New combat footage from God of War Ragnarok!

The camera is still terrible sadly, would be nice if they zoomed the camera out so you could see all the enemies......kinda like the old games.

Looks good, surprised this game didn't even crack the top 3 most anticipated PS5 games at Gamescom. Maybe a sign they're haven't done enough to promote it yet. I would think with its release no too far off they'd be doing more to promote it. But they're supposed to have some event in a few days maybe they'll kick it off then.

And if they do promote it, hopefully that news isn't overshadowed by news of a Bloodborne remaster/sequel or news of a lack of either.

Or just put in fixed cameras like in the old games, so that the controls don't have to be assigned like a first/third-person shooter's and Kratos can jump, allowing more ways to evade and more attacks. There's nothing impressive about presenting a video game with a single camera shot. Better to use camera angles that can emphasize scale and reveal to the player what is around them (instead of using artificial warning prompts). Because of how much you use the dodge, you are constantly moving your thumb from stick to Circle button, always waiting until two seconds later the enemies are out of your field of view again and you have to move your thumb from Circle to stick again. Terrible.

You do know that God of War and Elden Ring are two totally different games, right?

And after playing through God of War for the second time on PC recently, this looks nearly identical to the first one.

That's because it wasn't even at Gamescom.

Day 1 purchase for sure. I thought Atreus would've been a bit older and more useful in combat but whatever lol

It looks great, but lets not pretend that this doesn't look like an expansion to GoW2018. The combat system is more cinematic than Fromsoft offerings, but its also super spammy unless you're playing on max difficulty (and if you aren't on your first playthrough, you're a bit pussy).

Visually, yea, but gameplay wise, its a bigass open world game, way different from anything they've made before. Ragnarok has the exact same level structure (which i liked a lot, so its not a negative), combat system, returning enemies, etc.

That trailer has not moved the needle for me. I had significantly more interest in HFW and that game flopped for me.

As someone who loves God of War 4, I don't need to see the combat trailer to know how Ragnarok will play so I'm already set & ready to play and I do expect God of War: Ragnarok vs Elden Ring GOTY contender at the VGA 2022.

If GoW is Sony's flagship title, then it looks light years ahead of Infinite, and not just visually, but production as a whole. Its not even comparable lol. Nintendo stopped competing with the release of the Wii cuz they knew they couldn't. And now MS is looking so far behind with their 500-600m flagship title that it wouldn't surprise me if next year Phil announce defeat, and says something similar to what Nintendo said. You simply can't compete with Sony. Too damn much talent under one roof, and notice how nobody is ever leaving? That's right, there's no reason to leave any of the Sony studios because the management is excellent and they're successfully developing world class games that are permanently winning GOTY awards.

Microsoft must be so jelly. As as a Sony fan, all i can say to Microsoft and its fans is that you can look but you can't touch. That's it.

Interesting to see if atreus do more than just firing his silly bow. I love the GOW 2018 but i havent seen much inprovement combat wise. Not saying its a bad thing.

I feel real bad for everyone that is not gonna be able to play this thing in a few months. Must feel so bad. God damn guaranteed masterpiece made by one of the best studios in the industry, and not only are you not gonna play the game, but you're also pretending like its not worth playing. Time to stop being in denial.

I’m not sure what I’m missing here, but I never really cared for GOW, I haven’t played the last one and I really don’t care about playing it.

The game just looks really boring to me. I just don’t understand the excitement for this game.

Now I don’t like any of the souls games as well, I just never can’t get into them, but I did love Blodeborne and put about 98 hours into it, but Elden Ring was something else, that game was just amazing, I played that game for an average of 10-12 hours a day and finish 8 journeys for a total of 482 hours, I have never been addicted to a game this bad since Mario 64.

Oh well back to playing HFW so I can finish it, and buy TLOU part 1 again for the 4th time, but this time for the PS5, I really wish they had another special edition

It might be because you're older than 14, and have the mindset of someone over 20. You're looking for more things in your games than what GoW offers, pretty simple.

i'm with pedro, same experience with hzd vs hfw, was never a huge fan of gow 2018, and i really do not want to hear gameplay described with phrases like "by mashing triangle."

but i really want something to look forward to, so still hoping this is a proper sequel and not expansion in sequel clothing

Its among the worst game I have ever played. apart from nice graphics and animation. its 1/10 game.

Boring, dull, trash combat, too much walking segment, cinematics. I did played even longer than 2 hours actually before giving it up. and during my playthrough i feel like I was doing absolutely nothing.
