I don't know what you are prattling on about, but I discredit the praise of any game, regardless if I like it or not. The fact of the matter is, reviews are opinions, not facts, and cannot be used to "prove" that such-and-such game is "better" than another or "best" overall. Claiming that "SMG is the greatest game ever, because it is the most highly critically praised game" is not much of an argument, or really, any discussion at all.

We (I at least) come here for discussion, not the espousal of opinions as facts. You yourself are playing up SMG2's soundtrack as something greater than even sliced bread, and I would have to disagree with that appraisal, as I am entitled to do so (you seem to imply I am not, and there is some "deeper rooted issue" than merely just my own opinions that differ from yours). It is a discussion, and if you can't handle negative opinions, then don't make a thread.

Reviews is basically what everyone here cares about, so thats why I even brought up the GameRankings page - Like I said, its essentially all this board is about.

I don't "care so much to disagree"... I just disagree. I don't understand... am I not allowed to disagree? Are my opinions just going to be mocked and written off as "ridiculous" because they disagree with the majority? Why do you find my opinions funny?

You say "no offense" yet completely write off my opinions as ridiculous and entertaining. Seems kind of contradictory to me. It also seems like many people here have problems accepting the fact that Nintendo is not free from criticism, and that there are in fact people out there who don't worship them as gods.

SMG had some of the best music I've ever heard in a videogame, (not sure if that's saying much but still) so relaxing and Disneyish ... SMG2 looks to continue the trend.

The theme doesn't sound any more impressive than any other piece of orchestrated music in video games. You make it seem as if this is the greatest thing since sliced bread, when it is merely just another brand of bread.

Liking a specific music is subjective. You can have your opinion on the soundtrack and the game, even though I recall you lot liking or have no interest in 3d platformers, and that is fine but putting words on the TC's post is foolish. He said the soundtrack was beautiful but never thought it was the greatest musical piece ever.

What hyperbole? The "My god the music!" part? I really do like it. SMG's OST is one of my favourite game soundtracks ever.

And the bolded part?...yeah, i dont know whats up with that cuz i really fail to see anything beyond this being a hype thread of a sequel to an extremely popular and praised game. A game many here cant wait to play.

I'm still waiting for the explanation. You said it yourself that Halo 3/ODST > SMG so therefore I'm asssuming you posted these ODST music tracks as to say that these tracks are better then SMG2's music. Or am I wrong?

It's funny how all these people like foxhound are trying so hard, SMG is the best game this gen and some happend to love it on a personal level aswell, not just critically, and for them, it's like heaven.

Nostalgiagasm at the Super Mario World music in one of the Yoshi clips! Well, technically is it nostalgia if I only played Super Mario World for the first time in 2007? Either way it's still awesome and definitely the highlight of those videos for me.

Nintendo does a superb job on music period.

Mario's soundtrack has always been good and Zelda has the best music I have heard in any videogame IMO.
