New Star Citizen ship pack unlocks nearly every vessel in the game for $27,000
Yawn!!! a game that is never going to release asking us to pay 1000 of dollars for nothing.
This is ridiculous. its not even a video game at this point.

Lol at people who defend this vaporware
exactly whats next? selling solar system for 1 billion dollar?
its mid of 2018 and i have been saying since 3 years that this is scam and is never going to released.
I’ve run out of popcorn lol.
But anyways, I backed SC and SQ42; am really hoping the games make it to retail release, and usually cut Chris Roberts and Co. a lot of slack, but yeah a $27,000 pretty much “All existing ships and Perks” pledge package is just plain insane on every level.
Maybe it’s just me, but I think the actual story here is that there are enough people in the world who can and will spend $27,000 on a video game that doesn’t even exist to make it worth someone’s time to market a package just for them and let's not forget there was just one guy who actually spend millions of dollars into this kickstarter that someone made a thread here 2/3 years ago. So yeah, you got people who hates money so this doesn't surprise me either way.
Thats why I'd rather have a company funding a AAA game and a platform than a Kickstarter.
Exactly publisher funding is still better than crowd funding. Every crowdfunding game failed. even system shock remake is suffering because of all crowd funding crap.
This is beyond a joke at this point... But then again, people deserve being taken advantage of, they are asking to be scammed at this point.
As much as I’m enjoying SC right now I have to call out this bullshit. I pity the fools that will spend this kind of money especially when all the ships are going to unlockable for free when the game comes out. Must be people with way more money than brains that will spend this kind of money on a game that may not release.
I spent $45 on the game a long time ago when that kind of money got you access to Star Citizen as well as SQ42. I’ve spent a little bit more than that since then to upgrade from my tiny starter ship but it was with pocket change and money I wouldn’t miss because at the end of the day I know it’s a risky venture to spend serious money on a kickstarter. For the hundreds of hours I’ve spent playing the Alpha I’d say my money has been well spent. If CIG decide to cut and run I won’t be salty, but for people spending thousands of dollars on Chris Roberts' promises, they would probably be suicidal.
I think I'll put my kid through college instead tyvm.
Thousands of dollars of DLC for Train Simulator is one thing, but at least that game actually exists.
I'm a Star Citizen backer but I fail to comprehend how anyone can spend that much money on getting everything in a game. There's no point as there will literally be no point in playing the game as you'd have everything that could be achieved through playing it.
If someone wants to spend that much money though, who am I to tell them they can't?
Edit: By the way, $1000 to see the package is because it is only available to a section of the community called "Concierge" and to be part of that group you need to have already spent $1000 or more. It's not you need to spend a $1000, just to see that package.

The problem is its mid of 2018 and people still believe star citizen is a something other than scam. when its not.
they will always show pre alpha beta and want us to pay 10000 dollar for ships.
This all feels eerily alike what the church used to do, selling patches of land in heaven, a place that doesn't exist... except in this case they are selling goods in a virtual place that'll also never exist.
This guy already spent that much. So, they want to see if others are willing as well....

The fact that he said "Everything is clear in the up, disposable income. I wasn’t stupid in that regard, you know." is cracking me up

I seen fewer guys who will spend millions of dollars on a single woman lol, yeah more money then brains alright.
As a backer, I only bought the Aegis Sabre Ship and that's as much as I have spend on. But the smartest thing I done was making sure my Credit Card Co. will be ready to get my money back should Chris Roberts turn into another Sean Murray situation.

To be fair, it was his own money, he can spend it however he wants, doesn't effect me, one way or the other. I'm more amaze everyone got upset with him spending $30k and this is all on him, not anyone around him.
They really make it hard to defend the game sometimes with crap like this. For that much someone might as well own a small stock/share in the game.
If I had that kind of money to toss at anything I'd be doing better things than playing games. Like buying a yacht.
I don't see the problem
no problem selling nothing for 27000 dollar?
How is this nothing?
It has as much value as anything you buy digitally
I can buy expensive car at this price if i had this money. why would i pay for fictional ship?

At that point, it's much more of a "I want to support the devs with my humongous paycheck" and free advertisement from people talking about it

I own an Aegis Sabre and a MISC Freelancer and I won't be spending a dime more until the game releases. I've also made arrangements with my credit card company in case Chris decides to pull a fast one.

? There have been more than a few success stories from crowd funding.

It must be the worst scam in history then, because they are actually spending the money on making the game. Over 400 staff and 5 studios in 4 countries isn't exactly the best thing to keep running when you are scamming people.
If it was me I'd have high tailed it at $6 million or at the very most at $20 million, certainly long before people were actually expecting to see something.
I'll pass this to Mr Montoya to eloquently explain (of course you won't watch this video and just come back with the usual nonsense about how he's a backer and a fan)
Thanks for confirming this games existence bothers you
Keep crying over optional support packages that give something back
