little big planet
i was really interested in that game but the character physics makes it a horrible game
^^^^This. Spore was a huge disappointment.
Another few that come to mind from last year are Fallout3, WotLK, and Left4Dead.
The new Prince of Persia, I loved the Sands of Time and thought it would be more like that but the puzzles are lame and the adventure feels lost. I still think it is a good game but not near what I expected.wooooodethe moment i heard you couldn't die i knew it wasn't my POP maybe a return yo side scrollers would be good
Far Cry 2. No game, i repeat, no game has ever disappointed me more than that. Not even Spore, which had me literally saying "what the hell is this?" to myself.Verge_6ouch what was so upsetting about it? ( ive played it for 10 minutes )

Ubi has made far more games that have pleased me than not.
Gears of War 2. I still play it but it's just so disappointing, they fixed the flaws from the first one, but added more. I have a 2.6 K/D (atleast I think so, stats haven't been getting tracked for me on my new account) but it could easily be up in the 5+ if it wasn't for smokes and frag tags. Oh, and what's up with the quitting? I don't care about dying to some scrub who can just abuse the B button, but it's the quitters that annoy me. I've been robbed of my Wingman achievement because as soon as I get 14, host quits because he got graped. I've been robbed of my Annex achievement for the same reason.
After being such a big Gears of War fan, playing the multiplayer for Gears 2, it was disappointing. At first I liked it, because they took out actives, then people started abusing the flaws in the game. (In the first, if you went to melee and you got shot, you got stunned, in Gears 2 you are rewarded, the only thing that can stop another chainsawer is your chainsaw, or a smoke, which most people waste in the first second anyway)

Shoddy gunplay Malaria (arguably the worst gameplay mechanic of the decade) Stupidly fast weapon deterioration Convoy 'AI' that drives around in circles No fast-travel option 1 minute enemy respawn times (I'm not exaggerating) A surprising lack of war in a supposed warzone (you never see the two sides fighting one another) Nonexistent friendly AI Total lack of faction mechanic (which screams of being removed at the last second) I could go on.

Other than that I agree with everything else, and ontop of that would mention the dull driving (including driving physics), and an ultimatley lackluster enviroment that certainly could have been better.... Oh and of course the map design - how it bottlenecks into limiting approach in many instances.

MGS4. I've never been a huge fan of the series' gameplay (which was, ironically, the best part of MGS4), but I figured the story and voice-acting were supposed to make up for it... not so much.PBSnipesPersonally as an MGS fan I found MGS4's gameplay flawed. The shooter control functions and huge variety of weapons felt poorly implemented alongside the 'alert' phase - and constantly respawning enemies. It was fine in pervious MGS titles, as things like automatic firearms were seen as a 'last ditch survival' kind of thing when you hit alert phase, buying you enough time to kill some guards and hide.... but MGS4, even in the warzone setting its a real mish mash of design ideas that is not nearly as cohesive as its predacessors. I mean constantly respawning reinforcements on the battlefield - only when snake has been seen... Erk. Even things like the scope of the enviroments (particularly the first middle eastern one) dissapointed me... and the European city under lockdown. Its a pity, as the game is generally great.

I agree, I just really hated the story and voice-acting. So cheesy and melodramatic, even by MGS standards.

It lacked the punch and focus that MGS3 had, and it really piled up on the cheese at times.... and on that note there were quite a few scenes which were cringe worthy..... *spoiler* Meryl and Johnny anyone? erk. Its a pity because other story elements to me really hit home.
Zelda TP- I was hyped for this game after playing Windwaker, but the game ended up being a huge letdown.
After Zelda TP I have to go with No More Heroes and Assasins Creed.
To the guys who mention MGS4 besides myself did you guys feel the story was rushed often times? jasonharris48
I definitely felt that. But I keep telling myself that all the events in the game are supposed to be spread like weeks apart from each other so the sense of time is supposed to be an illusion. I guess its supposed to be the dev team's part to build the scenes properly though.
But overall my most disappointed game by far was Lair.

I feel you on that one. That part was just...awful.
Man, that whole ending was awful especially when Big Boss comes out.
THere was so many things in the story I wonder what Kojima and team was thinking. Good game none the less especially this gen hasn't been that great IMO.jasonharris48
