As far as console libraries go, almost nothing in the newest consoles appeals to me.
Still can't decide whether SNES or Ps1 is rpg library - king.
[QUOTE="ispeakfact"]No Demons and Dark Souls = no Domination of rpg marketAmnesiaHazeand also no fallout 3 , new vegas , oblivion , skyrim , final fantasies ... just to name a few more I would agree.
I haven't played Pokemon since the red/blue era. I kinda want to get back into with Black or white though.

He did, however, leave off Golden Sun, Earthbound, Xenoblade, and Baiten Kaitos.
To the people listing The Last Story, you guys do know that Mistwalker developed it right? Nintendo didn't even publish it in NA. Even if Nintendo owns the IP, it's kinda hard to say it's theirs alone when they didn't handle most of the work behind it.
Judgemental girls will never have a real man who plays Pokemon.Adults that still play Pokémon will never have girlfriends.

Xenoblade Chronicles, Mother, Magical Starsign, Glory of Heracles [Nintendo and Paon purchased the series when Data East went under], Fossil Fighters, Card Hero series [It is Japan Only but it is developed by Intelligent Systems (Fire Emblem and Paper Mario)], Soma Bringer [Japan Only], ASH [Japan Only], The Last Story, Pandora's Tower and Golden Sun.we also can't forget fire emblem, paper mario, the Mario and Luigi series.... am I forgetting any?
inb4uall
These are all I can think of at the moment and these were all released new games during the 7th Generation (DS or Wii)
Edit* Mother 3 was released on the GBA but it was released after the DS was already out.

Comment obviously coming from real life experience....
I think they change just the right amount of stuff. They introduce a couple game changing updates every iteration and give you 100 or so new pokemon. It's not a bad deal considering it's easy to get over 100 hours out of one game. its HARD to get less then 100 hours out of the game... Pokemon doesn't even have 30 hours of content and you're talking about 100?[QUOTE="cain006"]
[QUOTE="GreenGoblin2099"]
Can't debate that...
Still, it's the same repetitive sh!t with every iteration. Gotta be a true fanboy to not realize (or care) about it.

The question is, are all of those good?I have only played Fire Emblem, Paper Mario, Mario & Luigi, Xenoblade Chronicles, and Glory of Heracles but I thought they were all good.Fire Emblem series has 78, 81, 85, 85, and 88 on Metacritic
Paper Mario series has 85, 87, and 93 on Metacritic
Mario & Luigi series has 90, 86, and 90 on Metacritic
Xenoblade Chronicles has a 92 on Metacritic
Magical Starsign has a 69 on Metacritic (They didn't include the GBA game it was Japan Only)
Glory of Heracles has a 69 on Metacritic
Fossil Fighters has 68 and 70 on Metacritic
The Last Story has an 80 on Metacritic
Pandora's Tower has a 74 on Metacritic
Golden Sun series has 79, 91, and 86 on Metacritic
Metacritic doesn't count the Japan only titles in the series and it also doesn't count the games that were released before the N64.

Well technically pokemon is the farthest from the RPG line you can get.Shouldn't Pokemon actually be an RPG first to be competing against Skyrim, Mass Effect, Witcher 2, Baldur's Gate, KOTOR and Dragon Age? Let alone "dominating"? ;)

It is an RPG.
There's Potions, there's Random Battles, There's an Open World to Explore, There's Techniques you can find in Caves, There's Exploration, There's NPCs to talk to and even some that give you items and hints on where to go, Some even tell you tales of "Legendary" Pokemon or where certain Pokemon live.
Pokemon is a Legitmate RPG.
It's no different from those Western RPGs you just listed.

isn't pokemon linear?isn't pokemon linear?riIpas
to an extent, once you get all the neccessary requirements you are free to explore and search caves and stuff for Pokemon.
I think Black and White broke the barriers a bit with TMs working like HMs and most of the HMs are no longer tied down to Badges now.
No one said it was a Sandbox.
I said Pokemon is just as much as an RPG as The Witcher 2 is.

It's arguably the only traditional RPG franchise still standing.
No it's not.No Demons and Dark Souls = no Domination of rpg marketispeakfactPokemon eats both of those games for breakfast. Pokemon sells systems. Take your ignorant trolling somewhere else.
 at people denying pokemon as a legit rpg but praise recent bioware games ShinobishyguyWhich are closer to an rpg than pokemon is. lol nintendo fanboy logic.

Not mixed with any other genre. Like older RPGs such as Squaresoft and Black Isle ones were.
you mean like Dragon Age, Risen or Final Fantasy?

alright, I can agree with that

So Pokemon is not an RPG because there's Health Items in the Game? Last I checked Games like Skyrim and Fallout have those.
Last I checked a Random Mountain Lion in Skyrim is just as Random as a walking into the grass and finding an Oddish or whatever.
Last I checked Also in Skyrim I can check where I am on a Map and go into a cave and find some usefull items in there and maybe even something that helps me progress the game like an HM or a TM ( or in Skyrim a new SHOUT.)
Last I checked every RPG has NPCs, even Dark Souls.
and I'm the one Mentally Ill cause I apparently have "no Idea what an RPG is".
BTW You can Level Up in Pokemon Too, but the way it's set to order the stats is werid you have to fight certain pokemon to boost the speed stat or the stamina stat or whatever, can't do that freely like you can in most western RPGs.
Nope. While I enjoy them, they aren't the best RPG in my opinion. It is the same game over and over again which works for the series, but the formula does get old to me. The stories are pretty non existant which is a pretty important aspect of an rpg. Plus by GS standards it is an A-AA franchise. I do enjoy the games though. Brings back memories.

Fifty million people saying a stupid thing doesn't change the fact that it's a stupid thing.
This sentence goes against all of your other posts in this thread. The person you quoted was saying that Pokémon is an RPG and that every website says it is an RPG just that StatusShuffle is the only person that doesn't consider Pokémon an RPG.Please Log In to post.
