If that's true, you should probably go to the doctor to get that concussion checked out.
Look here's the thing, I have a feeling that alot of people here are disapointed because they were expecting the next Skyward Sword trailer to be an epic story trailer like Twilight Princess's trailers, but instead we got a gameplay trailer showing us a couple of new elements and improvements, was very similar to the first SS trailer. But you have to consider where this was being shown. GDC is not E3 by a long shot. It is targeted towards the developers in the audience who may work with Nintendo in the future. This trailer was showing the devs what the wii, and the motion plus are capable of. I'm sure at E3 we will see a TON of information about SS and we will get the story trailer we so desperatly want.
Oh and as a side note to all the Zelda fans who are worried, I think this may be the kind of game you need to play to really get a feeling for. From previews and stuff I have heard that it is pretty awesome, so I remain hopeful:D
Oh and as a second side note IS THAT SKULL KID WITH MAJORAS MASK AT 32 seconds into the trailer!!!

That's it, if that IS Skull Kid, then screw my Zelda hating crusade, I'm hyping this AAAAAAAAAE (any game with any connection to Majora's Mask is automatically in the running for the greatest ever).
[QUOTE="Sp4rtan_3"]I love how when it comes to Nintendo franchise like Mario and Zelda the haters bash it for being "the same old thing" yet buy sequel after sequel and act like Nintendo is the only company that does this. :roll:GreenGoblin2099
Thing is... they bash it for being the "same old" because when it comes to Zelda, Mario, Metroid and mostly all Nintendo franchises, NOBODY expects the "same old" they expect BETTER than this "same old" so they complain when they see their expectations being crushed to bits.
How is this not better then what they've done b4 ?Mario got the galaxy series which turned out to be the best games of the generation, donkey kong returned to its former glory and Metroid's been constantly good, Zelda has been on a streak of AAA games so people bash a series thats held a high mark for 20 years saying its "same old"
Plus now you have people calling it a hack & slash :|

[QUOTE="shutdown_202"]so what do you think of the trailer?Hmmmmmmm
Shinobishyguy
Well i understood what it was trying to show us, Im just a little dissapointed the next time we'll see it is in 3 months.
I was impressed by 2 things. When Link was cutting the bamboo tree. Thats the fastest I've seen Link attack in any game and shows how responsive the controls are. One of the things I was worried about was combat although more tactiful, would be alot slower.
Large normal enemies. Before TP released, Miyamoto was hyping how enemies would grow in size and how we'd fight standard enemies that were large. Looks like we might see this in SS.
Overall it was gameplay snippets showing motion control usage (again). I liked what i saw. Graphics i feel indfiferent to. I thought that Zant character looked trash though, but im expecting a redesign. E3's soooo far away.....

Not at all. Majora is my favorite 3D Zelda ever. It is also one of my top games of all time. If this game has ANYTHING to do with Majora, then I'm so in on day one.[QUOTE="93BlackHawk93"]

That would be SO AWSOME! But I don't think it could really make sense, unless Majoras Mask made it a habit of possesing Skull Kids:P, If it is rated to MM maybe its a sequal where Majora somehow survived the ending of MM, or is revived, and is forced to take on a familiar form in order to recover, or something like that.

If I remember correctly I think the Master Sword's origin was explained in Minish Cap, but that may be just a popular fan theory
I love Zelda, it's quite possibly my favourite franchise, but that looked terrible in my opinion. The combat animations look stupid because it tries to follow you're arm movements. It looks less like a Zelda game doing what it does best & more like a game going out of its way to be designed around motion controls.
[QUOTE="Enforcedspot"][QUOTE="charizard1605"] Do you think this could actually be a prequel to Majora's Mask? :shock:actually from what i heard from Anouma is takes place before ocarina of time No, you don't get it... Conversely, it's possible that this is a prequel, and the reason that Majora possessed the Skull Kid in the first place was because of what his form had originally been like. It would make a lot of sense, and it would actually give us some context to Majora's Mask (which remains the most mysterious Zelda till date).

The problem is that Nintendo doens't do anything new to the franchise. They just add new enemies and new coat of paint. They need to do something with it. Zelda has the potential to be "epic" as in LOTR epic for example. Make it look more realistic and let us actually explore Hyrule and the world around Zelda with incredible visuals (not cel shaded). Nintendo is still keeping the kiddy image on Zelda. That's why it won't ever be taken serious until it gets some dramatic changes.
Do I really have to point out the irony of you complaining about Zelda being kiddy when you have a Toy Story sig, and avatar?:?
Did you just call Toy Story "kiddy"? GTFO.

That was actually kind of my point. From a visual standpoint you really cant get much more "kiddy" than Toy Story, I mean its a story about sentient childrens toys for petes sake! But if you were willing to look past its "kiddy" exterior you find a suprisingly grown up tale about growing up, abandonment, accepting change, and moving on. Toy Story 3 was so well recieved by children and adult alike it was nominated for Best Picture at the oscars. This is why I hate it when people dismiss a game for being "kiddy". Just because a game doesnt look realistic, or looks somewhat cartoony doesnt mean that the game itself is automatically terrible. People should really stop being so close minded when it comes to their perception of "kiddy" games
