Hey guys, does SMG have better graphics than Banjo?
BioShockOwnz
Not even close, but it sure is brighter, and like others have said, more pop to its color.
This topic is locked from further discussion.
why all the hate for the game?
BK was a popular franchise, and it has been resurrected. we should all be happy that a company is doing what gamers want, instead of ripping what looks like a fun game to shreds
[QUOTE="Dreams-Visions"]you guys are hilarious. you have no idea what he's doing. the picture is obviously to show off the lighting, attention to detail and parallax mapping.
GundamGuy0
Here's a hilarious question for you. Why does Banjo&Kazooie need an Airplane in the first place since Kazooie can fly... and wasn't the flying one of the best parts of the first game... It was IMO.
Um, because maybe airplanes are cool?
btw for those who havent noticed yet there is a musical note down below in this screen. I figured someone was going to say something but no one did so there you go.
On my HDTV, I think the colors will pop more in Banjo. The Wii not being HD kinda makes things a little less attractive when you can only go up to 480p.
BioShockOwnz
What are you talking about... Color and HD have nothing to do with each other...

lol do I work for Rare now? relax, wait and see.
lets not by hpercritical fanboys on day 1.
Sorry that wasn't you, it was another person in this thread. I know that the other parts might be there, but...I can only comment on what I know and form what i've seen the game looks meh.
GundamGuy0
I completly understand your point of view. But let me give you my side.
I have waited for screenshots of this game for 8 years now. When you are deprieved of a franchise for that long, and that last representation of a series you had was on the Nintendo 64, it's OMG I JUST S*** my pants reaction when you encounter a flood shots in one hour. That's my personal explanation for your observation of everyone being excited for graphics but the lack of enemies (I accidently deleted that from your quote on accident. I think that's the gist of it though).
I also can't wait to drive around that vast open space in this:
I'm excited because of t how much fun this game looks, with the in game tools Rare has provided.
[QUOTE="Dreams-Visions"]you guys are hilarious. you have no idea what he's doing. the picture is obviously to show off the lighting, attention to detail and parallax mapping.
dewmandew7
The lighting is pretty mediocre... :?
I think it's pretty sexy. Did you ever see the lighting and particle effects in Kameo (a launch game)? I think it's safe to assume this will be one fine *** game.
[QUOTE="BioShockOwnz"]Hey guys, does SMG have better graphics than Banjo?

Not even close, but it sure is brighter, and like others have said, more pop to its color.
more use of primary colors = more pop. that's neither a good or bad thing. simply a design choice. if Rare wanted Banjo brigher, they'd just step up the contrast.

480p on a widescreen HDTV makes things more blurry and the colors are more drown out.

Compared to what? Ever played Kameo? The of the most herralded parts of that game was the use of particles and lighting. this looks even better. the scope of the lighting. the draw distance. very impressive.

No, not really... not from my experiences... It does make things more blurry, but the colors don't be come washed out because of it.

I think he's talking about the contrast ratio of his TV. HDTVs tend to have larger contrast ratios.

depends on the HDTV. depends on the tint, brightness and contrast settings.btw for those who havent noticed yet there is a musical note down below in this screen. I figured someone was going to say something but no one did so there you go.

I was talking about that image with the airplane you guys have been talking about for awhile. The message was getting kind of long so I erased some of the quotes.

You can actually see over 10 Mustical notes in that screen, they're all over the place.

We know the Wii looks bad on many HDTVs, as most HDTVs do not resolve 480i/p very well. they weren't designed to.
I have found that the Wii looks much better on Plasma than LCD for some reason, though.

I read it right and it sounded like you were disappointed because of the graphics...
see i based my oppinion based on what i see ... your basing your oppinions based of what you imagine the game will be like.
I never said the game was horrible, i'm just not very impressed with the way the graphics look.humber_matus
That was the only negative thing you could say about it, so doubting the entire game when all you're uncomfortable with is the graphics just doesn't sound right.
nobody complained when all the PS2 games looked like trash in comparison to the PC and Xbox 1 games.
but assuming that most of those Banjo 3 screens are from the Multiplayer portion those look great.
if they are indeed from the multiplayer portion, then that would explain a whole lot.
Yea, if they are from multiplayer then that could explain it. But they have a lot of time to polish the game & hopefully these aren't representative of the final product anyway.

Yes, i've noticed that too, but that aside the color pop of a game isn't effected by what Resolution it's outputted in, or what size screen it's played on... It's crazy to think that games that look vibrant in SD will look washed out because they are desplayed on an HDTV...

As I said before, it's due to contrast ratio. HDTVs tend to have higher contrast ratios, thus, colors pop out more.

This is exactly the wrong response a Screen Shot should elicit.

I agree with you it's Bioshockownz's that seems to think that Banjo Kazooie will have more color contrast then pop then SMG because it's in native HD...

XD if anything it makes it a collectable... which it is... it has been in the past two games why change now... XD
I just wanted to point out that wasn't the only one...
Multiplayer confirmed.
how else could there be TWO banjos racing each other?
Awinagainov
exactly what I've been thinking. I think these are screens of some multiplayer racing mode. like Mario Kart...but with any kind of vehicle you want.
MotorStorm comes to mind. Same race...same finish line, but different paths for different vehicles.
:D OMG, it's sooo pretty. *waiting for the cow bashing to start*BioShockOwnz
You have become the biggest fanboy on this board and it is really starting to annoy me...+ u're avatar freaks me out.
Anyway, as for the game...it is starting to look wayyyyy to kiddy for my tastes. However, it will probably turn out to be a solid game.
So, we've all concluded that that domed room is some sort of multiplayer Colosseum, right?dewmandew7
Yes and no... they all appear to be domed execpt for one... maybe two shots... and the first domed shot whith the clouds and banjo on the hill appears to be single player... as it's got music notes floating around... unless they have a wierd collect the notes multiplayer game...
Also the trasnports seem to play a role in the single player as well, if you go by the Jolly Roger Pick, and the fact that Mumbo's work shop appears to be a custimization station, that doesn't seem pratical for Multiplayer...
So, we've all concluded that that domed room is some sort of multiplayer Colosseum, right?dewmandew7
Either way, I don't give a flying damn. Then again, I don't whine about something evolving and doing some new things.
It's a platformer. What do you think it is? It's some sort of collectible, duh. :P
dewmandew7
Well...yeah.:P
But I meant it's function. Notes in the original were used to learn new moves and open doors to new worlds. I'm just curious whether notes serve the same purpose or a new one.
lol yeah i was kinda dissapointed by all those vehicles, but looks like those are Multiplayer screens.
cant wait for the videos.

Most likely it will be the same in this game. The only game I've played from these guys is Donkey Kong 64 (which ROCKED!).
