Which one would you choose? To sit on a sofa (or something) play with a gamepad and relax, or play with a mouse/keyboard with more accuracy? For me mouse/keyboard, especially for first person shooters. For most other games probably gamepad.

I can use both more then proficiently.

Controller > M/KB for laying back on the couch.

M/KB > Controller for everything else

(FPS and RTS)

m&kb is the only way to go

accuracy is a must and a gamepad just doesn't have it

What? I don't understand how using a gamepad is any more immersive... Especially since you use your thumb to aim instead of your hand...

What about a Wii Remote and its pointer? It uses three dimensions of space and you actually have to aim the remote just like a real gun.

Trigger and rumble. No doubt PC is more accurate though.

which is why I only use a wii-mote for FPS games. But if I had to choose between a gamepad & kb/mouse. I would go for the kb/mouse because it's much more easier in terms of pin-point accuracy and not to challenging, so makes fps games a walk in the park for my grandmother.

Mouse and Keyboard. More accuracy is a must for shooters.

Also if you have a comfortable chair to sit in, you can play PC games and be comfortable at the same time.

Wrong. KB/M is far more immersive. Reclining on a couch takes away from immersion.

I prefer using a gamepad, as long as that gamepad is a DualShock. I seem to play much better when using them. Which is why I'm sad Sony never released a PC driver for the DualShock 3.

I use KB/M for everything but racing and sport games.

I wouldn't dare plug in either of my gamepads to play any fps.

Mouse + Keyboard is better for everything except fighting games and hack'n slash. Anyone who says different is lying to himself. So you can't afford a good PC, that's cool but don't embarrass yourself.

Gamepad, if I just want to curl up and relax. If I want to curl up and relax, though, I probably won't be playing a FPS. Mouse and keyboard for accuracy. Quake III on the Dreamcast was hilarious because you could pound gamepad players into dust with it.

Gamepad. I'm not a competitive gamer, so I'll take the comfort of a couch any day. Pure preference, though.

I have a gaming PC, and I'm a consolite. Where do you people get the idea that anyone whose preferences differ from yours must be lacking either the technical knowledge or financial means to game on a PC?

Describes me aswell. I like the occasional game of competitive CS:S of TF2, but I mainly enjoy kicking back in the fuzzy moon chair and relaxing to the voices of Nolan North and Emily Rose. I play way too much Uncharted.

I'd never play any game where you have to aim precisely with anything other than keyboard & mouse.

Gamepad is for platformers and maybe action adventure, but that's it.

For an FPS to enjoyable with a gamepad it needs to be designed with the gamepad in mind (e.i large hitboxes, large cone of fire, auto aim, sticky aim etc). For example, I played Crysis, AvP Classic and ArmA 2 with my 360 controller (all fully supported), but I found the experience to be frustrating at best. The gameplay needed the precision of the mouse. I connected my 360 controller up to MW2 and Halo 2 and I found the experience to be fine. All of those game played superbly with my M/KB. This is simply due to the mouse being a much more versatile and precise tool when it comes to shooters.

The simplicity of the mouse just doesn't do it for me. It lacks thatimmersive feeling so I much prefer the gamepad with force feedback and the triggers.

Mouse/Keyboard for FPS, RTS and WRPG's. After you get used to it, it's the best for shooters.

Gamepad is good (360 controller) but Mouse/Keyboard is better. However, the Wii controller dooes have potential.

Dual analog isn't so bad. I used to hate it, but after being forced to use it in MW2 it's growing on me. KBM is 100x more intuitive and immersive, though.

What's immersive above point and click? no feedback or nothing. When in a tight spot the controller begins to vibrate but what does the mouse do? Nothing.

FPS should only be on the PC really. It's the best way to play.

Dual analog is so slow and cumbersome compared to mouse and keyboard. Return-to-center sucks.
