Sony made the choice after seeing M$' disastrous console reveal. It was game over after that and everyone knew it. We still see the effects of that disaster reflected in sales today where M$ can't even compete in America. The damage was done.

PS+ was never free. They just decided to put an additional feature (online play) behind it when they realized they would have a monopoly on this gen. Sony are no saints. They just didn't go full retard like M$ did and knew how to capitalize of every mistake M$ made with the X1.

I agree with the majority, we shouldnt have to pay a middle man to play all games online. This is what i didnt like about Street Fighter 5. In order to unlock content you have to play online. Which is cool, but Sony charges you for online, so that means PC players unlock stuff for free, while Sony players have to pay Sony an online fee to unlock content on the game. Its a mess.

I'll honestly say that Bing search is awful (I mean, it's awful...downright shitty) when compared to Google, Yahoo or even Ask search engines, but at least with Bing you get points to spend. More people should do this. Easy to do, takes very little time and you can free stuff! Those that like playing Xbox Live....this is a very simple way to play online for free on your Xbox One.

So, stop waiting around and start it today. Free stuff is awesome!

It costs money on the consoles because Microsoft and Sony pay for it.

It's free on PC because individual gamers pay for their own servers that are often funded by donation. Some F2P online games are free due to the revenue driven by their business model.

Consoles charge $ for basic MP because... they can.

It is free on windows because they know PC users wont pay to use their online service, they will just not play the games and move on. Console users are forced to pay as they have no other option. This is the truth even if they refuse to say it.

Doesn't matter it's already confirmed that the Xbox will be better then the ps4 hardware (altough that won't be hard since the ps4 is a sliiiiightly bit more powerful). Who cares about the small fee have you buy an awesome console for 250$.

Ive recently discovered the joys of online play via GTA V on the pc. Ive played and completed it on the PS3/4 but never played online cause of the fees, now on pc that is completely irrelevent ive realised what a rip off gold and ps+ really is im amazed anyone pays it.

Dont get me wrong i love my playstations for their games but when it comes to playing online there really is only one obvious choice and its none of the consoles.

MS are the masters of brainwashing their users and ripping them off all the while convincing them its a good idea.

Because we can, so why not? Money bags.
