And what makes you think the contract states anything like that at all? What if the contract is null after a certain period of time? Fact is Tecmo owns the NG IP and they can do whatever they want with it. And there are always, always loopholes man...Microsoft may have dictated terms in exahcnge for money (money talks, after all). Microsoft is pretty smart when it comes to legalities. I'm sure they'd have left Tecmo with few options. Which is why I'm asking, "Which loophole?"Your assuming way too much.. [QUOTE="HuusAsking"]Doesn't matter if the terms of the contract state that Tecmo waives its right to publish the game or anything of its like on its own. What we need is the specifics of the agreement. Did Tecmo wave the right? If so, under what terms?HuusAsking
Xbox 360 Exclusive Ninja Gaiden II Coming To PS3
By Brian Ashcraft, 3:00 AM on Tue Mar 17 2009, 14,337 views
This fall, Ninja Gaiden Σ 2 is coming to Sony's PLAYSTATION 3. The game is a PS3 remake of the "Only on Xbox 360" title Ninja Gaiden II.
The game will have PSN support as well as new content.
Like the original title, Ninja Gaiden Σ 2 is being developed by Tecmo's Team Ninja. However, Ninja Gaiden II was designed by former Team Ninja lead ninja Tomonobu Itagaki, who has since left the company. Itagaki was known for his preference for developing titles for Microsoft's game consoles. That, and drinking booze.
Yosuke Hayashi, director of the first Ninja Gaiden Σ, will once again take the reins for this Sigma remake sequel. As with Ninja Gaiden Σ, NG Σ 2 is a remake of an Itagaki designed game.
When asked about the first NG Σ title, Itagaki did not seem impressed in the least, saying, "All you need to do is play Ninja Gaiden II and then try and play Sigma afterwards and you'll see why. Despite the fact that it's on a 'next-generation' console there's no evolution whatsoever. That was made not by me, but one of my sub-ordinates who basically tried to copy the success of Ninja Gaiden."
In Ninja Gaiden Σ, it was possible to play as voluptuous character Rachel for some of the missions. In Ninja Gaiden Σ it will be possible to play Dead or Alive's Ninjutsu expert Ayane as well as Ninja Gaiden's Ryu Hayabusa - which makes sense as Hayabusa and Ayane are friends.

its not the exact same game then? and it Wont be a Downloadable PSN title apparently
Microsoft can't seem to keep any games exclusive.jakarai
just as ps3 was able to keep virtua fighter 5, Tekken, Final Fantasy, Resident Evil, Unreal championship/tournament.
Those are some heavy hitters, BTW, ps3 can enjoy NG2 if they wan't kowinglly they will pay full price for a game when the Xbox 360m owners can goto walmart and purchase it for 30 dollars.

cuz every cow must want sigma 2 amirite? Thats why this thread is 18 pages apparently.[QUOTE="hopesfall2own"]You mean cows getting excited about old 360 games that they bashed constantly? Who saw that coming? eklineage
Same here... but it looks real enough so far.I wouldn't believe that until more info comes out, so don't get too excited cows...
Chutebox
Pst...fools...wasting your time on NGS2 when you should be getting ready for GoW3 :DII_Seraphim_IIthe irony, GOW was bashed to no end because NG2 was exclusive to the 360 and gow was just a "cheap button masher", if this is true then Ps3 Gets GOw, DMC and NG. the full package no less.
[QUOTE="eklineage"]cuz every cow must want sigma 2 amirite? Thats why this thread is 18 pages apparently. If MGS4 came to the 360 the thread would be 100000 pages long. That's what makes System Wars entertaining... lol.[QUOTE="hopesfall2own"]You mean cows getting excited about old 360 games that they bashed constantly? Who saw that coming? hopesfall2own
The fact is, like i said, Tecmo owns it and can do whatever they want with itCouth_They owns the IP? Yes, fact. They can do whatever they want with it? Not necessary (so not a fact).
Not really, it does seem funny though, cows did bash this game for not being = or greater than the original. And all of a sudden they want the game? cows are bigest hypocritics on any site.

Its official, even IGN confirmed it. Nice I hope they fix some of the kinks. I will definitely be picking it up.
[QUOTE="eklineage"]cuz every cow must want sigma 2 amirite? Thats why this thread is 18 pages apparently. ever think its lemmings arguing that that the scan is fake? I'm just wondering what the publishig contract says. If this is true, most likely they had a time exclusive on the contract or they had a clause where if Tecmo "changed" enough things around they could get by the publishing rights? I'm not a patent lawyer so I'm just guessing here.

Thats why this thread is 18 pages apparently. ever think its lemmings arguing that that the scan is fake? It's not always one sided :S Well its a good argument since fairly recently they posted scans of something along the same lines and it was found to be fake in the first hour of being posted.Lemmings can't say anything now... ConfirmedIGN article. New playable character, new enemies and new weapons... Also mention the PSN logo, and that there is part where Ryu and the Ayan fight together, maybe there is online Coop :o

So is this going to be a Port of NG2? If so, have fun with it PS3 owners it's a really good (and gory) game :P
[QUOTE="IronBass"] Oh, I'm not saying they can't. I'm just wondering what the publishig contract says.killerfistMaybe Tecmo bought it from MS? It's a possibility. Or maybe the contract only warrants a one-year-exclusivity. Who knows?
Ninja Gaiden 2 Set for PS3
Play as Ayane! Fight the Statue of Liberty! Sigma 2 set for Fall!
by IGN StaffMarch 17, 2009 - Ninja Gaiden is making the trip to the PlayStation 3 again. It's got the "Sigma" in the middle of the name, but Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 is a port of Ninja Gaiden 2 that promises a number of new features.
First shown in that usual source for Japanese gaming information, Famitsu, Sigma 2 features as perhaps its biggest new element, playable Ayane. While the purple-haired "kunoichi" female ninja from Dead or Alive has always been a major part of the Ninja Gaiden story, she'll be playable in Sigma 2, and promises a completely different play feel from Ryu Hayabusa. The magazine shows Ayane making use of a dual sword, and teaming up with Ryu for what appears to be a combination attack of some form.
Other "big" updates include the presence of new enemies in some stages. The magazine introduces one such enemy, a giant Buddha. It also appears that the Statue of Liberty from the 360 version will be appearing in enemy form.
New weapons are on the way as well. The magazine introduces the new Hasaiga Enma, a massive weapon that appears to be taller than Ryu himself! It's unclear if this is the only new weapon, or if PS3 owners can look forward to more.
A bit more mysterious at present is some supposed PlayStation Network support. The magazine does not indicate what form this will take.
Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 is being developed by Team Ninja, with production and direction by the original Sigma's Yosuke Hayashi. Japan will get the game some time this fall.
An official site for the title will open up on the 25th, suggesting that this is probably the game Tecmo America has been teasing about for an unveiling on the 24th.

Indeed, saying "no one cares about x game" is ridiculous, especially here.
As Andrew_Xavier once said: "System Wars is entirely about rubbing it in" (someone has that sigged) lol

Seriously!?.... As a hack-n-slash fan I have to say Im very happy, now I can play Bayonetta, NG2 and GOW3 :DPersonally I hated the demo of NG2... maybe I should go back and replay it and try to understand what all the fuss is about.
I really wanted to play NG2 last year and even though the game flopped it still looked really awesome, I just hope Tecmo fixes some of the issues with NG2 and revamp the whole gameSwift_Boss_A
