[QUOTE="Toriko42"][QUOTE="Timstuff"]Tecmo and Konami are not the same company.
Also, I'm pretty sure the reason why you'll never see MGS4 on Xbox 360 is because Konami wants to push their POS proprietary online platform with the game, and Microsoft would try to make them use Xbox Live (not saying Metal Gear Online ain't great, but I seriously hate having to go through Konami's service to play it).

I think Konami will keel over Why develop a non-tested title when they can put a small team on porting Metal Gear Solid 4 to the 360 for a guaranteed high amount of sales. Historically, the MGS franchise has had very little appeal to non-fans, and there are VERY few (if any) MGS fans who do not own a PS3 and MGS4. Konami's only hope to reap a profit with a 360 MGS4 port would be to try and sell it almost entirely to non-fans, which is a losing proposition. They've tried selling MGS to non-fans before, and it didn't end well. MGSTTS had fair performance, but considering it was one for Gamecube's biggest titles that year, it didn't meet expectations in terms of sales. As for MGS2 on Xbox-- it was a complete disaster. It sold so badly that Konami didn't even bother releasing a bargain bin version under the Platinum hits Label, and instead just took it out of print! There's really no getting around it-- MGS has always sold well on the Playstation family of consoles, and this generation has been no exception. HOWEVER, there has yet to be an MGS title on another console brand that has made any real waves. Even the PC port of MGS wasn't that popular, and it was a much nicer package than its Playstation counterpart (it was a port of MGS Integral, which never came out in the US for PSX). Konami just doesn't have much to gain by porting MGS4, because their biggest and most important customer demographic already has it-- the fans.I would have to agree with your assesment, for the most part. I think Konami/Kojima might have had chance this generation of hardware because not as many people made the jump from PS2 to PS3, as they did from PS1 to PS2. Granted, alot of those who didn't make the jump to the PS3stayed with the PS2, but some went to the 360. I think an exclusive, even timed, would not work on the 360, but a simultaneous launch might have.Havingwritten that, Istill have to agree that it would be a hard sell. And, Konami didn't make any new fans among Xbox owners when theygave thema half-assed port of MGS2.
Kojima has hinted that he might make a game for the 360 that isn't a port of MGS4, but possibly a different game set in the MGS universe. I know that he has had some good things to say about Live, so maybe a MP only game? I have MGS4 and haven't touched the online due to the hoops that you have to go through just to get into a game.
