Well its keeping up with 360 visuals NOW, so I guess its good enough. I wouldn't be hoping for the new xbox to come so soon if I were you:?

Actualy, its not. I have yet to see a PS3 game thats looks as good as Gears of War. (THe only games that might do this are Uncharted, MGS 4, and FF XIII but those games arent even out yet.) and by then, 360 will have games that look way better than gears.

true but PS3 games will indeed look superior, don't under-estimate the power of the Cell 8). Sony has always made consoles which are quite difficult to create videogames for in the beginning but when they are understood then it shows how powerful the console is, the same stands for PS3. 360's head start didn't exactly blow away the PS3, the games only look slightly superior if at all, Sony's first year of games line up looks way better the Microsofts first year and in 2008 I believe PS3 will show its superiority and beat the 360 in sales overall.

Go ahead and believe that, by all means. However, difficult hardware has never been nor will it ever be an asset. It takes valuable time and money to do and while the PS3 will likely have certain games that show off it's power, they will not be the norm. Nor will they be so astonishingly superior that the average consumer will say "OMG!!! It's so much BETTER that the 360"... Thinking so will only lead to disappointment. ;)

Yeah, I can believe people are buying that gamespot comparison. I compared Def Jam Icon on PS3 and 360(demos) the other day, they look the same. You just have to turn down the brightness for the PS3 version. Yet people on these forums are gobbling it all up.

Depends on who you ask...I've taken my 360 over to my buddies house who has a ps3 and have done our own non scientific test. All we can see is the 51' HDTV. We both cant tell who's system is who's. Our sane friends come over and look at us like we're crazy. Point? Saying one system sucks is obviously a biased opinion. I'll still be getting a ps3, but to say the 360 cant or wont keep up with ps3 is speculative at best. One has more ram the other more processing power.

Microsoft made a wise decision launching first and avoiding the failure of going up against Sony & Nintendo. 360's early lead allowed the developers to get to grips with 360 architecture before the competition arrived thus making 360 games slighty supperior because PS3 and Wii were relatively new. Well actually developers didn't have trouble with the Wii because its essentially Gamcube achitecture with innovative controls. Sony creates awesome consoles for the long-term but they don't show their potential untill atleast a year after launch, I mean sure the games look great but throughout lifespan the games keep looking better & better, PS3 will be no exception.

It took 360 a year to churn out something like GeOW and still to this day, 7 months after release, no game has yet delivered something of GeOW level on the 360. This fall is when PS3 starts to gain control and show the world whats it made of. I never judge a console untill a year after it has released, I did this for the 360 (I was disappointed) and now I'm doing it for PS3.

I believe next year you will trully see a difference between PS3 and 360 games, maybe only slightly in graphics but definitely on physics, particle effects and lighting. Next year you will see the PS3 difference. oh wait I just read your mind, let me guess "just wait". You guys make it sound like Sony has never delivered when it comes to games, I guess turning 360 has made you blind against other consoles.

For now the difference between PS3 & 360 is minimal and the 360 had a year head start, from this fall onwards PS3 will look superior.

Since when did it take Gears a year to come out? more like 6 months. It also can't be argued that the 360 got PDZ as AAA launch, Oblivion and GRAW in that period. No other current gen system is that successful.

Ugh, the system has been out for just 7 months. I'm tired of Lemmings acting as if PS3 and 360 came out at the same time. Why is it that all the Lemmings are on gamespot instead of playing their games. Maybe MS should put "just post on gamespot" on the 360 box. pffft Elite 360, just another way for Microsoft to milk the fanbase. first they say HDMI doesn't matter but now they say it does. Just you wait, nextyear I'll bet they will get out another version of 360 but with a Blue-ray drive in it.
