Wow, if I thought of hell, then this is exactly what I'd think of. Just sickening... and I'm loving it. What say you? Looks sick and awesome, right?

I can't watch it right now D: Was it awesome?IronBass
Indeed, it is. Wait until you see the final enemy and what you do to it. Eeek.
Up until I saw this, I thought this was going to be a teen game...
it's awesome, but can't beat tearing off Helios' head
*pre watching* Better be awesome.........*shakes fist* *post watching* I'm glad they're going with each circle as you said. It was my deciding factor for this game, and it just sold me. SOLD.aaronmullan
Finally! We like the same game! :P
If only the game didn't rip GOW so hard, then maybe i would give it some ratings.Adrian_Cloud
Just like GoW ripped off many of its games before it quite hard. Every developer does it, even dear Polyphony. :o Oh wait, did Kratos journey through the 9 circles of hell? Yeah, Dante's Inferno should be cute and colorful! I mean, that's hell. What's supposed to be different in Dante's Inferno? I can't imagine it any other way.
Will it play any good though? majadamus
Of course. Visceral Games (Dead Space) aren't going to throw themselves down the drain.

SW is hell.I officially declare this the Dead Space of 2010 (ie, sleeper hit that blows away everyone's expectations).
Looking forward to this more than GoWIII.
Also, does anyone know what engine this game is running on?aflakian
I'm pretty sure it uses their in-house engine, which they also used for Dead Space.

Gameplay man, obviously not story :| What games did GOW rip from hard? *thinks* I like Bayonetta, too! But yeah. I'm pretty excited for this now. I hope they chug out the Dev diaries because I want to get a better look at this game.[QUOTE="BioShockOwnz"][QUOTE="Adrian_Cloud"]If only the game didn't rip GOW so hard, then maybe i would give it some ratings.Adrian_Cloud

And there were many 2D games that did the GoW formula. There were other 3D games, of course, too.
GoW is ripoff. Damn. :(

You actually thought it was going to be a teen game? It look like a M game from the start.
Anyway that video was awesome. Some of those concept art look really disturbing.
Damn, i don't even know if i want GoW III anymore...between this and bayonetta i think my action needs will be sufficently taken care of
I am loving the game's art direction

You get more irrational with every post man,.So your comeback is an insult? Damn, I must've did a good job. You acted like GoW was some revolutionary action/adventure game in 3D. That was an argument you set up. I'm sorry if I proved that GoW wasn't the first, or the best for that matter. But hey, Alan Wake is still comparable to PS2 games, right? And I'm irrational? ...
Yep, that is the Hell that Dante depicted in the Divine Comedy.
Looking great. And I know the gameplay will be good as well. The guys over at Visceral Games really do know what they are doing. Dead Space is a game that you can play and really find nothing glaringly wrong about it... Should have been on more GotY lists than it actually was on. I bet this will end up the same way.

Im sure thats what people thought about Creative Assembly and Stormrise. "It CA! The guys behind Total War! What can possibly go wrong!?" The fact is with every new franchise, anything is possible. The only game I know from Visceral Games is Dead Space, and while that was a great game, its just one game, hardly enough for me to consider them a "reliable developer". Im going to wait on this with "cautious optimism". And for some reason, this game seems like a GoW knock off. Yes, I realize that most games borrow from other games, but this game (from the gameplay videos) looks like it takes that idea to the next level.Edit: The last "boss" woman in that video reminds me of Atropos in GoW2 :P

The difference is Creative Assembly has multiple teams. The Total War team was behind Empire: Total War(which turned out great). The Spartan: Total Warrior team was behind Stormrise...
As for this game being a GoW knockoff... No. It is not. It is an Action game. But in terms of story, mood, and actual structure, it isn't a GoW clone. And if you want to say that it is, then you have to also say that GoW is a Ninja Gaiden clone(mentioned above by someone else)... Look beyond your initial impression.

And God of War was the first to do those things? Heck no. They are both hack and slash action games which is why they feel similar is some ways. Dante's Inferno as a GoW rip-off is so BS.

Hey, I guess we disagree. Im just telling you the vibes I get from this game. It all feels very "GoW-ish" to me. I also hope they change the "orangish goop" into blood or atleast make it look better, and I'm not a fan on the main character's character design.1) Looks badass.
2) They completely misinterpreted the meaning of "lust" in the context of Hell.
3) I can easily see this game getting slapped with an AO rating and receiving huge backlash from the Christian community.

In the trailer, his weapons extends to grip enemies, like Kratos. In the trailer, he sticks his weapon in a large beast to control it, exactly like GOW3.
It definetly rips off a lot.

If GoW 3 doesnt get an AO rating, then I doubt this game will, unless the ESRB is smoking crack. But I agree with your comments regarding the Fundamentalist Christian community, but then again, when are they not pissed off ? :P

I knew it. Did you see Stormrise gameplay? Not quite a Dante's Inferno in quality. And Creative Assembly had a warning on them ever since Viking. They created some other mediocre titles, too. Not exactly the greatest dev, though they do have some great ones, as which you named one.
