ms tries 2 stop in-game xmb thru patent so they still have a reasn to charge $50

lets face it, the reason ms is releasing all these patent is to stop the release of ps3'sw ingame xmb with trophies, music, gamerscore, etc because they wont have anymore reason to charge their customer $50 for online gaming. Its very dumb to pay 50 dollars when the other system is offering it for free. virtuas

the patent was made official in 2006..before anybody knew sony's online plans.

This may come as a shock to some sony fanboys.. but we don't actually pay to get a menu to come up in games. Thats basic console functionality. You don't even need an account to bring it up. You only need a silver account if you want friends.

The only thing we pay for is online gaming.

Because I can still play my favorite first gen 360 games 3 years later if I wanted; I will always be able to find a match ;) Because XBL is so user friendly, I can find the person that I've played with weeks ago without having to exit my game or quite whatever I'm doing; Knowing that every user has a headset and is able to formulate verbally if the game calls for it. *Buh buh xbl is t3h prepubescent*

Having talked with people in the double digits about lives community compared to ps3's, ps3's is allot better....not as plentiful, but allot less vulgar...I used to play ps3 online everyday on about 5 different titles and can count 3 times when vulgarity was directed towards me, however I talk to people who play live everyday and they can't remember how many times they've had vulgarity directed towards them...

Every Online capable game that is hosted on PSN has to be paid for by the developers. Sony does not support them. For Xbox Live the players pay for this. Microsoft hosts every game, it costs the developers nothing. Which means more online capable games for the Xbox360. This is the main and only reason for paying the annual $50. And in my opinion its worth it. So even with the updates to the PSN, untill Sony actually starts hosting games for developers it will probably never rival Xbox Live.ShimmerMan

I play on PSN and XBL and I'll be damned if the groups of people on both networks aren't virtually IDENTICAL.

10x better? You know most people on PSN play with there friends and they all got headsets. Look at it this way you message each other and agree on what game to play you get on and have a multiplayer match. If your online without knowing anybody of course some people will rather just keep there mouths shut.
