Well there you have. The Switch is pioneering more garbage addons. Its the only system in which player has to perpetually buy more stuff to make the system relevant. Reminds me of Apple consumers. I can't wait to read the fanboys defense of this nonsense. It will be a good read.

That's because Amiibo's are sold as "rare collectibles" this is more of a toy. Also, what's wrong w/grown Men and Women enjoying kid stuff? I can see parents spending time w/their kids with this.

@FireEmblem_Man: Kids are not gonna be asking their Parents to pay $70 to put some cardboard pieces together just so they can play some glorified tech demos with it. If it has any success it will be because of all those Nintendo Man-Children who refuse to accept that they are now adults.

It's understandable to have reservations about Labo but if you consider the large amount of kids that assemble models, Legos and Adriuno it's not that outlandish to imagine this doing very well.

Except Legos don't require a $300 attachment and are more durable.

LOL, I bet you think it's also man-children that buy Minecraft too? Kids are more creative between the age of 5 to 12, and many of the "Man-children" you speak of probably have families!

This is for kids who already own a Switch. I can't imagine this being much of a system seller. And you would he surprised how insanely expensive the larger Lego sets can get.

Legos are insanely more flexible as creative avenue than this nonsense. But consumers are going to eat it up like the mini nes, mini snes and amibos.

Those larger more expensive Lego sets are usually bought by teens and adults, not small children.

Not at all. Minecraft's audience is vary broad in terms of age. Lots of kids, teens and adults both Male and Female. This is not Minecraft.

You two are acting like I'm championing this idea. I'm saying it's creative enough to catch on if marketed correctly. The price is whack but with the inclusion of a game, the optics aren't all that bad. There's also a number of very positive previews floating around; so far, so good. Poo poo it all you want but I think it has a good chance to do very well for Nintendo.

Nintendo doesn't know what they're doing. Trying to get back the Wii audience is a waste of resources and will kill Switch momentum. I'm reducing my expectations for next year from 15-20 million to 10-15 million just for this terrible move.

You remind me of that person at the prom, the wallflower, too cool to participate, making fun of those on the dance floor. But the ones dancing are having the real fun. You're missing out.

Switch is successful because of core games. Trying to change that instead building off of it is a bad business decision.

Save the typical "hardcore gamer" bigotry. Sony adapted to a casual audience and it has worked for them.

Exactly. Casual gamers are the backbone of companies. They come in large supply and buy the games up. The best selling games on each platform are casual games.

Hardcore gamers overestimate their importance. I also blame them for microtransactions. They want expensive games, but they are a small demographic. Right now companies are trying to maximize their profits. If hardcore gamers were smart, they would welcome casual gamers into the fold. Maybe their games would sell more and grow the video game business. Alas...

You are wrong about this just like you were wrong last year when you predicted that the Switch would not be a success. Kids are going to love this. I know that I would have been asking my parents to buy me it when I was a kid. This is a creative idea that kids will have a lot of fun with and it will be a big success.

Because a 6 year old will give a shit about price and material.

You know Lego? Those cheap plastic bricks where it costs £60 to build the Millennium Falcon ? Apparently it's quite successful.

Agreed. This must be exactly what Super Mario cereal taste like. Salty fucking fanboy tears. Delicious!

I wouldn't be surprised. As much as I didn't see eye to eye with Sean Malstrom on many things, he was right the whole time on "hardcore" gamers

Yeah, Nintendo abandoned them. Because I've surely never seen the "hardcore" crowd spout their "F*** yous!" prior to even the Wii and revision history as well.

Wow. This is the most hilariously stupid thing i've ever seen. Worse than Kinect. What cracks me up is that it's actually CARDBOARD. omfg. If it were April 1st I'd think Nintendo pulled an April Fools.

Would I have thought this was stupid as a kid? Dunno, but probably yes.

On the bright side, I guess as soon as kids are sick of this crap, you can dump the cardboard in the recycling bin - rather than have plastic junk filling your house or a landfill.

Fifa and Madden aren't really "casual" games though. Those games have depth, and dedicated players. For some, that's ALL they play. The games are so popular I'm sure a ton of "casual gamers" buy it, but it is not a "casual game".

Casual games are simple (and often short) games without any dedicated players - usually no online or real competitive mode - and no depth. Mini-game collections and party games are like the perfect example. Casual games aren't always bad, alot of the time they can be quite good. Mario Sports was the ultimate example of a great casual game - it transcended to such a level I'm not sure I should even call it a casual game. Perhaps 1-2 Switch would be a better example, since that looks terrible. This looks more like that. Rubbish.

Cardboard patterns are free and the kits are not mandatory to play the game. Y’all are reaching with all this hate
