@KBFloYd: I wonder, why does this game have achievements like that and not other cross platform games like Paladins.....I don't remember people mentioning this aspect about Paladins, so I assume this is the first title on Switch to do that
edit: might have something to do with the fact that the game runs on the Microsoft dedicated cloud servers
Pretty much has nothing to do with the topic at hand.Damn el tormented your reading comprehension is bad. Pointing out anti-consumer practices is what we're saying but as usual you're defending Sony to the bitter end. I bet you thought it was wonderful Sony thought enough of it's customers to install root kits on their computers huh? Thought it was the greatest consumer move they're ever done.
Sony could shit in a bag, slap a PS sticker on it and you'd praise it as the greatest piece of shit ever. You'd rave about it's color and aroma and talk about how gracious of Sony to sell it to for $150 as a stand alone peripheral.
You get a PS4 yet? Didn't think so
Hahhahahahaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa.....
Kinglemming running from my point.
Let's start from the beginning.
You are a total and complete hypocrite, you lack any sense of integrity basically you are a dishonest poster who hide on bulshit arguments like people don't comprehend things when your ass is handed to you.
Talk all the crap you want about PS4 cross play,MS is getting what they deserve, sony extended the hand once and they refuse it,now they want sony to allow them,Cross platform play is a great plus and sony should allow it,i can't say it is bad or any crap like the shit you lemmings use to invent last gen to justify MS policy, but i can understand why sony is doing it MS did it first, and PSN has always been more open than live.
Look at what you bring root kit which wasn't even done by the GAMING division that desperate you are,but i am not gonna lose my time pointing out the tons of times MS has been anti consumer, even less outside their gaming division.
That is funny because it is actually you who MS can slap in the face and would go next day and buy 10 MS games, you just prove it without shadow of a doubt when you try to downplay MS anti consumer practices with live, hiding free to play games under a pay wall, which no other platforms does by the way,but i guess anti consumer in your hypocrite world is a matter of what side you stand on pathetic.
Then use the same crap than i don't own a PS4,i think is time you stop acting like a 10 year old boy,who find comfort in using the sale lying argument every time.
If i had a dollar for every time you accuse me of not comprehending something or that i don't own a PS4 as some kind of escape route i would be rich by now.
:)

Meltdowns aplenty in this thread from Tomatos and the other PS fans
Yea....as a cow I don't get why they're damage controlling for.....who cares about cross play and mine craft....
Also your .GIF....... I watch the video on YouTube about how they actually did that effect.......was really clever....
I imagine that as Minecraft and Fortnite are the biggest games on the planet right now quite a few people care about it.
Do they? So a side from a few social media users and forums where are these people you speak of?
And the game being big is nothing to do with it as the percentage of people who play these games that actually care about cross play is likely in single digits......
Minecraft has sold 144 million copies across all platforms....... now think what percentage of those are on console and the what percentage of that actually care about cross play.
Very small amounts of the user base as the majority are happy to play people on the same system.

Even if it's as low a 1% that's still over a million gamers that can't connect and play with friends that own a different console.

It's morons in computer forums that make a big deal out of it because it gives them some just cause to bash a company/fanboys.
But when you look at the actual numbers it's a none issue.

Well the story was picked up by many news outlets like the BBC for instance.
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-44477524
So it's clearly a bigger deal than you think it is.
When people on SW act like no one cares, they are just delusional. Does this make Ps4 bad? Nope. Is it dumb as a box of rocks for Sony to be like this? Yep.
@boycie: I don't play these games and never had a shortage of people to play multiplayer games to me, so this doesn't make any difference at all to me, neither to most people (most game on PS4 and PC).
Anyway, I believe in the future we'll see crossplay becoming the norm, since the media is backing this up a lot.
Like i've said before though nobody gave a shit about crossplay 10 years ago when Microsoft were leading the pack. They specifically tied in PC games with the windows live bullshit and still didn't have crossplay with their own console. So not only did they deny access to other consoles, they denied it to themselves as well because they owned the market.
How times change, can't blame Sony for taking the piss to be honest. If you have the lead and your competitor is a pisstaker you might as well **** them with their own stick, a shame Nintendo has to be in the middle though.
Not an issue for Sony and majority of the PS4 players. Can't connect your account? Then make a new one.

No special advantage with cosmetics
It's still messed up though. If Sony wants to lock the accont, at least warn people about it! Here's a scenario for how fucked up it is.
My younger cousins are casual Nintendo fans. They have a 3DS and love games like Mario Kart. Of course they game on the iPad and their phones as well. Let's say they are interested in Fortnite and decide to get it. My brother plays on the PS4, it's his main system. Let's say they join him for a match just for the sake of being family members and trying out a new game. Fast forward a couple months and they get a Switch. They want to get on Fortnite and can't because they played with my brother that one time, on a completely different system.
Like I don't care about cross play because meh. I personally don't play a lot of multiplayer games, and the ones I do like that are online are generally Nintendo games like Mario Kart or games like Call of Duty Zombies that don't have the cross play option. Still, it's messed up to not only screw over your customers who own multiple systems, but you're screwing over people who don't even have your system. They just decided to play with someone who has a PS4, and they can't bring their progress over to the Switch or Xbox One.
Shots are definitely FIRED, but what PlayStation is doing is the right thing. They lead the market and want nuetrals to come to them for their gaming needs. PlayStations best response to this is exclusive content you can only get on PlayStation when playing Fortnite, Minecraft etc etc. PlayStation doesnt need Cross-Play. Props to Nintendo for their trolling though.
Nah, it's just an ad promoting a feature, not a personal attack on SONY. I guess PS would also have been in the commercial if they allowed crossplay, but they've decided it's not in their customers' interests, so whatever.
They're both so desperate to dethrone Sony they formed an alliance
so cute

That excuse doesnt bite, sorry. Many people like myself could afford every other piece of hardware out there fine fyi, they just arent interesting to waste money on
Not really shots fired, just makes sense to expand the playerbases as much as possible with these games. If Sony doesn't want to get involved then that's to them as market leader. I'm happy to be able to play against Xbox folks.
You're clearly replying to my post suggesting they hurt you deeply or you wouldn't be replying to them.
^ ^ This is what giving zero f***s looks like.

It isn't about cross play though. It's the fact that they're holding your account hostage. Like for people who don't even play on the PS4, but they decide to join their friend, who games on the PS4, one time in a match. They can't carry their progress onto any other console because they played with their friend. That's messed up no matter how you slice it. Sony and Epic should have been classy enough to at least warn people about it before hand.
@kuu2
Sony has always been anti consumer.
Crossplay, rootkits, not acknowledging defective hardware. They are just...………... the worst.
Sony hasn't always been anti consumer. Before the fortnite issue, they only did two things bad in over 20 years of being a console maker. That was the $599 PS3 and jacking up the price of their online randomly.
@pyro1245: Microsoft wants people on PlayStation to use Microsoft's Xbox Live and Sony is being reasonable by not allowing that. Crossplay works on PlayStation and PC without such requirement.
@luxuryheart: Were you an adult when their rootkit music CDs were disabling people’s computer cd drives?
Woman wins $10,000 judgment against Microsoft for forced Windows 10 upgrade.
The repeated changes to Windows 10’s upgrade policy, mandatory telemetry collection, and decisions to kill off patch notes and make all updates mandatory (plus the issues with UWP and gaming) have collectively left a bad taste in many users’ mouths. None of these are fundamental reasons to stop using Windows 10, but they speak to the company’s profound trouble communicating what ought to be a winning strategy. The Windows 10 giveaway was a great concept, and the entire process could’ve been handled in a way that made people want to switch. Instead, Microsoft has been dragging people into upgrading in much the same way you might grab a cat and drag it off for a bath.
Lets talk about MS FORCING people to upgrade to windows 10 were ever you wanted or not, like my laptop that was on and automatically started updating without any authorisation on my part,or even the decency of asking me.
The same company who wanted AOM computers to forcely come with windows.
While it is possible to obtain a computer with no or free operating systems,[30] virtually all large computer vendors continue to bundle Microsoft Windows with the majority of the personal computers in their ranges. The claimed increase in the price of a computer resulting from the inclusion of a Windows license has been called the "Windows tax" or "Microsoft tax" by opposing computer users.[31][32] The Findings of Fact in the United States Microsoft antitrust case of 1998 established that "One of the ways Microsoft combats piracy is by advising OEMs that they will be charged a higher price for Windows unless they drastically limit the number of PCs that they sell without an operating system pre-installed. In 1998, all major OEMs agreed to this restriction."[33] Microsoft also once assessed license fees based on the number of computers an OEM sold, regardless of whether a Windows license was included; Microsoft was forced to end this practice due to a consent decree.[31] In 2010, Microsoft stated that its agreements with OEMs to distribute Windows are nonexclusive, and OEMs are free to distribute computers with a different operating system or without any operating system.[28]

As i already told you if windows wasn't such a shitty unsecure OS maybe rootkit would have never happen at all.
Oh and this is without taking into account 2013 fiasco that cost them many gamers and cause the xbox one to fall behind the xbox 360 sales wise.
I'm not a huge fan of Microsoft to be honest. Charging outrageous prices for Microsoft Office and then their Xbox One reveal. No matter how much they try to play the good guy role now, I'll still be wary of them.
@luxuryheart: Were you an adult when their rootkit music CDs were disabling people’s computer cd drives?
What the heck are rootkit music CDs? Also, it depends on the year. I turned 22 this year, so anything before the year 2014, I was a minor.
Root kit was an anti theft copy protection software that sony introduced on music CD stealthy, when you inserted the CD on your PC it would install even if you didn't agree with it.
It spy on you,was prompt to malware viruses and worms exploits and even slowed performance in PC,and would interfere with CD copying.
Now lemmings here bring that up when they have no ammo to counter arguments on cows side, for example they claim here that sony is anti consumer for not allowing cross play with the xbox one and switch, but when you point to them that MS hides free to play games like Fortnite behind a paywall making the game pay to play again they ignore it and start to bring irrelevant crap to try and claim sony is anti consumer, when you see a lemming using root kit just quote the guy and laugh at him.
Root kit has nothing to do with sony computer entertainment it was sony music who did that a totally different branch of sony, and in fact the PS2 and PS1 used CD's and no game had any root kits, despite piracy on both platforms.
