They weren't from an Ubisoft office, and presumably someone saw the first leak and made a second one to legitimize both leaks in the process.

I was starting to come around to the idea that it could be an optional controller, or the new handheld. Really glad it's not though.

It would have been terrible for third party support and for the system's commercial viability.

In any case, I find it amusing and telling just how many people will pile into a thread with an obviously negative leak, but when said leak is being proved fake, they all mysteriously disappear.

He confirmed that the other fake leak wasn't from him and that it was most likely done using a 3D printer, he said it even impressed him.

I wanted to post in the other thread that an oval-shaped controller might be easy to hold sideways like a Wii Remote.

I know this is a huge sense of relief for some of you guys, but just know this doesn't mean Nintendo isn't going to replace physical buttons with haptic feedback touch controls. The possibility is still there given that patent.

Wasn't a fan either...but somehow i think that is not that far from the real deal but hopefully it will have a much better design.

3d printing sounds like a lot of effort to go through to stage a fake leak.

Exactly, this fake could still be semi-representative of what Nintendo has planned for the NX. People need to remember that this fake was based on Nintendo's own patents.

@emgesp: Anyway, a company that has made its empire on the back of Mario will not forsake physical controls- the precision afforded by tactile buttons is far too great to be effectively replicated by touch buttons.

The oval leak controller with the Zelda game playing on it looked really nice. I imagined that controller snapping into a pro controller type holder. I have not personally experienced the haptic technology, but I think it could work and I want to try it out sometime. I imagined the oval controller being a console that could dock to the TV and be used with a separate pro controller.

I don't know how to believe anything on the Internet anymore, including a debunk of a fake. Part of me still worries that it was true and the debunker a Nintendo shill doing anything possible to stem the reactions while Nintendo scrambles to figure out how to change everything. I'm so paranoid right now I may not be able to stop the scratching.

Indeed, but as far as i remember, those patents pictures showed actual buttons, but i could be wrong.

Meh, at this point I've stopped caring about the NX. Nintendo should make it on par with the X1 and charge $200 for it.

@Basinboy: well the idea of a fake being exactly like the real thing is pretty damn low. Odds are the second 'leak' is just someone piling on with a new fake that legitimizes both leaks in the process by having each corroborating the other.

What I find funny is the actual things that matter

1. 3rd party support

2. Hardware power

3. Online gaming

4. Multimedia support blu-ray player/dd/dts/dnla/ac wifi ect

5. longevity of the platform

Nobody is talking about. I could give two shits about a controller.
