@storm_of_swords: I always said Switch would outsell Wii U. Anyways, just because I was wrong about one thing doesn't mean I won't be right with this prediction.
@FireEmblem_Man: Kids are not gonna be asking their Parents to pay $70 to put some cardboard pieces together just so they can play some glorified tech demos with it.
Because a 6 year old will give a shit about price and material.
You know Lego? Those cheap plastic bricks where it costs £60 to build the Millennium Falcon ? Apparently it's quite successful.
Its usually older teens and Adults that buy those more expensive Lego sets.
@micky4889: Again, Nintendo provides cardboard patterns free of charge and the Labo kits aren’t mandatory.
@2Chalupas: Ah, so children’s creativity and imagination are things you laugh at? Would you rather have children obsessing over pixel counts instead?

Don't listen to the haters, they don't know how this will get kids into stem
@FireEmblem_Man: Just because you are a Manchild does not mean you are an expert in what kids want, so stop acting like one and using that to damage control this shit.
Yes, I'm a manchild.... And so are the many people that bought a Switch
Yeah, you can get used Lego sets for next to nothing.
Where? Lego holds it's value better than most investments these days. People in the Netherlands pay for drugs in Lego sets. Many of the rarer sets increase in value over time, even if they are opened and built. Stop pulling shit out of your ass and trying to pass it off as a gold nugget.

I dunno if I would consider it creativity and imagination :P
The thing is pretty structured
@foxhound_fox: Just standard Lego pieces I mean. Not those rare collectibles. You are trying to move goal posts. Not every Lego set will end up being highly collectible or worth much down the road. Its irrelevant to bringing up such exceptions.
Legos in general are not expensive. You can get a bucket of them for cheap.

Not the real Kaz.
Wow. Probably something that I won’t get into, although you never know, but I really have to hand it to Nintendo that this is an amazingly creative application for the Switch. I did get a chuckle though that this is coming out on the 20th of April for well, reasons. :P

HahaHa. A couple of the replies are golden.
Yes they are.

Hitler's Birthday is no laughing matter son.
Can i just say how angry I am that Nintendo has the temerity to release a product that is not aimed directly at me! Don’t they realise that gaming revolves around me and the other self appointed gaming gatekeepers!
Apparently we all underestimated the capabilities of the Switch Joycons. I'm really interested to know how all these kits work. Particularly the piano.
Nintendo is selling their fanbase literal trash for 80 dollars and they're eating it up. What is happening to this planet? I need to make the slow but necessary journey to stop playing video games in the next 5 years or so to free myself from the madness.

Get over yourself dude. It's not aimed at us.

It seems like this planet has somehow gotten less clever. It's somehow #1 on Amazon. That's what I'm hearing.

Who's it aimed at? It's not children that are buying those cardboard boxes at $80 a pop.
@BenjaminBanklin: well watching the video it features parents and children. So I’m thinking it’s aimed at parents and children.
NINTENDO: Nintendo Labo is for kids and those that like kid stuff!
ADULT GAMER: Okay, but what if I don't want it?
NINTENDO: Totally fine. It's for kids.
ADULT GAMER: Yes, but cardboard? Really? Not in my game room!
NINTENDO: It's for kids.
ADULT GAMER: But how is it for me?
So I've just watched the video, my first impressions?
What a complete load of bollocks......... The problem with using 'actors' in these videos is that portray things in an unrealistic way.
My wife's a teacher and her thoughts were that it looks like something that would be amazing to have in schools (Not that UK schools have the money to buy them) but in practice it wouldn't really work as it requires too much supervision from adults and most adults chuck kids on a console for peace and quiet.

Can you explain why it's stupid that people are purchasing this?
Cardboard?

Do you understand what the word explain means?

So people buying something that is for kids makes them dumb? That's a reason for you to dislike it, but hardly a reason to make people dumb. Heck, chances are a number of them are quite surprisingly, buying it for its intended audience, kids.

There's people with kids inhabiting this planet? Wuuuuut?
Looks interesting. :)
I'm not going to get it probably, but love the idea of it. I used to remember when I messed with Arduino and the Lego robotics several years back. It's kind of looks like that, but of course not as advanced. Good for younger children that want to learn about engineering and such.
All these people who claim this is just for kids, but you know these are the people going to be buying it.
Our society is in a perpetual state of arrested development with grown adults unable to let go of their childhood.
Let's be frank here: its what? 50 quid for some cardboard and a few casual games. The cardboard will get ripped, smudged and damaged in five minutes in the hands of their "target audience" - except Nintendo know who the real target audience is.
It's not the end of the world, but the fanfare this has been given is wholly unwarranted and honestly people defending this crap are a joke.
