Nintendo NX vs Xbox One Elite vx PlayStation 4K: Which reveal are you more excited for, and why?

Playstation 4K LMAO. Playstation 4 already has difficulties holding 30fps at 1080p

What kind of hardware would it take to get acceptable framerates at 4K ? Most likely this'll be PS5, if that.

Anyway, I don't believe Xbox and PS are doing a hardware revision like this. So I'm more excited for a NX reveal.

NX, by far. It's a brand new platform and (hopefully) a big comeback for Ninty.

As for the PS4K and XBE, while they can be a reality I can't imagine either company doing massive upgrades mid-gen. I can see them being prepared for 4K as far as everything non-gaming is concerned (think the store, menus, films, etc) but not much else.

NX, theres nothing exciting about the PS4 or Xbone.

For Xbox, it is no longer a question of believing- Phil Spencer has openly said an Xbox One revision of this nature is coming.

For that matter, SCE Vice President Masayasu Ito also discussed bringing in a PS4.5 in October last year.

Sony and Microsoft both discussed doing iterative upgrades for the Xbox One and PS4 going forward back when the systems were revealed and they were justifying the move to x86.

It's not a question of believing, it's happening- the question you seem to have is about the device's positioning and marketing, which, sure, I agree will be an issue going forward.

I don't think Bone Elite and PS4K will do much to wow, and i hope they don't, but the NX is just "car crash" curious to me to see if anyone dies or lives or how much damage this will make, or no damage.

Upgrading consoles just sounds like a bad idea so NX wins

X1E if say all the games I have now and future games like Gears 4 and Sea of Thieves for instance get a major upgrade when running on that console. I'm all in.

NX, I just don't know anything about it yet. A wildcard at this point.

PS4.5 is a tempting but will wait to see how it compares to a X1E and it's capabilities.

Exciting, can't wait for this year's E3 if indeed all this is for real. :D

That NX controller thingy is not something that I have faith in at this point in time. I hope it is a hoax or Nintendo knows it works great. Remember the P3 banana controller.

Yeah a whole lotta outrage and upset over nothing, people just take things too seriously to the point where they arent fun anymore.

Just NX, why? Because it's a new console from the ground up by Nintendo. This so called Xbox One Elite & PlayStation 4K isn't a true next-gen console and nothing worth to get excited about those two and the NX should be the true focus.

We even saw Nintendo doing it with new 3DS. But whether this is feasible for consoles is another question.

If it's a huge improvement, basically rendering the original hardware useless ? Again, what is the point ? Why not do that for the PS5 or Xbox Two ?

Was the New 3DS even a success ? I can hardly name 5 games that made use of the better hardware.

It's quite hard to say to publishers: Ok, now forget about our install base of 15 million people, and start developing games for a new install base that has yet to take form.

Heck, publishers had quite a difficult time at the start of this gen to even drop PS3 and 360 in favor of the newer gen.

My vote is for the PS 4K, but isn't the Xbox one Elite already out? I thought that's the 1TB console with the Elite controller.

This is nuts. When was the last time the big three had a refresh or upgrade of their current console in the same current generation of their current consoles. I don't know if you really want to get excited for this or dread it because who knows if this will be the norm for console gaming in the future. Nintendo needed to release something new because the Wii U isn't doing so well. Microsoft continues the campaign of making gaming great again and heard their consumers wanting more power. And Sony wants to dip in 4k, not sure if that's really for gaming but more for movies though, and their upgrade might be to make the PSVR have a better VR experience.

Consoles are now being remastered! =D

I have doubts about MS or Sony doing a console upgrade. But as far as what's competing against the NX I still think it's going to be mainly the holidays in which the PSVR is pit against the NX.

I'm already turned off by their leaked controller. But I'm curious about the NX.

1. I want to know about accessories, if there is another traditional controller
2. I want to know about 3rd party support
3. I want to know NX's real power and the actual physical look of the console itself
4. I want to know about BC features, can it play Wiiu or Wii games
5. I want to know the price and features inside

I have an Xbox Elite already....what are they going to do different?

I have a 4K TV so the PS4.5 is intriguing but it depends on how they are going to do it.....if it's a whole new console....FU, if it's an upgrade with a small price tag I am all in.

It really annoys me that both Microsoft and Sony have plans to release better versions of the PS4 and XONE, it basically means that anyone who already owns either one or both of these consoles will have to spend a lot of money again to get the better experience. It makes me wonder though why they didn't just bother doing this in the first place.

Clearly the NX should win this, we know it's a thing, but we don't know what it is.

X1E and PS4K, are both nothing more than rumors at this point, and even if they are legit, we pretty much know what they are, just beefed up versions of the ones they already have on the market.

The NX by virtue of being a new machine, and by virtue of the fact that my PC makes the PS4 and Xbox One redundant when they don't have a healthy string of quality exclusives. I'm not exactly looking into buying a PS4.5, sounds like a fucking waste. That said if Nintendo is really rolling with a face button less controller? Pass.

I'm losing faith in Sony and MS's ability to provide worthwhile games. New Consoles won't solve their problems.

@xdude85: Mid-Gen upgrades are to become the next DLC.

They could just give you the PS4/XB1 version 5 upfront, or they could give you the version 1 first, and then every 2-3 years release better versions until they hit version 5, and then start all over with the PS5/XB2.

Since I bought a PS4 nearly 2 years ago....the NX controller looks stupid....and nothing Xbox interests me....

Voted NX, because the morbid curiosity I have to know what in the world it is.

However, because I don't feel like NX is terribly important to the wider industry, the move by MS and Sony to iterate on their hardware contradicts the business model that's been in place for almost 30 years. How they attempt to reconcile the competitive advantages the PC possesses is far more interesting to the console space because it's difficult to see how either of them could successfully make it happen.

I love my Wii U, but I am most excited for the NX reveal. Can't wait to see what its official name will be. I am not interested in the power level of the NX; but instead what the console can do, what the console and controllers look like, how much it costs, and the games.

I voted for PS4k but that's only because an updated X1 wouldn't appeal to me because I don't care for MS first party (what very little there is anyway) and the recent and hopefully fake NX images have squashed all of my hype for it.

Ps4.5 just because i'm wondering if Nintendo will pull some tripe with NX, but if they reveal that it still has what a traditional console needs, probably that.

Too many unknowns at this point, the XOne is the only console I own so I would say the XOne announcement, if there is one, is something I'd be most interested in knowing about. But I'm also eager to know about the other 2 choices...not really thinking about any of this now honestly, I've got 3 days of lovely, uninterrupted gaming waiting for me(Easter weekend). Backlog here I come !

As for Xbox 1.5 and PS 4.5 ... they better care what theyll do or i see millions of upset X1/PS4 owners tear them apart.

I guess the x1 as it needs the upgrade the most. I also can't wait for the belly flop that is the nx. The ps4 needs a new network card but more power can never be bad.

Two of the three are speculation and the one that isn't has a touch controller. So, where is the none of the above option?

The NX if I had to choose between the 3, but to be honest, I'm losing interest in the NX which last month I was really excited for. At this point I'm more interested in seeing what Pascal, Polaris, and Zen bring to the table than any of these consoles or revisions. If these revisions are true, I'll never be an early adopter of consoles again and may just go strictly pc. I was thinking about going mainly nx/pc but if the controller leak or the hardware power being that of the X1 is true, I'll probably pass. I already have the X1 and PS4 and don't really need a 3rd version of them, even if that means missing out on some Nintendo games. There's still Wii and Wii U Nintendo games I haven't got around to picking up or playing. If Nintendo can wow me though, I'm on board.

I doubt ill buy it myself but I really hope the NX is a big comeback for Nintendo.
