Well this really isn't that shocking. They are leading the pack for a reason.
What do you think about it?

Only because of sales to casual gamers.

Because I got Monster Hunter Tri, Tatsunoko vs Capcom, Super Smash Bros. Brawl, and Cave Story I'm now a casual?
1. Wii $9.98 billion
2. Nintendo DS $7.84 billion
3. Xbox 360 $4.55 billion
4. PlayStation 3 $426 million
5. PSP $155 million
Ouch....:(

Nintendo, Sony, Microsoft fans want lots of things. Do they always get them? No. Nintendo is providing excellent software this gen.

welll, ill give you a 50/50 agreement on that one.
Ds=amazing games
wii=Amazing games from nintendo, usually average games from everyone else (yea I know Dead SPace, NMH Monster Hunter Tri and CvsT are all exceptions :P)

Still counts, it's still gaming man. But not what nintendo fans wanted. I was a Nintendo fan and I've so far received the best 3-D Mario platformer, a solid 2-D Mario platformer, a great new Metroid Prime (along with redone, superior versions of the first two games), a Zelda, then a bunch of random very fun games (that I will list if need be, but I'm hoping you can just believe me so I don't have to waste my time). Think I'm pretty happy with my purchase. Have a PS3, Wii, 360, and an ok PC. I like the Wii better than all except my PS3, which I like about as much or a bit more. I highly doubt you own all systems, and therefore have a more clouded view on the matter. You don't know about all the great AA games on the Wii, so stop trashing it. By the way, where do you think the majority of PS3 and 360 sales come from? The hardcore? No it's all from the casuals playing Call of Duty. Pretty much everyone I know has a 360 and pretty much all they plays is Call of Duty. They are all casual gamers. Some games on the Wii Legend of Zelda or Little King's Story (yes, it's hardcore) offer a more hardcore experience than any game on any other system, particularly LKS. The only game I've played this gen that's more "hardcore" than LKS this gen is Demon's Souls, which I love and am playing for the second time right now. Name any game you think is more hardcore, I can almost guarantee you I've played it. Oh and there's a twist: you have to have played it, so no obscure Japanese games that you've never played.[QUOTE="Scythes777"]

I agree. Nintendo has provided great software on every single one of their platforms. The Wii is no exception. The problem lies with third parties not developing any high profile games on the Wii.

It's partially true. There are fanatics who crave for Starfox, F-zeroand Kirby. Also they dislike the 'mainstreaming' of the rest of our core games. I personally love the casual games too, and the big 3 core names are still around, actually I prefer it to be this way.
I'm a Nintendo fan who is for everything they do, but I'm really sceptical towards Vitality sensor :P

I think you mean not what you wanted. I'm getting so tired of people thinking themselves = everyone. I looked forward to the release of the Wii like other people and I eventually bought it and it was my best decision. Now just because you and other people diss the Wii because it's not your cup of tea doesn't mean that it is not a good system.
IT is mainly based on my hate for motion controls.
gammon56
The best games on the Wii really dont use motion controls, and if they do it is usually kept to a minimum.

Sports Games and Call of Duty I would say are just as Casual as Just Dance for the Wii.

it's exactly what i wanted. best exclusives this gen and best downloadable games this gen
also holy **** at sony

Finally!!! I've been thinking this same thing for years. I don't play shooters these days because they just seem a bit too easy for me. I remember actually trying hard to stay aliveby finding extra ammo and health packs which were very hard to find. Now it's like "Need more health...hide behind a rock for a couple of seconds" or "Wanna win the game but you're in last place....shoot the guy who worked hard to get to first place to compensate for your horrible skills!"
Yup, 'tis the end as we know it for shooters. IW is dying and Bungie just sold their souls to the devil.
Good. I own stock in Nintendo, but have yet to get one of those Wiis yet. I guess the rest of the world is sold on them.

Actually what you guys are describing as casual games are mainstreamed games. The game mechanics from MW to MW2 changed in order to make it more accessible.
Hardcore / casual is a st.yle, it's how you play games. You can play MKWii in a casual or hardcore fashion. For example, casuals don't know how to dodge POW blocks, etc.
[QUOTE="gammon56"]Sadly if Natal and Move catch on motion controls will be the future of console games.Meh I admit I am biased, I just hate motion controls with a passion.

Nintendo is gonna move on again and again, to a point where Sony and MS are gonna be standing like a question mark
So liek, we made 3D, why isn't it working???? Because it fits better with 2D games / handheld space duuh.
So uhm, we gots Move, wheres da cash?? Didn't you hear? "Vitality sensor" is the new thing ._.

Yes to that the people on these fourms are not the ones i'm refering to im talkin about the people who buy wii fit and wii sports resort.[QUOTE="the-wii-gamer"]

Uhh, you time a "shake" on the remote/wheel exactly before it hits you. POW..pow..PRESS,if I remember correctly.
It'sthe same button for making a stunt.
Yeah saw that too, I read it 5 times to make sure it wasn't a typo. Just how are those values calculated?[QUOTE="Modern_Unit"]

4. PlayStation 3 $426 million
5. PSP $155 millionOuch....:(

Isn't it counted in profit? PS3 costs alot but it's relatively cheap for what it can do, or something like that.

Not that I agree/disagree with the figures, doesn't really matter to me.
