MS's Obsidian >>> All Sony Game Studios

Here is a nifty little fact. Obsidian is better then all Sony game studios. You're asking yourself how can this be? Well here is why. Obsidian is arguably one of the best developers on the planet with far fewer notoriety then bigger studios. IT's TRUE!!!!!!

Games like FNV are all time classics and they did this game in 18 months with a little budget. Then we have their latest masterpiece The Outer Worlds. Again a small budget but is still an incredible game.

Now lets take a future look at Obsidian. MS now owns Obsidian. All future Obsidian games will be exclusive to MS. Sorry Ponies no more Obsidian greatness for you unless you get a MS platform.

Lets dig deeper into the future. Can you say Obsidian AAAA. Yes lets say it again AAAA. That's right with MS funding Obsidian, Obsidian is now a full blown big budget AAAA game studio. So lets put all the great Obsidian juice in a blender with piles of MS cash and what do you get???

MS now has one of the best developers on the planet in their stable and now pumping $$$$ into Obsidian for instant AAAA games coming down the pipeline.

If you're an only Sony gamer you'd be lying if you honestly claim you're not pissed that Obsidian is in MS's wheel house now.

The Outer Worlds 2 with MS funding on a new top shelf graphics engine next gen is going to likely be ridiculous good.

They're alright, would do well to shore up their tendency of releasing buggy games.

Edit: Obsidian is okayish but saying they are better then Sony is a bit of a stretch. But I do adore Fallout: New Vegas, Knights of the old Republic 2: Sith Lords, & The Outer Worlds was dope.

Have never played an Obsidian game, so I’m gonna have to take your word for it. Their games have always looked real janky, but also pretty creative. Don’t think they can match SSM or ND though.

Look at Obsidian becoming the next RARE.

Obsidian are the most overrated dev on the planet. Goes to show just how garbage the western gaming scene is currently when a mediocre dev like them are considered top tier

Roles eyes well never to late to start. Play The Outer Worlds. Or if possible FNV on PC with graphics mods.

@with_teeth26: I had a fair amount of bugs in my Outer Worlds playthrough, but both Pillars games were fine.

I would take Obsidian over all your naughty dogs, sucker punches and insomniacs etc. That's not to say they make bad games quite the opposite but Obsidians output is way more interesting to me.

The recent Outer World games was average though. Not gonna lie they are a very talented WRPG studios and if they handle fable it would be very interesting.

It's not ave it's a great game maybe just a little to hardcore for you.

Yes this and as i'm saying now with MS making it rain at Obsidian studios they are an instant top AAAA developer on the planet now.

With MS money the two best most hardcore developers now are.

Bugsidian, lol no. Not even in the top 5 compared to Sony studios whom are top-notch in terms of product quality.

That's subject honestly because Naughty Dog and Santa Monica is clearly Sony's best studios whereas Guerrilla creates games with great graphics but shit lame stories.

Forgot all about it, but it kinda does look good.

They haven't produced anything under Microsoft....so maybe hold off on the praise??

I love Obsidian! Seriously, Pillars kept the CRPG genre going And showed there was still a market there. And The Outer Worlds is a lot of fun, if a little simplistic and small.

I’m hoping they still deliver solid games under MS.

Now, because this is SW I’ll respond to the OP. Is Obsidian better than all Sony devs? Better at what? Because they are much much much worse at 3rd person action games, party games, racing games, fighting games, soulsborne games, etc. But it can be said they are much much better at CRPG’s or WRPG’s.

@i_own_u_4ever: Talking trash about Guerilla Games? You're an Xbox fan, the only Sony game you have any right at throwing shade at is Knack. Get some good games before throwing stones out of a glass house.

They're one of the best modern RPG developers. MS scored big with that acquisition.

That being said - no. I don't see any direct comparison point with Sony's devs. Different foci and they all excel at what they choose to make

Obsidian is cool, but LOL no. Especially since they're already on Game Pass filler duty with Grounded.

FNV and KOTOR 2 are standouts worth mentioning, Pillars is a good example of its' genre but quite niche, the outerworlds didn't catch me in the same way previous obsidian RPG's have. Now if you said MS have acquired the fallout IP and re-hired the FNV team including Avellone then I would be very intrigued.

Well now that Naughty Dog has gone full sjw with their tranny killing machine and everyone has to be gay, I agree Obsidian is better then anything Sony has. In saying that though there is a few Microsoft studios that are still better then Obsidian.
