Vehicles... definatly have ruined the game! imo at this stage.Pure_AwesomeIt's ruined eh?

Looks great but I'm bummed about the vehicle focus. Call me old fashioned but I'd be just as happy with another great banjo platformer as i would be with this. Doing something new doesn't have to change to focus of a game... thats done all too often imo.
And this coming in a time where the gaming world sorely lacks good platformers... Oh well. I'm sure it will still be a great game, just not in the way I had hoped.

Welcome to the world of PC gamers, but I don't think it will be as bad as you are thinking.
I dont understand how this can be touted as the best graphics, they are extremely close to Ratchet and Clanks. Nothing is visually outstanding they accomplished one thing, add vivid bright colorful colors to the game, same thing halo 3 and ratchet and clank did, none of those games are amazingly graphical, but they all do their part very well.WOWZORSyou say it has lots of color others say it doesn't have enough. I think the graphics are amazing.
I said WOW, this just might be the prettiest game I'veever seen
Nick_D7
wow those looks very good in deed very colourful

Wow, you haven't even played the game and yet you say it's ruined.
I think he means ruined as a Banjo game, it can still be a great game but considering everyone was dead excited for it because of previous Banjos and were looking forward to a platformer on the 360, some even touting it as being better than Galaxy. It's a shock to fans of the series that it's now a vehicle game...
This preview has sucked 100% of my excitement about this game right out of me. This is one of the games I bought a 360 for and now they've turned it into a jumbled mess. I want a PLATFORMER not some hybrid platform/car creator/racer.
I love Banjo for the characters and the gameplay. I don't like those other elements. As an example, I was enjoying R&C:SM, my first R&C game, but I got annoyed with some of the "minigame" aspects and HATE those hoverraces, so now I stopped playing half way thourgh. I can see a similar future for me with this game.
Why take something that worked so well and then change it so drastically. I thought this was going to be one of the titles that expanded the 360 audience, but instead they just perverted BK to fit the audience they already had.
1. R&C TOD looks million times better then this game
2. i dont like the way this game looks
3. after looking at these screens, im not looking forward to this gamemingo123
my advise would be to not buy it and cease any further interest in the game

The same Banjo games wouldn't be that exciting. Just because you were a kid when you played the original Banjo and that was a time when you got excited about anything, doesn't mean it would work again now when you are pratically an adult.
I am no longer excited for this game. Until I see some Platforming elements this game is dead to me.web966
Pretty much the same here.
Oh great topics merged into a sticky...
Now I'm all lost in the discussion >Sliverwarrior
you wasnt discussing, you we're just post in every thread about how devisated you are that rare have messed with your banjo formula and that your not going to be buying the game becouse of this

Its true that so far the game doesn't look in my opinion.
But that doesn't mean I wasn't following the dicussion other people had in their topics.

He said until which means if a new trailer featuring cool platforming elements gets out then he might change his mind.

Wow gotta love Lemmings, before the info was released you were all jumping to conclusions saying how this was going to be an awesome platformer and judging how the game would be awesome, based on nothing, and now after we've got a load of information, and know how the game will play, you are saying people are jumping to conclusions? Yeah that doesn't seem hypocritical at all...

whats it to you, youve jumed at everyone who is upset by this. in the interview it says the main aspect of the game is to build vehicles to acomplish tasks, sounds like a vehice game to me and everbody else. i mean were is the damn platforming that we loved in the original two games? i and many others dont want a driving game, we want what made the original two games so great Excellent Platforming in large worlds. this isnt banjo theyve essentially made this a spin off rather than a sequel to me and the many fans of the series, we havent been waiting all this time for a spin off :|.

I'm a lemming now eh? That's cute, I guess. Unlike most of you on here I actually own all the current gen consoles. But yes, it's been said time and time again that there is traditional platforming in the game yet you continue to give out misinformation.
People...you're not kids anymore. Just because you were easily impressed back then doesn't mean you would be now even if they went for the same thing.Ilived
So what about the fact that I played BK as an adult, or the fact that there have been a few good platformers in the last couple years: SPM, SMG, and Sonic:atSR.
Platformers died because developers moved on to other genres. That does not make platformers bad or boringor that the genre should have died.

There may be traditional platforming elements, but maybe its like 20% of the game platforming and 80% vehicle.
Maybe not, but so far based on the trailer, its not looking good.
When more trailers/interview gets released, we'll learn more.

How do you think you get all the vehicle parts, guys? By adventuring, just like before.BioShockOwnz
I think people are missing what you said so I'm going to quote you again in hopes people read it.

Said it before...the whole 3d thing was new and these games were all new and you were impressed. Surely you understand the same game would not give you that experience back.

I read it, but maybe we are going to get more parts by I dunno, maybe blowing up other vehicles?
We can't be sure of anything at this point.

The trailer was just to show off the vehicles since the Vehicles are new to the Series. Many people said it had Traditional Platforming and that you didn't even need the vehicles if you didn't want to but you might for some Boss battles.[QUOTE="BioShockOwnz"]How do you think you get all the vehicle parts, guys? What if people don't want vehicules parts through?I'm not happy my thread was locked since it had links to the trailer and multiple previews but oh well.
Mumbo looks awesome btw!
I've waited so long for today.
{EDIT 1} From IGN:
To say that Banjo has completely abandoned its traditional platformer roots wouldn't quite be accurate. Our hero may have lost most of his moves in favor of his new toys, but he still has a trick or two up his sleeve. He can lift things up with Mumbo, climb poles, shimmy across tight ropes, grab onto ledges and hop around like a madman, to name a few of his talents. These will come into play more in the larger hub worlds. I got a look at the first of seven hubs, called Showdown Town (this region, by the way, is the largest single gameplay region for a Rare game yet). These areas restrict the game slightly, paring it down to something more traditional. The point of these hubs? These are where players look for game globes, and other collectibles like Jiggies, to bring back and activate. Each game globe found gives access to new levels. That's where the real fun begins.
