most disapointing games u were hyped for?

Wait until you get to the end. The final boss fight is the biggest joke this gen. The game overall is the most over rated this gen IMHO. I love how you have to move statues to enter a room that hasn't been inhabited in 400 years and find, enemy soldiers.

I was hyped for... HAZE, a lot. But back then I would say I was a hardcore Sony fanboy so I was pretty much guaranteed to hype it as soon as it went exclusive.

Ever heard of the movie Congo from the 90's?

Rent it and you will see where they got their inspiration from. Complete knock off of the movie, but in a good way. I actually loved this game

My pick is Assassin's Creed. I remember the commercials for this game and thinking, wow this is going to be great. But i swear, if I had to climb one more tower to get one more stupid flag and evade one more stupid group of soldiers, I will break this blu-ray disc in two. That's what i get for being a woman and getting lured by shiny commercials

People who say Too Human are pretty stupid. I played the Too Human demo and saw videos and it looked awful and played badly. I don't see how anyone would have been hyped for that.

But to answer your question, I'd say the new Prince Of Persia. I really liked the last gen ones and I was looking forward to it so much but when it came out it was just lame. What was even the point of making a game you can't lose at. Spore did too, I really liekd the spore creating demo but the game was just lame. Far Cry 2 was dissapointing, the shooting mechanics were pretty bad and it had no local multiplayer. And the was too much driving and not enough action. The FFIV remake on DS, one of my favourite RPGs remade into horrible voice acting and ugly art style (chibis).

Zelda TP - incredibly easy and story wasn't as compelling as Wind Waker

Assassin's Creed - too repetative, too many damn flags to get to get the "true ending"

Oblivion - Wasn't as good as Morrowind

Eternal Sonata - although the music and combat was good, the story was incredibly boring with a horrible ending

Ratchet and Clank: Tools of Destruction - All the levels just felt rinse and repeat, go to planet, go to end of linear level, fight boss, go to new planet, etc

Metal Gear Solid 4 - Not that I was really hyped for it but after hearing all the good things about it I purchased it and while the gameplay was fun the story was horrible

Last Remnant - All the technical issues made it frustrated, along with the crappy animations and some incredibly fights that if you lost it felt like you wasted 30-45 minutes of playtime

Knights of the Old Republic 2 - just couldn't get into it even though I loved the first

Killzone 1, Street Fighter 4 for the simple fact that an amateur at this like myself would have to pony up extra cash for the right controller in order to enjoy it to it's fullest. Graphically it's beautiful. Resistance 2. Single player was alright.cainetao11

fable 2 co op. i bought it played with my friend sad that when it came out u couldn't have ur chracter with him. so they gave u a premade character that u had to play with.iam2green

Based on the demo: Killzone 2, super hype for all this time, and it turns out generic :(Andrew_Xavier

Sonic Chronicles. Its wass alright, but I was expect more from Bio-Wire.

That and I think Knuckles should have gotten to have the final battle. It was his fight.

Ratchet and Clank Future: Tools of Destruction. Its still a superb game but I was fully expecting IG to surpass Ratchet and Clank 3 and alas, they did not. :( Even just adding an online component would have pushed it clearly beyond too, instead its only on par with it.TheGrat1

Mirror's Edge- Man, I really wanted this game to be the Beyond Good & Evil of this generation, but it barely passed mediocre.

Portal: Still Alive- I liked Portal. But the Still Alive expansion did nothing to improve on the game. No extra story, and no Gladus. Just more boring uninspired puzzle levels.

Max Payne 2: The Fall of Max Payne- I loved the first game. Oh, God, I loved the first one. But #2's confusing plot and disappointing ending pissed me off to no end.

Half Life 2: Episode 1- Little or no added story? Check. Plenty of dark, claustrophobic underground levels? Check. Frustrating finalie? Check. A game that fails to live up to the original Half Life 2? Check, check, and double check. Good thing Episode 2 kicked ass.

Driver 3 (Driv3r)- Before this game I had never played GTA game in my life, and I still thought Driv3r sucked.

Dynasty Warriors 6- All the hopes that Koei had finally made a decent attempt at improving the DW franchise, dashed with a couple swings of the sword.

Samurai Warriors- It was Dynasty Warriors... except not fun to play.

Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic- Action RPG my ass. It was the same old, select an attack or action through a menu and watch your character do all the work, just like every other RPG before it. This game made me lose hope for the possibilities of a good Action-RPG game.

Fable- This game didn't help.

Gran Turismo 3- I had a blast for the first hour or so. And then I realized I was going to be racing the same damn races over and over and over and over again. How can one spend days on a game that has you race on a track for 20 stinking laps? Screw that noise.

The Sims (Console release)- Was this game really supposed to pass as entertainment. Who the hell takes enjoyment in watching their little mute dude or dudette slowly mope around waiting to take out the trash, moe the lawn, use the bathroom, or go to work 5 hours late because their creation moves slower than a sloth during feeding time?

That's all that I can think of right now.
