Lazy? I think you're just grabbing for insults here. I won't play.
Here's my problem with thumsticks:
1. Return-to-center. Which means I have to work up through the sensitivities of the stick slowly (since it gets more sensitive the closer you get to the edge) or over-shoot by doing it quickly and having to correct. As soon as I let go of the stick it's going right back to center.
2. One-inch travel width. It's tiny.
3. Thumbs are made for grasping, fingers for manipulating. Try to spell your name out on the desk using just thumb movements, then try using your index finger.
On a mouse, I have the tactile sense of all four fingers and thumb to tell me exactly where that mouse is and what I'm doing with it. On a thumbstick, I have less than half a square inch resting on a knobby, rubbery surface.

Why is it that I don't have this problem? Like I said, it's no problem for me, I can deal with it.
Games are fun, I don't take them seriously, therefore I do not get fussy over the controls. I'm addicted as heck to Modern Warfare 2 on PS3, and I seem to be doing fine with a controller.
Stop trying to be funny, it's just stupid. Either debate or go away.
Yes, you deal with it. But I'd rather not when a better, superior option is available. Since PCs can use X360 controllers, and if they really are better, then why the hell aren't all pro-PC players using controllers? Here's a hint: they wouldn't be pro-PC players if they were using a controller.
A controller limits your skill ceiling to what the controller is capable of. On the PC, the skill ceiling is YOUR reflexes, not a controllers response time.
