Doesnt only have to be this gen.
Tough choice for me, but i think im gonna go with the original Xbox. Meh, i just never liked the controls much and just like now, i hated LIVE.

Xbox 360, the only obsolete system this generation.

I can agree with this. It truly is the biggest failure in terms of the hardware of the system itself.
PC gaming isn't God's gift to man and isn't as vastly superior to consoles as hermits like to pretend. meetroid8
It is :P.
PC gaming isn't as vastly superior to consoles as hermits like to pretend. meetroid8In terms of technology, it is. In other factors, debatable.
It is better than other consoles, but what do I know, I'm just a "sheep". :?[QUOTE="agpickle"]
PS3, its a good console, but cows are the most annoying fanboys and make it sound like its better than Jesus. (compared to other consoles)
Bigboi500
I argee that its the best console this gen, but only slightly better than the 360. PS3 fanboys try to make it sound a lot better than it is.

It is not. :P

U can hookup a keyboard and mouse and vga, and ethernet and play quake3 online.Dreamcast. Awful system (controller is trash) but supported by die hards.

The Wii with ease. Nintendo fanboys act like it is the second coming. So what if it sold so well when its library is so full of weak sauce. I can count on one hand the number of games it has that are worth my purchase and after being out this long, that's just plain sad and pathetic.AmazonTreeBoaHow many Nintendo fanboys do you actually see around here?

Agreed. It really truly cracks me up just how many consolites we have here that are so deeply in denial of the obvious.[QUOTE="AmazonTreeBoa"]The Wii with ease. Enough.
I would have to say the PS2. People actually consider it the best console ever made... It was alright, but Gamecube offered much better titles
Xbox360. Decent online service =/= greatest console ever.

I agree with both of these points, but I'd say the 360 is the most overrated by far. I think there's a lot more fanboys for 360 that go to greater heights to make fools of themselves in feeble attempts to argue their system is the best.
Xbox360. Especially if all you're going to buy is one system, this is pretty much worthless for most people. But many find that out only once they've bought it. Can't blame them for that, though.starjet905I don't know..being able to game, play movies, stream movies, listen to music, chat, and use a motion system without controllers that look like a sex kinda means it's not worthless to consumers.
The PS3, hands down.
$600 bucks for a video game system. It released one year later than the 360 and it cost much more. One would assume to see marginal better graphics on the PS3 but what a disappointment.

Assume? I think it's pretty well-established that the majority of multi-plats look better on the 360.

This gen definitely the PS3. Soooooo many overhyped up exclusives that, to me, end up being nothing more than rentals. The shooters are worse than the 360/PC, platformers are worse than Wii definitely, the JRPGs are better elsewhere (even the 360's lineup is better with Vesperia, Lost Odyssey, and Blue Dragon....), and when it comes to downloadable titles XBLA has it beat, and the PC has them both smoked by a longshot.
Of all time the most hyped up system I'd probably still say the PS3....I mean systems like the PS2, Dreamcast, and SNES are hyped, but I full on enjoy those systems. The PS3 just under-delivers on most game I play for it.

Someone told me PS3 has the best exclusives because they're all blockbuster cinematic titles :P
The PS3, I bought it and sold it within a week. Very overrated.. In terms of games, online service, interface, and just plain everything. PS2 and PS1 was so much better..
This Gen- Hands down the Wii
Of all time- Wii
Ballroompirate
I'd say overall the 360. It consistently gets tossed above better consoles on "top" lists.
Wii...Of ALL TIME? No way!!! The system gives you most of the classics from the nes, snes, and n64 era. GC compatibility and many great wii titles as well. If anything it is UNDERRATED.

That's seriously what I hate about it.
The games just don't feel like they have much substance you know? When I finished God of War 3 I put it away, and never touched it again. Did the same for Uncharted 2, so I only rented Uncharted 3, and have yet to feel any regret for not owning it. And then of course there's Killzone and Resistance, but they aren't even worth mentioning if you own a PC or 360! Why would you play sub-standard shooters if you have access to a PC or 360?
But then there are titles not so much like that such as Ratchet and Clank, and LBP, but those games are also just bad when you compare them to Nintendo's offerings, and 2D platformers have been shining bright this gen which again leaves me no 'want' to continue playing R&C or LBP.
Now I have not played MGS4 yet, but I'd like to someday. I just haven't beaten my MGS copy yet on my PS1 so, yah :P I don't just want to jump ahead. Someday though. It's an interesting looking series.
But yah to the point in my experience PS3 seems like a good console if you only own one system because they you don't get to experience greatness elsewhere, so your standards stay pretty low. All of my friends that own PS3s have practically given up on them (though some have also given up on the 360 in some cases). We all jam on our PCs now mainly.
