According to the person, NSMB Wii will out sell Modern Warfare 2! But the catch is, it's gonna out sell on ONE platform, not combined.

And it will outsell the PC, maybe the PS3, but not the 360. WAY too much hype for it to not sell well.

might do, what did modern warfare sell highest on? was it like 7 million on 360? if so it should be able to beat that, Nintendo games tend to sell a lot and i would think Mario bros wii would be no exception.

I'm actually pretty surprised at the preorder numbers from modern warfare 2, i thought with the sales declining with waw, we would see similar sales, but it seems people are taking the modern warfare name over the call of duty name. with the highest amount of preorders ever i'm not quite sure what the sales will be, it might absolutely obliterate modern warfare sales.

Well, considering the majority of Wii owners are going to buy something with "Mario" slapped on the box. I think it can outsell MW2, in the long run. Because Nintendo games have to tendency to sell more after a long time. So I think at launch MW2 will sell better, but give Mario a few months and he just may out sell it. Mario2007

Its possible New Super Mario Bros. on the DS is still in the top ten sales charts still to this day and it was released in 2005 or 2006.

At release? No. Over time? Yes. Mario games seem to sell very well over time instead of just selling millions on day 1 and then never being heard from again.

NSMBWii will sell a lot because it appeals to a larger demographic than MW2. I don't think it will outsell MW2 across all three platforms, but it could be close.

People think COD4 sold unbeleivable on the 360 so much so that the Wii can't touch should probably understand that Nintendo franchises like Smash and Mario do those types of sales on one platform often.

Before January NPD? Not a chance in hell of beating them combined. After? Could happen. It will easily beat COD on one platform though.

I was just about to say its going to outsell it with all 3 platforms combined but then i remembered something.

Mario games are long sellers. Meaning they wont do 4 million in the first month but will do 10 million in the 1st year. So what game is coming out in the first half of 2010 for the Wii? Super Mario Galaxy 2. That will with no doubt in my mind engulf the NSMB hype and take away sales. Maybe SMG2 will get pushed back? we'll have to wait and see there.

If it wasnt for SMG2, then i would say it would sell more than all 3 combined.

But like Reggie said, this will easily and most definately outsell MW2 on a single platform. Although im not too sure if it'll happen by the end of January.

I love it when fanboys underestimate Nintendos first party game sales. This one will be a big hit. I would guess no less than 12 Million units sold. On what platform is COD going to sell 12 million plus on now?

It probably will, Wii first party titles can sell more than any other game ver, its so natural that by now its not even a big deal.

Its possible. Nintendo games tend to sell well for a very long time. I'm expecting MW2 to outdo it in the first few months though.
