it might. lately alot of ps3/360 owners have been recieving alot of good games and might be getting broke (younger ones that is). but wii owners have been waiting a while for a quality game. espeacially that its mario it will sell well on the wii which hasn't had a good game since ssbb which came out march last year.

nsmb wii will have to sell alot though because mw2 is very popular.

NSMB will sell in the millions in japan alone where the Wii is still king in sales.

Would it make more sense to go up against two or perhaps even all three competing systems? Doing it on a system versus system basis is the best way of comparing success in my opinion.

Which is a silly thing to do. Where is the logic in comparing sales of one game available for one platform to sales of another game available for three platforms? Perhaps Reggie had more faith in gamers, believing that they will actually see where he is coming from without them utilising their own fallacies without question like you suggest.
