According to the person, NSMB Wii will out sell Modern Warfare 2! But the catch is, it's gonna out sell on ONE platform, not combined.

It can easily outsell MW1 on one console. Though beating MW2 on two consoles will depend on how long of legs will NSMB have.

I'd feel bad for taking your dollar. NSMBW won't get outsold 2-1. Hell, you're assuming it will only sell like 4 million copies if COD360 does about 8. No way,, I wouldn't be surprised if NSMBWii sells 12 million units.

It's very possible due to the fact that the Wii's target audience only seems interested in Nintendo games anyway, and the HD consoles have a massive influx of great new games besides just MW2. The problem with this is what difference does it make how much a Nintendo game sells? Nintendo is going to make games for their own system regardless and no matter how much it sells it's not going to motivate any third parties in any meaningful way, so who cares how much the new mario sells except for Nintendo and maybe Gamestop? If anything seeing only Nintendo games sell massive amounts on the Wii just disheartens third parties even more as they have no desire to try and compete with Nintendo on their own platform as has always been the case, but this gen this disparity is far greater even then it ever was in the past.

If you would've read the post or if you've even paid attention to the 9 billion threads about this since Reggie said it on GTTV Thursday night, he said NSMB would outsell MW2 on a single platform.

Meaning if the PS3 version sells 3 million and NSMB sells 6 million, 6 > 3 meaning, guess what? Reggie was right.

This. I'm amazed by the amount of "Not possibles". It's not like Mario games have a bad track record. They are some of the greatest selling games of all time. I think it would be a crazy bet to say NSMBW won't outsell any platform version of MW2. I don't think all versions of MW2 are going to sell 6 million+, and I fully expect NSMBW to get atleast that over a year or so.

If you only consider one platform (it doesn't matter which one) I have no doubt that will happen. When it comes to all the platforms I say that in the long run New Super Mario Bros. Wii may catch up.

Well, considering the majority of Wii owners are going to buy something with "Mario" slapped on the box. I think it can outsell MW2, in the long run. Because Nintendo games have to tendency to sell more after a long time. So I think at launch MW2 will sell better, but give Mario a few months and he just may out sell it. Mario2007

The Wii has a userbase of over 50million. If this game only sold to 1/5 of its userbase that would be 10million copies. Not to mention new Wii owners who will buy it. The game is accessible, nostalgic and has the most recognized mascot in the world in it. I think its chances of outselling MW2 on one platform is a given, if not on all 3 platforms in the long run.

New Super Mario Bros. for the DS sold over 19 or 20 million copies.

I'm pretty sure NSMBW will outsell MW2. Maybe not in the first month or two.

But it will eventually outsell it. ;)

Wii will outsell Modern Warfare 2 on the Xbox 360 and the PlayStation 3 combined in the long-run. In the short-run, however, it is hard to tell whether or not the game will outsell Modern Warfare 2 on either platform.

Read the first post. He said on at least one system, not combined sales. That includes PC. The Wii is full of casual gamers that will eat this up, there is a very good chance that it will.

Well,CoD4 on PS3 and 360 combined sold 12.6 mill (don't know PC numbers)

NSMB sold 19.66 mill

So, I guess we'll see.

Nintendo's actually strong point and company objectiveisnt to producethe quality of games but the SALES of games.
Even still, only fanboys dream would mw2 be outsold.

With that being said, MW2 will still be better
