Mass Effect 2's level design I just didn't like because every environment was pretty much the same thing, and they were all the same small condensed size with no Vehicle levels to make each planet feel like they were these massive planets with scale.. They just ruined the scale of the game with it imo which was one of the best things about the original
and Uncharted 2's best parts were just a bit too scripted.. They put so much effort into the big explosiony scenes that you had little control over, and the rest of the levels felt kinda thrown together... The pacing wasn't as good either.. I felt like some parts dragged on forever while others ended almost immidiately
I'm just going to throw something really unconventional here and go completely against the System Wars grain.
They're both very deserving of their scores and critical acclaim!!!
I know, just.... so hard to absorb. Your mind will now EXPLODE!:shock:
Well I was able to beat Mass Effect 2 and replay it 2 more times without getting bored.
I've been struggling to beat Uncharted 2 because after 2mins of playing it, I get bored of the whole "Summer Blockbuster "I'm Immortal Nathan Drake". Plus I always feel like I'm fighting the same bunch of guys everywhere I go. oh right, I am.... -.-

It this isn't proof that these games are overrated, I don't know what is.The only possible way to overrate Mass Effect 2 is call it the definitive best game of all time. Not that the statement can't be made, it can, but ME2 is not that perfect. It's just mostly perfect.

It this isn't proof that these games are overrated, I don't know what is.That isn't proof. It's just someone's opinion about the game. Just because you disagree does not make anything overrated, nor when I agree with his statement.[QUOTE="padaporra"]

I honestly can't see how either game is overrated, or any game for the matter.

The ME2 campaign is a LOT longer than the U2 campaign. :?

The ME2 campaign is a LOT longer than the U2 campaign. :?
50% of it were pointless generic mini-games, the rest of the time taken up with static interactive conversations with characters. The "gameplay" part was in short bursts and very underwhelming.
UC2 campaign has a lot more value for me. Not to mention it has half decent MP.
