First off, let's learn how to spell people's names, TC. Second what praise has he gotten that makes him overrated?mrmusicman247Ever since the FF directors club speerated Nomura has been getting credit for just about every game they've done. When FFXIII flopped critically People were getting on his bellend because everyone else was incapable.
Infinity Ward
I don't know about Bioware. Baldur's Gate, Neverwinter Nights, Knights of the old Republic, Mass Effect 1.. These games deserve their praise.
SquareMFDOOM1983
Hell no.
Square Enix, yes, they are very mediocre these days (though i don't know who overrates them exactly, i mean damn, they are bashed as hell).
But Square? The defunct company that brought Chrono Trigger and Xenogears, the greatest pieces of gaming that blessed this planet, are underrated, as hell.
Infinity Ward
Treyarch

Worst, no, i like those games, except RO, its horrible, but they just arent as good as people make them out to be, atleast not for me,Obsidian, at least by the "hardcore" RPG crowd. I can appreciate what they're trying to do in their games, but they put too much focus on player choice without backing it up with a reason to care. "Shades of grey" morality and ambiguous player choice only work if the player has an emotional investment in the outcome, and in my experience their games just don't provide that: I feel more like I'm reading a choose-your-own-adventure book than taking part in some deep, meaningful experience. Nevermind their QA team.
Every non Sony developer imho
David Cage is underrated imho

Okay you guys need to stop trolling it's not funny anymore.
Really? Really?[QUOTE="vashkey"][QUOTE="Lucianu"]TreyarchLucianu
I would have thought someone would say that about Infinity Ward..
What, the "really?". There are Infinity Ward fanboys, I can see why someone might think Infinity Ward. But people are so harsh to Treyarch for creating the percieved weaker Call of Duty games. Ah, you're right about that, it slipped my mind for a few minutes, they are criticized regarding that, most don't praise them.
Corrected that mistake in my post, sir.
I'll just say in general, Bioware.

Hideo Kojima.

Definitely agree with Nomura, the fact that anyone can even pretend to like the trash he has produced is much more credit than he deserves.
I guess VsxIIII will be the game that truly defines him, but up to now, very overrated. Ninja_Odin
Are you actually implying anything positive about that hybrid rehash of Kingdom Hearts/Dirge of Cerberus?
For me, i'd have to say Santa Monica for the god of war franchise. Seriously, back in 2009, when the GOW collection was released for the ps3, i bought it on day one, for all the good reviews and because i generally love action games, and what did i get? A game where you could pull off a 12 hit combo by pressing a L1 + O, a game where half the time of fighting was spent timing quick time events to kill enemies instantly when you had thrown anything heavier than a pea on them. A game which handed you a weapon from the start which could dish out damage across the entire screen from the start and you were awarded health for pretty much every time you killed someone. A game which somehow won graphic awards in 2005, when it hardly looked better than an xbox launch title, AND I AM STILL REFERRING TO THE HD COLLECTION!
- Assassins Creed series
- Oblivion (loved Morrowind, Daggerfall and Arena in the elderscrolls series but didnt like Oblivion as much.
- Modern Warfare2
Cant belive people are saying Obsidian is overrated... Probably the most underrated devs ever.

I'd say in terms of gameplay and setting, they're appreciated just right. In terms of programming abillities, they are by far, the worst in the industry

As for overrated, I generally go with Bethesda. However, given BioWare's..."new ****"...I'll go with them.
Why must everything be overrated? Cant we just accept that some things are good but just not for us.
I think the following developers are good, but just dont develop games that particulary interest or entertain me: Amy Hennig (Uncharted, Legacy of Kain), Hideo Kojima (MGS/Zone of the Enders), Todd Howard (Oblivion, Fallout 3). Are any of them bad? No, but their product just doesnt cater to my tastes, I can see why people like their games and nothing is overrated.

StarCraft 2 ? The number 1 compeditive game in the entire world atm ? Made by the most consistive devs that have only great games in their history.
Wow, you must have no idea what your talking about. :)

i play all of their games because they are generally praised by everyone but each time i am massively dissapointed a by an extremely boring game

Even Knights of the old Republic 1?

Bioware shouldn't try to be mainstream.
Most people who play Bioware games are now casual gamers.
I think there's some... controversy to this, but I'll probably be the only one to notice that, right here.
I agree with this. I think the last BioWare game I liked was Jade Empire. I guess I also liked Sonic Chronicles, if that counts. I pine for the days of Knights of the Old Republic, Neverwinter Knights, Baldur's Gate I and II, and MDK2...I'll just say in general, Bioware.

Really? You can't see why someone might find Obisidan (a developer that, as I mentioned, doesn't provide much in the way of emotional investment and whose titles can generally be described as buggy at best) overrated?
