@Sushiglutton
Thats sounds more like fun than it does rewarding.
Having a good time is the greatest reward a game can give you. Or do you game for loot?
@Sushiglutton
Never !
And in Gaucamelee's case, the gameplay is its own reward. Its not the type of game you play to level up, to reveal more of the story or to get anything in return. It means its not Rewarding, specifically "Extrinsically Rewarding"
it means you play it because you enjoy the combat, the puzzles and the platforming, you don't need to be baited into it, you play it because you love it... Thats what fun is.... Thats what Gaucamelee is. Atleast thats why I played it.
I don't do Extrinsically Rewarding games, games that feel insecure bout themselves that they feel the need to make up for it with distractions or even worse... Games that deliberately use rewards to skate by on gameplay.
Ofcourse one could say: "Who cares, as long they enjoy the overall experience."
Binding of Isaac Rebirth, no question.
The replayability, depth and overall challenge is amazing.
Easily my favorite title of the year.
Bayonetta 2. Sure is not a hard game but getting a Pure Platinum against some of the most challenging foes is such a rewarding feeling.
Add Demon's Souls to that, although it didn't came out this year. I enjoyed it more than Dark Souls.
@Lulu_Lulu You hear that, mate!
