that are on other systems, but the only ones that would say "it's very poor when compared to the other systems" would be someone unqualified and not well informed enough to make that call in the first place.I haven't played a lot of Wii games a lot of ps3 games a lot of 360 games a lot of PC games I named the library lacking, not poor, comparing to others If I go to sites, that have played all those games? what do you think it will happen? which would be the results? Again, I stand by my point, going by its library (the thing that matters) Wii shouldn't be in 1st placeBigboi500

sir the thing is that 360 and ps3 are well suited for males 15 to 35. but not that much for people outside of that spectrum. most of the 360 shooters are not suited for little kids or elder people. thats where the wii got its sales.Nintendo will not release a new Wii the same year as they release the 3DS, so 2012 is the earliest.Since wii sales are lowering, don't be surprised if you start hearing of a wii successor soon.

[QUOTE="Giancar"]ehhh I don't base a system library based on retro downloables games or b/c compability. they had their chance, and made the system those were released on great ones. besides 360 and ps3 have lots of thos dl titles, retro dl titles, b/cLegatoSkyheart
why should you not include them? Most of the Retro Titles that the Wii offers haven't been on the Market for Years.
and you may or not find them on the other systems.
Eh... no one really means B/C etc when they talk about the library of the current gen consoles.Nobody is arguing that the Wii is not behind other consoles from a technical aspect. But even as he said himself, he's not played a lot of the Wii's great games, and neither has a lot of people that over look its library. I acknowledged that it doesn't have the same number of great games that are on other systems, but the only ones that would say "it's very poor when compared to the other systems" would be someone unqualified and not well informed enough to make that call in the first place.Bigboi500
Review sites on average play for more games for each system than most gamers, I would say that would make them informed enough to make such a judgment.
Just looking at reviews at this site the 360 has 162 AA and up rated games while the Wii only 65, I personally dont know how some one would be able to objectivily spin those numbers in a way to make the library look great in comparison.

at the same time they usually are in the 15 to 35 male demographic and have specific tastes games like wii sports dont appeal to those people as those games are way to simple. at the same time it is appealing for people who dont play games because they can join in the fun too.[QUOTE="Bigboi500"]Nobody is arguing that the Wii is not behind other consoles from a technical aspect. I don't put that much stock in "professional" reviews, and I doubt most of them have been gaming longer than I have. Also, who really knows if some of them have conflicts of interest, bias, or outside influences behind some of their thinking or not?I don't put that much stock in "professional" reviews, and I doubt most of them have been gaming longer than I have. You can compare reviewers to other reviewers to see if they are being influenced in a negative or positive way. When you see 100 or so reviewers giving a game a 9.0 I think its safe to say that the reviewer under question giving the game a 9.0 isn't being bias in some way, unless you want to argue that there is some conspiracy going on that's influencing all reviewers.

No, I'm talking about business and politics. The things that most users on game boards like to pretend doesn't exist. It doesn't seem like Giancar is using his personal opinion at all to argue his case, he has brought up the fact that the Wii is behind the other consoles technically, and that the general view of the console's library by the gaming media is very poor when compared to the other systems. None of that is opinionated, and very much factual.
opex07
What is factual about saying a system doesn't deserve to win?

How is it Backwards Compatible if I have to pay for Megaman 2 for the NES again just to play it on the Wii?

I said B/C etc.People generally refer to current gen games for the current gen consoles, when they talk about the current gen consoles' libraries.
No one's really referring to X-Men: The Arcade Game for XBLA or PSN, (even though it will be awesome). Etc.
It's called a price drop. Wii's going to finish this gen on top because they could probably sell the console for $75 and still make a profit.
It's going to be weaker but they could jumpstart sales with a price drop.

When it fails to best its opponents in so many different areas?
It's impossible to determine whether a console deserves sales or not because what might be a total failure to one person could be the best thing since sliced bread to another person. More people bought the Wii whether you like it or not. You can't make them buy 360s and PS3s...
I highly doubt they could sell it that low. At best they can probably sell it for $150 and still meet reasonable profit forecasts. It's called a price drop. Wii's going to finish this gen on top because they could probably sell the console for $75 and still make a profit.

And I don't really know how much of a sustained drive the Wii would have, I don't really think price is the limiting factor preventing people from getting it now really. It would probably spike, and then fade back. The Holiday season will be telling.
I can spin that pretty well actually... (atleast based on my opinion, and this is a general opinion across all platforms) Basically, I never buy 60 games in any given consoles life span... I think the most I have ever had was 40 on the SNES. A larger library obviously gives you more options, and its no secret that the Wii struggles in several genres that flourish on the 360 and PS3, but based entirely on my reasons for purchasing a system, if a game has atleast 10 games that I am interested in, I buy it... plain and simple. I never buy at launch because of this fact, but 60 games is more than enough to satiate my appetite for gaming on any console and guess what... the generation isn't close to being over yet, and i don't count out under AA quality games either, so that just adds more. everyone has their tastes, but i find it hard to believe that the majority need more than 60 AA or higher rated titles to consider the library great. If i get 20+ games over the consoles life span, no matter the quality, as long as I enjoy them, than in my opinion that is a great library.Just looking at reviews at this site the 360 has 162 AA and up rated games while the Wii only 65, I personally dont know how some one would be able to objectivily spin those numbers in a way to make the library look great in comparison.

Yes, well done. They're both very chaotic environments that are highly unpredictable.I think we all know that "analysts" are like the weather men of this industry. skinny_man_69
I will give you a hint of what they have in common: They both wear ties to a job that could be done by a monkeyskinny_man_69So you could provide a valid prediction of the weather beyond 1 or 2 days, or even predict the flow of the game market. This I would love to see. I am, of course, assuming that you have an intellectual level above that of a monkey, but maybe that was the joke.
this thread is a mixture of little facts, and lots of fanboyism. Which can be seen in the type of people posting here.
This isnt the first Wii is doomed thread, and im sure its not the last either.
But the only thing thats clear is that the wii is leading, and aslong at it still sells units, the ps360 wont catch up.
and which areas would that be? The only important one is the games themself, and that purely subjective
marcogamer07
One systems may have more games that appeal to someone, but that doesn't mean it has the better library. I'm sure most people interested in gaming, and not extremely bias can realize that the Wii is missing out on most of the quality titles this generation, and has very few developers that are willing to spend the time needed to make good games for the system. I'm not trying to be harsh, and don't believe the Wii to be a bad system on its own, I just believe that when compared to the other systems the Wii is lacking, and that should be apparent to any reasonable person.
I personally enjoyed my Xbox last generation more than the other consoles due to its online (my own appeal), but that's not going to stop me from seeing that most of the quality titles where on the PS2, which had a library far more massive then any other system before its time.
I said B/C etc.[QUOTE="LegatoSkyheart"]

Limbo is an incrediable game for the 360, and DeathSpank I've heard is awesome.
I don't know what you're insinuating with that type of people comment, but the fact is that the Wii just had it's weakest September ever and it's the first time it has ever been the third place console in the US. It's currently being outsold by the PS3 in Japan.this thread is a mixture of little facts, and lots of fanboyism. Which can be seen in the type of people posting here.

The Holiday may reverse this trend, but it's a wait and see, even Iwata has stated that a lot depends on how well the Wii does this Holiday, iirc.
It has built up a large lead, but that means nothing if publishers can't move their software on it in terms of getting games on the system.
The Wii could be pulled off the market for the next 3 years and the PS3 and 360 still probably wouldn't catch up... so I don't think it even matters. Pretty much everyone who wants a Wii has one at this point of course the sales are gonna slow down.
:| What does that even mean? It's sold way more than either of the other systems and even if it stopped selling for a few years it'd still end up in first. How the hell is it going to be erased?the Wii was a mistake that is gonna be earesed soon.
