I have been playing NG:Blk on my 360 and it's pretty difficult then I just started playing Sigma on my PS3 and it seemed so much easier in every way? I left them both on the default difficulty....so was Sigma made easier?chikenfriedrice
Yes, and the trend continues with NG2. It make sense since it is "lowering" the bar for casuals. With that being said, the hardest difficulty will be only for hardcores. So it is a win win scenario.

really? I thought some of the reviewers were docking points cuz NG2 was too hard?

Nope, because it was unfairly hard.

Unbalanced difficulty For Bosses. Basically some of the bosses are stupidly cheap. I have yet to fight any boss though...The demo didn't have any. And Camera issues. If this wasn't NG2 it would get AAA reviews, but with the hype and expectations, some reviews have been giving it lower scores due to these faults. as a standlone action game, it's still one fo the best of this gen.

We don't have the game yet and the demo only had the easiest difficulty level so I wouldn't make judgments about Ninja Gaiden 2's difficulty yet.

An example that a reviewer uses (i dont remember which site though, maybe it was IGN), you kill a boss, and that boss explodes when dies and kills you, apparently without any warning. So the reviewer uses the word "cheap".
I also remember reading that they added a easy difficulty... not sure... I dont even have a xbox lol.

For every review that says the NG2 difficulty is "unfair", there's another that says it's perfect and that any NG fan should be accustomed to it. Most of the reviews say that the game was actually made easier, because of things like the health regen system, save points refilling your health, etc
As for the OP, most NG veterans consider Black to the best and by far the toughest NG version.

I should think a review shouldn't phase any NG fan. Unless reviews have outright said it's an unplayable bad game...then yeah. From what i can see, it's still a top quality Action game with some minor hitches.
Sigma is a walk in the park compared to Black
Im playing it right now. the only parts that are a bit difficult are the ones with Rachel. the rest is pie

well hard compered to say uncharted, gears ec. but not as hard as black. if so they wpuld of said it. i for one like the sound of it easier considering i had to play sigma on easy.I have always loved the NG series just for it's difficulty. Gamers over 20/25 should remember how hard most games where back in the day. IMO, that is what made them great. I hate how most games seem to be made for morons recently. I blame the reviewers for sucking at games. Why are they allowed to review games when they are not any good at them?
End rant:evil:

In a way. They added more savepoints in as the ones in NG:B were, at times, frustratingly few and far between. They also put a mode in where, if you die, the chick asks you if you forsake the way of the ninja, if you say yes, it drops you into easy mode without notifying you or anything. I think it also shifts to easy mode if you die three times, or something strange?
Oh, and some of the puzzles have been replaced by boss-fights to make it more fluid.

Looked it up on GS cheats:
Maybe so........... (Ninja Dog mode = easy mode)
Ninja Dog was a new feature introduced in Black. You have to die three times in a row in the first level, and then you get a nice pink ribbon around your arm courtesy of that one chick who's name escapes me that always throws you clues, and you're officially playing in "easy mode". Which is supposedly more like normal mode in any other game, but I've never tried it. Zeliard9
oh okay I never got a pink ribbon so i'm good lol
Little bit. But sigma wasn't made for people who had already played NG. It was for new players. Hence why it was on PS3. Kratos_OMEGA
he has point. Because I know when I get my ps3 i'm pick it up. Haven't played NG since the since it was 2d.

Yeh, and she also gives you healing items, I think it was Rice? (haven't played the game in a while) and she gives you more and more rice packs the more often you die. And she gives you a few of other items too.

I had no idea she actually gave you items. I figured the enemies and bosses were just made easier in Ninja Dog (lower defense and strength, fewer guard breaks, etc), and that maybe there were more chests with goodies.

Ninja Dog mode pretty much holds you hand through the game. If you just keep loading your games when you die instead of continuing, it never activates.

maybe:P It's even worse in Sigma. In Sigma the rule is to die 3 times in the entire Normal difficulty mode to unlock Ninja dog, not just the first level
dumb down? lol maybe at the first level but after that it gets really frustrating especially with the spider ninjas.
And actually the original was the harder version.

From the reviews it looks to me that NG2 is harder. They all really complain the difficulty even though NG is known to be difficult. Just because it has the regenerating health doesn't mean the games gonna be easier. The enemies now are much smarter and way more acrobatic, and those who watch the gameplay vids notice how there are many more enemies on screen at one time compared to NGB.Please Log In to post.
