Can't debate that...
Still, it's the same repetitive sh!t with every iteration. Gotta be a true fanboy to not realize (or care) about it.
To be honest, if they changed Pokemon (and I mean the gameplay mechanics) too much, because of how one generation is connected to the next one, all hell will break lose. Especially since 4th gen opened up Wi-Fi and now the MP and trading is really active. But they could change the aesthetics (and that's what most of ppl want really), and from what they have shown us in 5th gen, 6th gen is likely to change many things aesthetically. Can't debate that...

I think they change just the right amount of stuff. They introduce a couple game changing updates every iteration and give you 100 or so new pokemon. It's not a bad deal considering it's easy to get over 100 hours out of one game. Can't debate that...

the formula doesn't change but the battle mechanics along with EV and IVs are changed. not to mention the graphical improvement and the new pokes with each game. Can't debate that...

I thought this would be a handheld thread.
I never did play Pokemon. There have been times in recent years that I thought of giving it a shot, but there are so damn many of them I have no idea where to begin.
I am Jelly of Nintendo handhelds getting all these good rpgs though. I cant stand playing on handhelds and when I see all the good games they get I do become very, very jelly.

If you are casual, SP-only guy with no interest in MP or BT/BS, it's easy to finish it before you pass 100 hours.[QUOTE="cain006"]

If you really want to begin, start with BW, it's the newest one and a reboot, so you only have to worry about the newest 150 pokemons until after you have finished the game's story.I thought this would be a handheld thread.

Sounds good lol. As long as its fun to play I dont think I'll obsess over knowing the entire story arch.
I would have agreed with you if the Pokemon just didn't look so stupid now. I like the gameplay changes, I just would rather use the first 250 or so and forget the rest. I can't even complete White because the pokemon just look so stupid and I can't find any pokemon I actually like. When they have come down to a freaking trashbag with feet they have run out of ideas. I miss my squirtles, mews and such, you know, when they were actually based off of animals and actually looked cool.

Story is bad anyway. In Pokemon, it's all about training that perfect team. And for those who are obsessed with MP, SP is just a long-@ss tutorial. You're stupid, go lay down.Oh yeah Pokemon.
How do you get Pikachu onto a bus?
Pokemon (poke-him-on).
psymon100
They still have cool ones now and they had bad ones back then too. Togekiss, Samurott, Haxorus, Zoroark, Whimsicott, Leafeon, Glaceon, all from 4th and 5th gen Muk, Drowzee, Seaking, Weezing, Jynx, all from 1st genI would have agreed with you if the Pokemon just didn't look so stupid now. I dont really do much mp gaming these days and I do get easily obsessed over stat building. Sounds like its worth a shot! And if I end up liking it at least I know there is no shortage of games in the series. :P
[QUOTE="Kanghaskhan"]I have to agree. Pokemon is so deep. Much deeper than most people realize. It really makes shallow games like Skyrim and Diablo III looks so weak and useless.N30F3N1X
Why are you comparing an RPG franchise to two games that aren't RPGs?
Its pretty sad when people argue about what is an RPG and what isn't.You would think Nintendo dominates teh RPG market with Pandora's Tower, The Last Story, and Xenoblade...but Pokemon is cool too.

You do realize the first generation had pokemon that were based on a pile of sludge(Grimer and Muk), magnets, and a Pokeball, right? The later generations have their share of animal-based Pokemon as well. About the only generation where I disliked almost every Pokemon design was the third generation. In my opinion, the First, Second, and Fourth generations had the best Pokemon designs, the fifth is in the middle(they leaned more towards Gen III at times), and Gen III was the worst of the lot.
But every generation has seen its share of off the wall Pokemon designs. That's part of the fun with the series. Not everyone needs to be based on an animal.

How is Skyrim not an RPG?
No Demons and Dark Souls = no Domination of rpg marketispeakfactand also no fallout 3 , new vegas , oblivion , skyrim , final fantasies ... just to name a few more
If you are 10 and like only have the option for 4 attacks, then good for you. Iam not jelly as I play big man RPGs thats too rude for a kid, like WItcher 2.
[QUOTE="GD1551"]Sounds like you went full Well, I guess we'll be seeing you again once you get back from your suspension, bye! :) BTW, Pokemon is pretty boring, and I hate Turn based RPGs anyways, action RPGs are where it's at.Well if you are 12 or so I guess this is a valid claim with an acceptable example.

You mean the JRPG st.yle of this combat. And you've never played Temple of Elemental Evil.
wouldnt mind seeing nintendo doing a wii u pokemon rpg that was different from the handhelds game(you know,so not to make the fanbase upset)

No I have not. :PThere was a bunch of badly designed pokemon in gen 1 too. Muk/grimer, Jynx, Mr Mime, Cloyster, Magmar, etc. Every generation has had some duds but every generation also has some awesome pokemon.I would have agreed with you if the Pokemon just didn't look so stupid now.
