do you really care more about how it scores than how it plays?

People always complain about the camera in NG games. I never had a problem with them. Well not in combat anyway. The platforming sections were a bit difficult because of the camera. But since 99% of the game is fighting it was never a big deal to me.

Game Informer mentioned it, but they praised the rest of the game so much it didn't matter.

yes, i think this will be a nice Ninja Gaiden, but not nearly as revolutionairy as the first.. also, the art direction is not that great i think.. most ridiculous looking enemies i've ver seen.. gore is nice ofcourse.

I recall reading on Gamespot that the camera is the same as NG and NGB and NGS, and to gamers who got used to it in the first, it would feel the same in this new installment... can't wait!

No the camera sucked in those games. I owned Ninja gaiden Black and Sigma. It is very annoying when you have to guess where the enemy is. The times that it would piss me off is any ranged enemy that could shoot at you and the boss on the horse. He would never be onscreen and then just come out of nowhere and hit you. Camera design is definetly a legitimate criticism and hopefully they make it better for NG2.

every game is a flawed jewel...........there is no 1 game with 10 on metacritic.

but on topic, I hope this game gets a AAA, NG did, NGB and NGS did, so this one should as well.

Well, Metal Gear Solid 3 had the same problems as Metal Gear Solid 2, yet the second time it wasn't overlooked in regards to the rest of it, and that mistake was forgivable. Doing it twice was not.

Will the same happen with Ninja Gaiden II?

Why can't the camera be fixed? They've redone this game so many times now. Come on already. Nothing is more annoying than being in the middle of sacking down several enemies and than the camera is in the wrong place but you don't have the time to move it cause you could be killed so easily.

Again all you had to do is...........press the right trigger. The camera then goes around Ryu. Problem solved.

I mean, I for one can totally overlook the Camera in MGS3, lots of people disagreed and it got less than MGS2 critically :|

Then they don't know how to play the game. Because if the Cam is anything like NGB cam then all they had to do is re-center it. If you played NGB on Very Hard or Master Ninja then the camera was the least of your worries.

Okay that sounds simple enough. Until your surrounded by ten guys in a small room and its on Master Ninja so one mistake costs you alot of life.

Sorry, no time to "recenter" when your in a boxed room and it constantly goes outta wack.

Unfortunately that has never solved the problem. Recentering doesn't mean it's focused where you want it. What happens if the enemy is behind you? Or the enemy is farther away from you. Just recentering means it's focused on Ryu.

Edge = worthless garbage...they gave the first NG a 7..so their opinion is pretty much null and void...here in the US no gives two effs about Edge...only Gamespot, IGN, 1up for me thanks

I cannot see this game getting below 9.0 The action just looks amazingly epic and sweet. Destorys all games this gen in it's genre. 9.0 on GS. Anyone who's played NG will not be concerned by cmaera issues lol.

I have it for Xbox and bought it again for PS3, your point? Recentering puts the camera on your character, it doesn't put it where you necessarily want it. Recentering does nothing to fix the camera issues.

The camera isn't a deal breaker. Its just one of those things you wish they'd fix in the sequel is all. Don't wanna make a mountain out of a mole hill now.

Camera or no it'll get a 9.0

Because it really is easy. Just get used to re-centering the camera and it becomes a second nature. The only time is where I can really complain about the camera is Forrbiden Legend when you're trying to save Rachel.

Um unless they changed it in Sigma you can center it with the right trigger and pan around with the right analog stick. If they kept the same system in NG2 then thats perfect.

I never had a real problem with the NG camera in the original, except duing some platforming segments, and I assume it hasn't become worse in the sequel, so color me completely unworried.

Often the camera is too zoomed in and the problem is all you can see is Ryu. And it doesn't turn around to face the enemy. Remember the room on the airship with the cargo containers on the far wall and the people coming in the windows? That scene the camera was so frustrating. You can never tell what windows the enemy is coming in from. The only way you know where they are is because they are shooting at you. Same with the boss on the horse, you have no idea where he is half the time. Yeah I can "block" and wait for him to come into view but that's an excuse not a solution.

I cleared both the Airship battle and the Fire horse boss without even getting hurt. Guess what I did....?

[QUOTE="silentobi"]Holy Crap! Did you even played the game? :shock:EmperorSupreme

I have it for Xbox and bought it again for PS3, your point? Recentering puts the camera on your character, it doesn't put it where you necessarily want it. Recentering does nothing to fix the camera issues.

Then you can't have been any good. There's several things you can do when you put the focus back on Ryu..The only problem is that the camera is not focusing on Ryu and goes somewhere else and you can't see where the enemies are and where there attacking from.

When you put the focus back on Ryu by pressing 1 button you can now get a better few of your surroundings. Just remember to block.

Often the camera is too zoomed in and the problem is all you can see is Ryu. And it doesn't turn around to face the enemy. Yup and the only solution to that is to have a super zoomed out fixed view like GoW which wouldn't work with Ninja Gaiden's fighting engine. Any third person action game with a free roaming camera has issues and Ninja Gaiden is actually one of the best IMO. Also you can pan the camera around with the right stick if the view is bad. Clicking it switches from first person view control to camera control and vice verca.
