[QUOTE="ohioyankee"]another accessory? come on nintendo, this is just getting out of hand. if you're going to do something like this update the wii-mote instead of releasing an accessory. then again your strategy is to rip off your customers as much as you possibly can.Willy105

If they update the Wiimote, then all the Wiimotes out there will be useless. That will be milkage and a rip-off.

An add-on means all Wiimotes can use it.

it's a rip off either way, at least updating the wii-mote makes it standard instead of this accessory BS. people chasted sony just for adding rumble but when nintendo does something like this crap they get praised?

your kidding right? Nintendo gave you the OPTION to use the GC controller, not encouraged. i use the wiimote-nunchuk combo instead of the GC controller... your point = fail

JPOBS

denial. Brawl is better with the gc controller. If you odnt know that your a noob.

It's not. It's all preference.

lol. Do you know anything about smash bros or are you jsut a casual fan?

its not preference. the gc controller is better for competitive play, where precision matters. Point is, wiimote is not the optimal way to play.

I play Smash Bros. a lot, and it's exactly because of precision I use the Wiimote alone. Super Smash Bros is the game that NEEDS a D-Pad.

It's because of the way Super Smash Bros plays. The way you move is not analog, even if you put the stick all the way to the side, you are walking. You have to tap it again to run. It has always been like that. But it takes less time to tap using a D-Pad than an analog stick. That means you can move a lot faster. You need more time to see which moves your opponent uses and to find a way to counter those attacks, and with more speed, you have more time to do that.

It's all about precision, and that's why I use the Wiimote.

I am not praising this move, but it's not something to critisize. The point is an add-on is LESS of a rip-off than having a whole new version of the Wiimote released.

I use the c lassic controller though the Nunchuck and Wiimote combo is great too.

People only say the GC control set up is the best because their already so used to it and unwilling to try something new -- like many lems and cows

Tell that to the competitive smash community :|

Not EVERYONE who plays Smash is going to be a competitor nor going pro with the game though, so that is irrelevant. It could be a small fraction of users out there compared to the multi millions out there who own the game, that even go pro or are as competitive.

So it's a moot point, if one uses the ****c, Nunchuk, or Wii mote on it's side. They are still viable options, and playable choices for those who opt to use them.

[QUOTE="darklord888"]So something that should have been there from the start and will probably cost a ton.

Wow thanks Nintendo.darklord888

kidding right? does it even look close to expensive? :|

Yeah, and for having vibration (something standard since 8 years ago) you gotta buy an entire new controller. No cow got problems with that.

So, what the problem with paying more (maybe not much more) for improving a really innovative feature?

One wrong makes it ok to do another wrong? Great logic.

Did I say it was ok? Nope. I was just asking why the people who didn't have a problem in buying entire controls have now problems with buying an accesory.

How is making an add-on for the current controller more of a ripoff than a whole new controller? Yes, let's throw away all our wiimotes and spend another $70 for new ones. :?

I'll hand it to Nintendo, they'll probably convince the sheep to buy the accessory and make a lot of money.

And when you're talking about competition, you;'re talking about the best players. therefore, no matter how small of a percentage of the gaming population play competitvely, whichever method they use is technically the best because it allows for the best results.

Im not saying you cant play your buddies with the wiimote and win. what im saying is that the gc controller is the best choice for playing the gameto its full potential. thats all.

Hmm, i'm a little peeved. Shouldn't this have been built standard within the Wiimote from the very beginning? If it was something that was developed over the last year and a bit then i just hope it's cheap and enough games will support it.

this depends on devs and nintendo themselves. will nintendo start requiring games to use the addon? or can devs develop two sets of controls for a game to allow for both control schemes to be used. if it's the former then it's a huge rip off, if it's the latter then it won't be as bad.

If they charge me for this, and games utilize it without coming with it as a pack in, its milkage, just like rumble is, and just like XBL is.

I am sure I will buy it, but man, I am tired of buying crap that should have been available at launch, made to work better before it came out, or should have been available on the disc.

can't argue with that

Eh it's a possibility. I have more of my GC collection on than my PS2/Xbox from last gen. I have more of my PS1 collection than my SNES if I'm not mistaken, and than I have more of my GBA even I think than DS too.

It's a possibility is what I'm saying, but hey.. I can't make you believe him or nor can I say he is telling the truth, but in the end I don't think it really is something that can be a definitive proof of anything if you ask me. I don't go into one's collection here and think it's accurate or up to date unless I know them (like Panzer_Zwei) to be the kind who does so.

Heck one could be doing it just to get the "Old School" emblem or connoisseurone or whatnot.

i'll put it simply: at top levels of play the gc controller is the best option because it allows for the greatest amount of precision, and also B-sticking (i dont think you can B-stick with the wiimote)

Listen, if the unanimous decision of the best players in the world is not "factual" enough for you and you still chalk it all up to preference, then this arguement is going no where. I guess the Lazerswimsuit isnt the best either

[QUOTE="Eponique"]I'm assuming it will come with a couple of games that require it. Like in the N64 days.DireToad

lol is that Nintendo's goal? The N64 days?

Because if they bundled this free with a game, they're doomed right?

The Eyetoy noboy cares about. Nobody buys it and nobody claims it's awesome. The DS3 is just a controller.
I don't see the correlation between my argument and yours. I mean yeah sure it's you here but try to make some sense.DireToad

WTF are you talking about? You basically had to sell your crappy launch controller and buy a new one because Sony didn't implement a 10 year old feature. The eyetoy is also an add-on and it's not exactly cheap. Then there's Singstar and Buzz

But I guess dey don't count lol!

That would be Sony's goal, see the overexpensive poorly optimised failure called the PS3.

Diretoad you never cease to amaze me. Obviously its not their goal like the N64 days and you should obvoiusly know that. But providing an example of a theory on how they would bundle this item if they choose to doesn't deserve a little fanboyish remark.

If they charge me for this, and games utilize it without coming with it as a pack in, its milkage, just like rumble is, and just like XBL is.

I am sure I will buy it, but man, I am tired of buying crap that should have been available at launch, made to work better before it came out, or should have been available on the disc.

vicmackey39

can't argue with that

but if it's a pack in I'll be more than happy

Agreed. I know Ninty said no Wii Sports 2, but....seriously Ninty, make Wii Sports 2 using this, pack in a few of these bad boys, and make it cheaply available!

Instant 5 million seller guaranteed, and I would own one no doubt.

It would have been nice if they had implemented this at the beginning and prevented all the waggle. It still doesn't help the fact that the Wii is an very underpowered piece of hardware.

[QUOTE="JPOBS"][QUOTE="Willy105"]

Willy105

This post is a joke. you have no idea what you're talking about.

You cant even use Tilt attacks with the d-pad. Quit while you're ahead. thanks.

I don't know what Tilt attacks are.

So you say you play smash alot, but you dont even know what tilts are, yet you are trying to debate with me about which controller is the best, when you dont even have a rudementary understanding of the characters movesets?

wow.

I dont want to just say "take my word for it" but the way this conversation is progessing, and given your lack of knowledge, im just going to have to ask you to take my word for it when i say the wiimote is inferior to the cubes.

Because that wouldnt settle which control scheme is best :|

i'll put it simply: at top levels of play the gc controller is the best option because it allows for the greatest amount of precision, and also B-sticking (i dont think you can B-stick with the wiimote)

Listen, if the unanimous decision of the best players in the world is not "factual" enough for you and you still chalk it all up to preference, then this arguement is going no where. I guess the Lazerswimsuit isnt the best either

you can do eveything that you can do with a wiimote-nunchuk that you can do with the GC controller. so i have no idea where youre getting the idea that 1 controller can do something that the other one cant... you are just making stuff up for your argument.

and yes, its still preference, whether or not the smash gaming community is using 1 or the other. neither have an advantage..

EDIT: i was challenging you to smash cause you asked me if i was a noob, i wanted to show you that you can play just as good with the wiimote as with the GC...

if they meant business they would have released this with the original controller. lol sheep.

JPOBS

Quite the contrary...

They meant business ($$$) so...

MILKAGE.

JPOBS

They milked the idea of the Wiimote to everyone and are now bringing us what we should have had...

Pure evil I says.

ogvampire

enlighten me on how the wiimote/nunchuck has the ability to B-stick? i dont see how its possible considering theres only on joystick.

or do you even know what B-sticking is?
im asking because some chars are better with B-sticking and therefore, if the wiimote cant b-stick, it is automatically inferior.
