Ever since Phil Spencer took over then he launched the X1S and the X1X and now the XSS and XSX. It's not even close Phil has put together the best hardware team in the console business PERIOD!!!!!!

From the system with the most power the system with the most performance and the system that is the most quiet and looks the best. Xbox Hardware Division is STOMPING the competition in all areas.

Then WTF is this really come on you can't keep this thing cool so it's the George Foreman grill all over again. Also their are reports coming out that this thing is loud again also. Sigh!!!!!!

I know right like seriously. MS is the best at Software but they been taking to Sony and Nintendo in hardware for several years now also.

Can't deny their build quality has far exceeded the comp.

I mean this does kinda confirm Sony had been struggling getting the cooling and heating issues under control on the PS5, so they have ultimately had to go with a big huge shell. The PS5 ain't gonna win any awards for design that's for sure.

If MS truly delvers next gen with first party games like all things are pointing the XSX will clearly be the hardcore system to own.

Im convinced Sony had every intention on the v-shaped devkit design being the final design for the PS5, but the cooling system was inefficient (without it sounding like a vaccum cleaner) so they were forced to go with the design they have now. Lines up with rumors from just a couple months ago, that said they were having trouble with the cooling, and they would need to change the form factor. The final design was likely nailed down very recently.

The XSX is ugly as shit and MS still has no games.

Zero interest in their upcoming console, but the X1X, their standard controller, and especially their Elite controller make Sonys shit feel Fisher Price toys by comparison.

I love the design of the XSX. Disappointed in the PS5. The weird disk bump is so dumb. The two tone color design is also ugly.

It’s way too big. It’s insane that Sony is passing this thing off. The all black render is decent looking. But the white and black is IGLY.

Is that true, there are reports of PS5 being loud? I thought given the size it might have been a bit quieter this time around.

@mandzilla: I cannot believe they made this humongous...thing, if they didnt have cooling in mind. However, it does make you wonder how much airflow there is considering how narrow the actual vents are, and theres no vents on those huge white plains....

Yeah the groundbreaking thing about it in the console space is that it's not a stupid design in terms of cooling.

So far, I find the PS5 HW team's decision questionable with the SSD and haptics instead of power.
