MS confirm no new Xbox at E3

"While we appreciate all the interest in our long-range plans for the future, we can confirm that there will be no talk of new Xbox hardware at E3 or anytime soon. For us, 2012 is all about Xbox 360-and it's the best year ever for Xbox 360. The console is coming off its biggest year ever-a year in which Xbox outsold all other consoles worldwide. Xbox 360 didn't just outsell other consoles, it also outsold all other TV-connected devices like DVD players, as well as digital media receivers and home theatre systems. And in our seventh year, we sold more consoles than in any other year-defying convention.

This year, we will build on that Xbox 360 momentum. With "Halo 4," "Forza Horizon," "Fable: The Journey," and other great Kinect games on the way, our 2012 Xbox lineup is our strongest ever. This year, we will deliver more TV, music, and movie experiences for Xbox 360-as we'll make it even easier to find and control your all entertainment. And this year, Xbox games, music, and video are coming to Windows 8 so people can enjoy their Xbox entertainment wherever they go."

i hope this is true, these consoles still have life in them. plus, developers are just now finally making some money.

Ms dont need to rush their next console.. give them time to test it properly before launching it on the market !!!

No problems with this at all, I wouldn't be upset if they launched it in 2014 or past that.

There are two other posiblities of course. The first is that he is lying, so as not to impact current hardware sales. The second is that the new console is not called an xbox.BibiMaghoo

That one would be pretty funny, although the first one is definitely possible. I think 2013 is going to be completely dire for both the 360 and PS3, most devs will be moving on to next gen projects.

I don't understand it no. I have a PC and have seen what they can do these days with games that are optimized for them. The consoles need DX11 support. They need triple core processors. With these innovations, developers would be able to bring us one step closer to photo realism in games.

why do lemmings wants or xbox fans want the new console so soon? I don't get it. I personally don't have money for a new machine. I just upgraded my rig and between that, my PS3, my vita, I have tons of games yet to finish and to buy. Unlike some here (and my friends list) I don't only play the new "hotness" -- old games are great.

Hell I play old pc and ps1 games from the 90s all the time. Is it all a system wars thing why lemmings yearn for a new console? is the kinnect fever getting to them that they want ms to invest in hardcore new ips again? If so, you guys will have to wait. Why not just take the plunge and get a ps3 or pc if you need something new?

I didn't think it would be possible for Microsoft's E3 conference to get any worse than last year's. Looks like I'm going to be wrong.

This makes me regret 360's success over ps3. Had ps3 beat 360 there would be a new xbox with better graphics out. Im getting a i5 Alienware x51 soon.

I'm assuming it's because they, like Sony, don't see the Wii U as a threat. If the Wii U is very powerful, Nintendo might just catch Sony and Microsoft without their pants on again. charizard1605

They can't launch when Sony 1st party is busy doing PS3 exclusives and MS' is doing Kinect. They have to wait for 3rd parties to develop next gen titles.

Nintendo launches with tablet enhanced current gen multiplats and their 1st party games.
