pretty much this. I bet you spend more time thinking about Nintendo than you do playing games.
And when you think about Nintendo, I bet this happens.
LOL. Really starting to think all the cow accounts are controlled by one person. Its like a broken record with all of them and all there threads are the same.

It's getting annoying. There's nothing we can do about it unless they break the TOU.
[QUOTE="locopatho"]N64 decision to go for carts was the right call for games, tho the wrong one for losing devs. PS1 games are unplayable for me with their endless loadingkenakuma
Still it could be argued that anything that hurts developers also hurts gamers...
Yeah it's tough. Losing literally every day was a disaster and they STILL haven't recovered. But even so I can still play N64 games and enjoy them, can't play the PS1 games with endless loading and cutscenes.Wii outsold PS3, had a higher attachment rate, had the highest scoring exclusive this generation, top games in sales outsold anything on PS3. Your obsession is laughable.MBirdy88

Yea, that makes everything all right dosent it. I see a trend going on here at gamespot now, Nintendo is garbage and hated on, rightly so. Seems like the "cool" thing to do here now is defend this garbage since it gets so much hate. You people are pathetic, when nintendo stops being shit I will defend it, till then I will call it like it is.

Lol.
Nintendo is a software company the choices they make on hardware are moronic. As for the online Yamauchi said "online gaming is a fad." So Nintendo was late to the online party. Hence the suckage trying to game online with the wii/u. Not sure why Nintendo has not released any new ip's besides milkage. At this point I would rather see Nintendo as a 3rd party dev. That way they would be removed from making platforms and could concentrate on what they do best.
[QUOTE="AmnesiaHaze"][QUOTE="nini200"] Then why did you get one? Seems like it's your fault for not doing your research.nini200i got one on launch , for zelda , there wasnt anything to research back then :D then ps3 launched and all the cool games missed the wii or got a downgraded multiplatSo since there wasn't anything to research back then, why on earth would you get one? Especially at launch? Â for zelda

Do you own a Wii-U? If not, would you buy one if, theoretically, Ninty released a brand new Zelda next week?
I'm starting to wonder if games like smash bros, zelda, and mario can sell the Wii-U on their names alone like they did with other Ninty consoles in the past given today's gamers knowledge as to what might become of the Wii-U down the road...

Trolls get the amusement from the reactions, not the writing. Its about the destination, not the journey.

*sees the used game fiasco and how some developers say they get "hurt" by it*That is a resounding "no" right there.
sure they were behind when they introduced analog stick, rumble, 3d open world platformers, motion controls touch screens. Â All of which has become standard

And how is all that 'success' working out for the Wii U?
how did all the success of the ps2 work out for the ps3? this means nothing to the argument at hand as much as your comment.pwnedsure they were behind when they introduced analog stick, rumble, 3d open world platformers, motion controls touch screens. Â All of which has become standard

The last Nintendo console I loved gaming on was the SNES..
Wasnt Interested in the N64... Gamecube was a great console but PS2's games library was way better... Wii  ppfff lol i regret wasting money on this console since I only enjoyed probably not more than 7 games... WiiU errm not interested at all..
[QUOTE="AmnesiaHaze"]As we continue to learn...graphics don't mean squat. Except for the SNES which had both superior graphics and great third party support. That's debatable, even if I might agree.in defense of N64 , catridges were better than CD's from a conveneience perspective because PSX had awful long loading times, also the graphics were better than on PSX
Bread_or_Decide
WiiU honestly doesn't have a too big of excuse to not be developed for aside from the other consoles.
Gimmick Controller? It's not that much different from a Handheld or a conventional controller.

I actually thought the Genesis Graphics were better. The only thing SNES had was better Sound.
The 64 set the standard for what 3d games should be.Â
Also the 64 set the standard for console fps.Â
Virtual boy was way ahead of its time Â
they pioneered motion controls.Â
Nintendo has been the most innovative player.in the game industry by far.Â

I think the best of the best are on the snes, personally. There are a few games which are a step up in the audio/visual dept.[QUOTE="LegatoSkyheart"][QUOTE="Heirren"] That's debatable, even if I might agree.Heirren

SNES had the likes of Chrono Trigger, Final Fantasy, and Super Metroid.
Genesis had all of the arcade titles though.

A lot of snes games are ugly, bogged with slowdown and poor use of color, slowdown, etc. however, there are games that show this was just lazy development. I do love that genesis sound. I recently went through Mega Bomberman and am now playing Battletoads--both have wonderful audio. Like I said though, the best of the best prove the abilities of the snes. Anyways, to the topic; it's just silly to even fathom responding to the topic title. Like the games or not, Nintendo has proven time and time again to release unique experiences.[QUOTE="NathanDrakeSwag"]"Under powered console" ..really? Does it really need to be powerful for kids who wanna play Mario? That's what Nintendo is catered to... Kids. And Wtf is wrong with that? Nintendo shouldn't even be mentioned in SW its apples and oranges f**k off with these threads.N64 - They stuck with cartridges and lost every bit of 3rd party support.
Gamecube - They used small discs and missed out on most 3rd party games yet again.
Wii - It was the most underpowered console ever and had mandatory motion and waggle controls that 3rd parties wanted nothing to do with. It also had a laughably pathetic online system.
Wiiu - Yet another severely underpowered console with a gimmick controller.
On the software side of things they haven't created a single new quality core IP since the early 90s.
Over 15 years and 4 consoles later and Nintendo still hasn't learned why core gamers and 3rd parties want nothing to do with them.
Motokid6
It should appeal to everybody not just kids/families. People wan't GTA and Mario on one console. Do you realise outdated harware is an easy way to lose 3rd party support?
I feel Nintendo and it's fans are limiting it's growth as a company, there's no harm in branching out and supporting all audiences.
