Cows cry foul at M$'s $50 Gold membership, but are open arms to the idea of paying $25 a year to get content from Qore that would otherwise be free:lol:Frexie
Because one of them holds back one of a console's most important features, the other just sucks and you're not really missing anything if you don't get it.
[QUOTE="AmyMizuno"][QUOTE="Pro_wrestler"]The Live community is worth $50 a year honestly.Steppy_76Because Xbox live is notorious for having a wonderful, caring community.Which is why you build a friends list containing people you LIKE to play with.
Self-ownage. I do that for free on PSN.

Self ownage. It's absolutely worthless on PSN.[QUOTE="flatline711"]Because Xbox live is notorious for having a wonderful, caring community. You act like Playstation gamers are such a kind and friendly bunch. If anything, based on my experiences here, they seem like they would be worse. So I'm thankful I have yet to run into anyone with a mic on PSN. But when Socom is out, by god people better be using the mics.[QUOTE="AmyMizuno"][QUOTE="Pro_wrestler"]The Live community is worth $50 a year honestly.Silverbladed
Having talked with people in the double digits about lives community compared to ps3's, ps3's is allot better....not as plentiful, but allot less vulgar...I used to play ps3 online everyday on about 5 different titles and can count 3 times when vulgarity was directed towards me, however I talk to people who play live everyday and they can't remember how many times they've had vulgarity directed towards them...
Also, you're in System Wars, great logic there, I'll tell you what though, from what I've heard, the fanboys for all platforms here combined look like the Brady Bunch compared to xbox live gamers...
Also a Socom 2/3/CA vet myself *Started playing it 03'*, everyone will have mics, as Slant Six confirmed they'll be mic bundles with it..
Really guys, live isn't all bad. you sound like almost 90% of the people on there cuss, and call people racial names. While it happens more often then not, it's not everyone out there doing it. Besides you can mute them, or if your on a team of friends, gang up on them, and they will leave. Done it before. The mute button is also a really good option, if your on your own. Use what is given you. maybe if enough people complain or gang up on these people, then Live will be rid of these punks. In my opinion Live is so much better then PSn because of an integrated environment. Something PSn will not have even when XMB comes out. If XMB infringes on a patent that microsoft holds, just like the rumble on the PS2, Sony will have to deal with it. It is not some subversive plot to deny Sony adopters of a function Sony came up with. If it does not infringe on a patent Sony will have it out, and very few will complain about 5.00 a month to microsoft. Get over something that doesn't even concern you. if you play on PSn, be happy. Why would Live players paying 5.00 a month even bother you. you don't have to. Unless you own a 360. And something tells me the T.C. doesn't even have one.
[QUOTE="virtuas"][QUOTE="-GhostMLD-"]u clearly dont know what LIVE offers aside from multiplayer gaming. do urself a favor and find out. darkIink
the all too awesome COMMUNITY?
why of course: notice the age of the guys in the pic, you hear their high pitched voices in every halo and cod4 game (totally worth $50).
At least it's more than easy to play in a game.Welcome to PSN.
Also, sitenote: Muting someone takes less than 2 seconds.

it concern me because you're throwing money to the already richest company in the world. i guess the richer the company the greedier they are.

As of now there have been 0 Demos on Qore. When Qore came out there were 3 demos released on the PSN, the next week i think 1 or 2 and this week 3.
Try to say Qore is keeping demos and content from coming to PSN isnt really a good arguement. The only thing Qore had were some extended videos and developer interviews.
All the other game trailers go to the PSN.
Plus you can get into the beta invitations other ways besides Qore. So other than some developer interviews as of now Qore has not kept a single thing from being released on the PSN
lets face it, the reason ms is releasing all these patent is to stop the release of ps3'sw ingame xmb with trophies, music, gamerscore, etc because they wont have anymore reason to charge their customer $50 for online gaming. Its very dumb to pay 50 dollars when the other system is offering it for free. virtuas
They don't have any valid reason to do so now. Considering PC's have offered similar features for free forever.....
Here's my two cents on Xbox Live vs PSN debate.
I paid for a year's worth of Xbox Live. It was a good experince, the in-game dashboard is great. At the end of the day though, I just wanted to play online. Yeah, somethings were incredibly handy, like in-game messaging. As for matchmaking, gaming reputation, etc... I hardly ever used those.
I've played on the PSN since August, and it's been a good experince as well. Not as fancy as Xbox Live, but it's free. I have voice chat in all the games I play, it's as stable as Xbox Live, and the only thing that its really lacking to be a Live competitor is an in-game XMB... which it's getting soon.
That doesnt cancel out all the little features that Live has like "Trueskill matchmaking" (whatever that means), but it does make the services even for what I want to do. Game online, and be able to message friends in game. As for me, the Live experince isnt "so superior" when I dont even know what half the "features" are or do after a year's worth of doing it. Just give the PSN in-game XMB and as far as I'm concerned, it's matched Live.
I know that Live will still be superior for all the other little things, but as for me, the PSN will match the main features that I cared about when I had Live. E
Also, with that said, I dont think it will be too terribly long before Sony starts posting ads all over the place or starts making gamers pay. I hope they at least give the option. I wish MS did. If MS made all the bells and whistles of Live cost money, but made online play free... that would be great to me. Instead it's the opposite.
[QUOTE="ShimmerMan"]Every Online capable game that is hosted on PSN has to be paid for by the developers. Sony does not support them. For Xbox Live the players pay for this. Microsoft hosts every game, it costs the developers nothing. Which means more online capable games for the Xbox360. This is the main and only reason for paying the annual $50. And in my opinion its worth it. So even with the updates to the PSN, untill Sony actually starts hosting games for developers it will probably never rival Xbox Live.akif22
this a good argument .. shame cows won't listen though
I agree
