Based on previews, I'd say it improved a lot since the original. I really don't see this game failing anymore, except by falling short of its substantial hype.

I'm a little skeptical about the gameplay after watching IGN's extended cut, but I think the incredible apocalyptic atmosphere will help cover up its shortcomings. It's like really being in a war zone.

it really doesnt at this point in production (pre alpha)...killzone's textures are really washed out

take off the fanboy goggles, and you will see that Halo 3 doesnt look like Halo 2, and Kilzone doesnt look near as good as the trailer

looks good, needs some work on the textures, Its on par with COD 4 IMO.-wii60-

the difference is cod 4 wiil be released in 2 months and killzone has still alot of miles to go before release....

In graphics maybe, but I don't see it kiling it overall...the weapons don't seem to have the kick they had in the original (which is bad, as the weapons were probably the first's only saving grace), but then again, at least the voice acting, music and AI seems a little better this time around 0_0

Another issue is the level they shown....it was certainly epic, but then again, so was the first level of Killzone. From then on it was just corridor skirmishes and repetative enviroments.

agreed. wth is up with the halo fanboys. your game has good gameplay for (fps noobs that is) but stop saying the killzone graphics are little better then halo. there is a HUGE difference in graphics. halo is just a fruity version of war to me.

On the Playstation Underground forums in the Killzone Mess Hall there was a topic called "Ask the dev" and I asked about the textures.

Motherh clearly stated that -- the textures are actually quite good, it's the blur that is making them seem shoddy. It's just a bug.

actually much more then 1min. he played through an entire mission right infront of alllll the journalists. there is a youtube video up of the dev actually holding the ps controller while the level progressed.

Um where the hell have you been??? N'Gai Croal, one of the leading gaming journalist has a World Exclusive HANDS-ON of Killzone. Read up on what he says and then come back.

N'Gai Croal, editor at Newsweek, played it. He's the only person other than Guerrilla that's played it IIRC.
